55Great place for our dogs to romp! Fencing is strong, hose and water are readily available, parking is safe and convenient, and hosts are easy to reach and very hospitable. We will be back!
55Great place for my dog to stretch her legs. Two goats and one point were completely cool with my dog’s fence fighting, which created an incredible training opportunity - thanks animals!! The driveway by the pasture isn’t labeled, but the pasture is on the corner of Swedetown and Clatskanie valley drive. The next driveway is labeled with the number, but the Sniffspot gate is by the unlabeled driveway.
55Stopped on the way from Portland to Astoria for my pup to get a nice little break from the car. Wide open field for my herding dog to zoom around! Reliable fence, and very kind host.
55This spot is on a beautiful piece of property! The hostess is very sweet & friendly. My pup had a great time stretching his legs here.
55Very large area to run and play. Secure fence. We will be back again!
55Super nice host. The fences is well done. my dogs had a lot of fun playing there. They have both long and short grass which my dogs had fun playing in.
55AWESOME SPOT! So much room to run and play! We will definitely be back!
45The owners are super nice. Area is completely fenced. They have a goat and horse that use the pasture so there was some poop but it was great for my dog running around.
55Another wonderful visit! The goats and pony are delightful and my dog enjoys running over to them with her frisbee as if to say “come on let’s play”. Host is thoughtful and considerate. I am grateful they share their field-
55DoraMae had a wonderful time -- and the goats are just adorable.

We have been rescuing and fostering terriers since 2006. I have been training and working with dogs for over 50 years. The pasture field is securely fenced - although we do have 2 lower elk jump sections. We have not to date had any dog jump out, including Labs and GSPs who have been fostered here. Dog owners would be expected to supervise their dogs. There is lots of room for ball play. All toys and balls will need to be picked up afterwards of course. Mucks or rubber boots RECOMMENDED.

Dixie Mountain Delight Woods, Trails, and Field

**ALL PROFITS ARE DONATED TO LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS (read more at the bottom)*** Dixie Mountain Delight is a unique Sniffspot! It's a 10-acre property with several trails through rustic wooded areas and a large Field of Dreams (with an overlook) to enjoy. You (human) will get a pretty decent walk in along with your dog! Disappear into the woods with your doggo pack and explore the property. The main trail through the woods is a little over a quarter mile long, and there is plenty to sniff and explore along the trail. It is a hike with some slight inclines and declines, but nothing very strenuous. The woods are very quiet and serene, but they are also robust and eagerly await your adventures! We recommend starting on the main trail that begins behind the barn and then either exploring more trails on the way to the field, or just heading directly to the field for wide-open fun. The Field of Dreams fluctuates between being mowed and having areas of tall grass. Deer visit our field regularly, so hopefully, your pack will find some interesting things to sniff. There is a sitting area on the field for you to rest while your pack runs like the wind, explores, fetches, or simply enjoys the day. There are several other small, interesting trails to explore and reconnect with nature. Just follow the map and signs. Make sure you snap a pic by the Guard Shack and read its history. Inside the shack are some interesting feathers to smell. All trails are marked. We have several dogs that have a fenced area by the house, however, we keep the dogs inside when we have Sniffspot visitors. Occasionally, you might hear them bark when visiting, but generally, they are tucked away and occupied when we have Sniffspot guests. We are working on a few projects around the property, mostly on the house to include rebuilding the deck. You may occasionally see us up at the house working on one project or another, but we are respectful of your privacy. Located atop Dixie Mountain, the drive up is filled with snatches of lovely views of the surrounding mountains and Portland (weather dependent). The view is especially gorgeous if you mosey up from Highway 30. There certainly is a lot to do, see, and smell on Dixie Mountain! We hope you will come see us. ****************************************************************************************************** In August of 2023, we were in southern Alabama visiting our son who is in the US Army. He found two abandoned puppies at a deserted boat ramp and after trying to find them homes for two weeks, our only options were to turn them into a kill shelter or bring them home to Oregon. After bringing home these two abandoned puppies from Alabama, where there is a definite crisis facing abandoned animals and a shortage of space at no-kill shelters, we felt a calling to help our no-kill shelters here in Oregon. I feel strongly about supporting our local shelters and spreading the donations around. All profits from my Sniffspot are donated to local shelters, which rotate. So far we have donated to Family Dog New Life Shelter, Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter, Oregon Dog Rescue, and Oregon Humane Society, Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals. You are helping by visiting Dixie Mountain Delight! Thank you!

Nature in the City Private Dog Park

Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Our natural setting has different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), areas great for running, a forested area with several nature trails for a hiking adventure where your dog(s) can run, explore, run & feel free, a large tree’d area that your pups can run under, and a healthy little creek that your pups can wade in, cool off, and drink from. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s). There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s an area where you have to walk on logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit it will have more open space, more trails, and less blackberry bushes. We provide a rain/sun shelter with foldable chairs and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, wipes, hand towels, cornhole, 2 lounge chairs, 4 folding chairs. a kids size picnic table, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is fully secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *Seasonal Attention-We have baby bunnies on our property. They usually hide really well, but if your pup finds a baby or a nest, please redirect your pup to try to avoid the bunnies from getting hurt. The blackberries are ripe and yummy right now! Feel free to pick some while you’re here! Thank you!
