55It was amazing !! Moose is pretty reactive and there wasnโ€™t a single trigger here for him, he loved it and so did I :)
55What a beautiful spot! Very well maintained and plenty of room to run and sniff. We will be back!
55What a lovely country setting for a Sniffspot! There is plenty of shade, chairs, woodsy paths and meadows to walk and run through. And itโ€™s so wonderfully quiet after being in the city! Very clean and well maintained. Our little dog enjoyed it and felt comfortable exploring and then resting in the shade. Bigger dogs would have lots of room to run and explore. There is even a sand box for digging!
55This is just a fun place for dogs! Lots of trails in between tall grass and a sandbox, piles of sawdust.. my girls had a blast today!
55Host was so sweet and very communicative! The area had a joyous walking path, many shady areas and plenty of room for our fur babies to run around! Will for sure be back
55We love this place! There is plenty of room to run and explore, and the dogs can choose sun or shade. Itโ€™s very clean and tidy with fresh water and toys and seating for the humans. We came up earlier in the day to avoid the heat, and it was truly lovely! They have done a great job cleaning up after the ice storm, and we can see that it was a huge job! Thanks again for offering your beautiful land for us to enjoy. We will be back again!
55Best Sniffspot. Amazing host & space. 10+stars. We love every minute here.
55I love hiking but my youngest puppy isnโ€™t quite ready yet. This was the perfect spot to enjoy nature with the security that we wonโ€™t run into other dogs or people. Itโ€™s such a beautiful area, both my pups were very happy to explore and run around. I look forward to visiting again!
55This spot is truly a โ€œsanctuaryโ€. We have loved every visit. Perfect mix of sunshine and shade. Thank you to the host for providing a slice of dog heaven.
55Started going to this spot in fall/ winter. Fun seeing it change thru the seasons with new things to explore.

Description

**Finally, Jasper Memorial Sanctuary is ready to host dogs. The recovery of this area following the January storm has been extensive. Please be mindful of the scope of the damage and tread lightly to allow the land to recover. As new trees and shrubs are planted in the fall, please ensure that they are not damaged by dogs. There will be ongoing logging on most weekdays on our property and adjacent neighbor's property. I will keep the Sanctuary closed during some of this time as the logger brings his dog to work. The cost to recover/rebuild Jasper Memorial Sanctuary was extensive. Material costs were over $5000. Labor costs, had I hired all the hours worked, are over $15,000. The price increase for utilizing the Sanctuary is small in comparison to the expenses incurred from the loss. Thank you to all my amazing guests who have given your dog(s) opportunity to find their calm within by visiting Jasper Memorial Sanctuary. It is amazing to see your dogs and you finding your inner peace. Thank you too for following all of the rules to keep this SS sustainable into the future. The fee set is the amount needed to allow me to keep this site open and provide improvements when needed. (I understand other sites charge less, but I've learned charging less is not financially sustainable. Hosts do not earn what they charge). I love hosting new and returning guests. RECENT IMPROVEMENTS/RESTORATION: Approximately 80 damaged/downed trees removed. 40 uprooted stumps ground out 340' of new 5' fencing installed 140' fencing repaired New entrance gate/location created 100s perhaps 1000s of poison oak dug out (it's still present, just fewer) Culvert installed at entrance with gravel path to gate (pending) New signs installed A 6'x6' sand box has been added. Please encourage digging in this location only. Discourage digging in all other locations for the safety of everyone and the preservation of the environment. A poop bag dispenser has been installed on a post near the gate and will be kept filled. MEMBERSHIP AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST to repeat/returning guests after we have met. Please message me if interested. Jasper Memorial Sanctuary, named in memory of my soul dog Jasper, is no larger than 1.3 acres in and fully fenced. The acreage is a combination of mid-age dense timber, new reforestation, devastation zone and open grass. The area is flanked on two sides by driveway. My parents and I have been caring for our 18-acre farm for 45 years. In those years we have provided safety and sanctuary for a variety animal species, both domestic and wild. Most of the domestic animals who live on the farm are rescued. Many of them are/have been special needs animals who receive specialized and alternative care, i.e. Reiki, acupuncture, naturopathy, and in their time receive hospice care and end-of-life choice.I work as a nursery specialist, a garden consultant and a natural hoof care practitioner. My parents are retired and work on caring for the land and animals.
