Welcome to our brand new Sniffspot area in Sturbridge (Fiskdale) MA. We are excited to provide an off leash play space for your furry bestie. Conveniently located close to the Massachusetts Turnpike and Rte 84. While I usually require advance notice, if you message me, and I'm able to immediately respond, I may be able to accommodate last minute reservations. (please note, with minimal notice, we may not have the opportunity to completely refresh the play space) Looking forward to adding amenities, play options and operational improvements as the season progresses .

Hello K9 Parent, I have taken part of my property with the plan that other K9 parents would be interested in enjoying the agility obstacles we have made for your pleasure to give your dog exercise or practice agility. We offer human and dog snacks in the cooler. Please help yourself.

Enjoy the safety of a fully fenced in backyard on over 10,000 ft.² of grass! Enjoy use of another .50 acre of flat, open field for long leash training and recall.  Sit in the shaded gazebo while your pup sniffs and runs OR play a fun game of fetch with one of our balls, frisbees or sticks. Either way, your furry friend will leave tired and happy! While you’re here, enjoy a hike in the Shenipsit State Forest just steps away from our property. Hike the Connecticut blue trail and take your pet(s) on a fun adventure. Hello! We are excited to share our yard! The unique thing about us is we offer an agility obstacle course and a dog pool (upon request). We do have two dogs that we will keep inside and not visible. You may enter the property through a gate on the side of the house, but we will get more into details when you book :)

Come and play in Sammy’s Playground. There’s lots to do. With the entire 0.5-acre backyard fully enclosed by a new chain-link fence (Fall 2022), the pups are free to roam and run to their hearts delight. And, wow… it sure is fun to watch them go!! Zoom-Zoom (important notices on pricing and opening the gate are at close of this section). The areas along the edges of the yard are wooded and make for fun pathways for explorations. The central area of the yard has a slight hill and is mostly open. This makes for plenty of romping and heavy-duty running- including long throws of a ball or a frisbee. Check out all of the photos and read the accompanying descriptions to get a better idea of how Sammy’s Playground will appeal to you and your furry friends!! And don’t worry about the yard (too much). There’s divots and mounds all around, no manicured lawns when dogs are at play. Go for it guys… Enjoy!! The pool💦 is open and the water is Devine for pups and humans alike. We allow two humans per dog to assist any dogs that may need “assistance.” We have a bunch of life vests available, but can’t guarantee that we have one that will fit your dog(s). Many dogs will find great pleasure in retrieving their ball or simply going for a dip in the pool. Sammy is a nutcase for his tennis balls. David stands in the deep end, throws the ball to the stairs, Sammy bobs for the ball, retrieves it… all to do it again (whining the whole time). Mind you, he will not retrieve (or drop) his tennis ball otherwise. For 💦 pool use, select the corresponding “Extra” for your visit. Striped towels for the dogs. Colorful towels for the humans. Place wet towels on the wall. They’ll dry almost instantly. We also set up the furniture, gazebo, hammock, doggie toys, cold water and beverages for our Guests for ALL to enjoy as we enjoy this summertime!! Yea. It’s our hope that our family-like relationships between us and our Guests remain great and we to avoid any reason to raise our hourly rate. SniffSpot suggests we list at $20/hour. We are uncomfortable with doing this, because it goes against the spirit of our objective for the playground in the first place: providing a safe and secure environment for dogs of all kinds to enjoy off-leash “true-dog” experiences with their loving humans. We do welcome donations of dog food and medications for the all-dog rescue organization, PAWS New England. In fact, on some occasions, we may make Sammy’s Playground available on “off” hours. When we do, we consider this premium time and ask that a donation be a must. ——- NOTE: to open the gate, simply reach over the top to find the key. Twist/turn the key until it stops. Then, lift the knob on top of the gate and push the gate open… you’re in! The gate automatically closes behind you. Please confirm that it has engaged into the closed position and then turn the key to lock yourself in. DO NOT REMOVE THE KEY. The photos section includes views of the gate, key and lock. NOTE: As an “Extra” listed benefit, you may park your vehicle in an area away from the gate and take advantage of a leisurely stroll down the very-well-kept sidewalks of Park Street and adjoining neighborhoods. This might be a good way to burn off that last little bit of doggy energy or for some leash training while you’re here. This is time AFTER your booked time of using Sammy’s Playground (not a part of it). This is essentially a parking fee. We just don’t want you to run off without taking advantage of all the resources available to you for your dog(s).

PLEASE DO NOT RENT THE FIELD UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE SPORT OF DOG AGILITY! If you have never taken classes or competed before, please message me and we can set up a time for a private lesson to ensure the safety of you and your dog. AKC Regulation a-frame, teeter, dogwalk, table, and jumps from Max200. MAD Agility channel weaves. Saloon door style tire and tunnels from Clean Run. Please potty your dogs outside of the agility field! Feel free to wander around outside of the back gate, but do keep your dogs leashed for safety as it is not fully fenced and keep your eyes peeled for poison ivy! It is low tech back there. There is no electricity, running water, or lighting (yet). Gates are secured with bungees for now until permanent posts & latches are installed. Please bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, proper footwear, etc. I do my best to keep the field as manicured as possible, but it is the out of doors so nothing is ever perfect! The pine trees provide lovely shade, but they do also provide pinecones and twigs. Give the space a once over to ensure there is nothing poky on you or your dog’s path! If you move or reset any equipment, please put it back how you found it before you leave. Your rental $ will go to the “have the field professionally leveled and reseeded” fund so if you’d like to donate extra to the cause and get that done sooner, please leave a few dollars in the donation box.
