55WOW. This is the most amazing Sniffspot. A true gem with so much space to explore, without worrying about other dogs/people. Even though I’m not located close to this spot, I will still make the drive again just for my pups to enjoy the amazing trails and smells.
55As everyone else has noted, this is an exceptional Sniffspot! Lots of interesting trails, and no worries about my dog escaping the spot. It took us about an hour to do all of the trails, walking at a leisurely pace (the map that you can grab after parking was very helpful). With all of its shade, it's also a great place to visit on a sunny day. I'd highly recommend visiting this spot!
55My dog loves this place. Lots of woodland trails full of good sniffs. We easily spend an hour here without getting bored. Thanks Paul for sharing your wonderful property with us!
55Zoey absolutely loves the woods!! Thank you Paul for your work to make this a great place to come run!!!
55The Sniffspot was amazing and I will continue to come back. so nice to not have to worry about other dogs being around because of my reactive dog. This is the perfect spot.
55My dogs had a blast! A beautiful area for walking. All the trails are marked and a map is provided. We loved it.
55The pathways are clear and clean.
55So much to explore and very nicely kept! The dogs loved it !
55So grateful to have this place to explore with our pup!
55Great trails with signs to direct us . Lots of water for tired and hot dogs . Easy access ! My dog Bella loves the trails !

Hazards

You'll be on woodland trails so there will be the normal hazards. You could step in a gopher hole, trip on a root, get scratched by blackberry vines, or step in a poodle, er puddle. ;). Very rarely, as in about once every 400 visits, you may see a coyote from a distance. We've never had a dog/coyote encounter, but if this possibility makes you uncomfortable, then this is probably not the place for you.

Wonderlane

Embark on an enchanting Pacific Northwest rainforest adventure at Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot for Dogs and Their Best Friends - Bring your friends and their dogs too! Unleash your dogs and frolic with your beloved friends in the lush embrace of our hilly Pacific Northwest natural rainforest. Wonderlane beckons you and your best pals to explore 66 years of history across 2 acres of established trails, over 9 terraces, under towering old-growth trees, listening to the gentle murmur of a clear creek, accessible by your choice of 2 gates. Close the black entrance gate behind you before you park. From the parking area choose your path— the left or right trails —and meander down Flying Horse Lane or Waggin' Tail Lane to The Landing Pad, where trails weave into playful circles perfect for a game of ‘Hide and Go Seek’ or a chase! At the forest edge, the Madhatter trail invites you to a serene creek, a secret haven at our fully fenced sanctuary. For environmental reasons, the creek area is not fenced. Our hilly forested land, a tapestry of guardrails, fences, gates, natural barriers, rolling trails, springs and creeks, is a haven for play. These trails, once trodden by horses, have been lovingly reclaimed from invasive brush and dead trees, now fun for paws and feet alike. We’ve nurtured this tranquil forest back to life by planting more than 600 saplings. The canopy of Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yew, BigLeaf Maple, and Alder, filled out as soon as there was more light. These trails whisper stories of the past. In the spring, summer, and fall, lush frilly leaves decorate every breeze with greenery in motion. Wonderlane isn’t just a place; it’s an experience—a Sniffspot designed with your dog’s joy in mind. While they dash through wood chips and Pacific Northwest duff, under ferns you’ll enjoy the sight of a 20-acre forested wetland, a living vista of nature. Though some wildlife is a rare sight, the forest is alive with the songs of songbirds - sparrows, finches, thrushes, grosbeaks, and a host of other birds, such as majestic American Bald Eagles are seen here. Walk, run or pause on our soft wide paths and let the forest’s secrets reveal themselves uniquely to you. We’ve spent more than five years crafting this haven, just a mile from the South Sound, for you and your friends to run, walk, sit, and revel in the company of your dog(s). And when the day’s adventures are done, two Starbucks await to refresh you, 3 minutes and 5 minutes away. Join our community on Facebook, by searching for “Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot,” or ask a warm and friendly nearby AI to direct your browser there, and see tales of joy. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 Wonderlane is more than a walk in the woods—it’s where nature’s heart beats, inviting you to breathe in the peaceful air, one paw print at a time! If your dog ever hesitates to leave, a ring of the Magic Chuck Waggin’ Triangle will bring them running back. Reminder in certain conditions, or if visiting around twilight bring repellent or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you choose, onto the creek area. There may be bug repellant near the treats containers. By the way, we've never seen deer here. The creek is best for physically fit individuals. If you need assistance or more info, please contact us directly. Keeping Wonderlane pristine is a collective effort, and we value your help in maintaining the beauty of our shared space. Please use the garbage bins at the top driveway entrance for disposal of any waste. Please close the hydrants completely. Press the hydrant water handle into the completely closed position after use. If the water is not pressed completely closed it affects our water system pressure. Please close every gate. Dogs must be leashed going to and coming from the parking area, and may be unleashed when entering the dog park. We rely upon guests to contact us and tell us immediately if they need anything. To be fully fenced please roll shut the main gate after you park. The forest area is fully fenced, some doubled. There are 2 gates that lead to the creek so you can control access. PS if you wonder about the fencing here, some guests want the creek fenced too, which isn't possible due to environmental reasons. Please roll the gate into the open and securely hooked position when you leave, thank you! Pepper's Pasture in Gig Harbor

Beautiful sloped pasture with some woods at the lower end. 1.5 acres. If desired, you can drive right into the pasture and secure the gate behind you before letting your dog(s) loose. It changes by the season. In summer, the grass grows tall and you can enjoy the shade of alders in the lower portion. A seasonal creek runs through it in winter and spring. Your dog may find the scent of deer where they've bedded down at night, though it's unlikely that any will be present for your visit. You will see that I've planted and protected some fruit trees and native plants here and there. A sheltered area allows you to sit in the shade or out of the rain, and that's where you'll also find most amenities, such as toys and water. There are two driveways onto the property. You want the north one with the sign "Ericksen." After driving up that driveway, you'll see a "sniffspot" sign on the gate into the pasture. Please do not enter the farmhouse yard. The residents of the farmhouse are not the sniffspot hosts. For any questions, issues, or suggestions about how I can improve this spot, please drop me a message or call me, Annika, at 253-346-5863. New: accepting donations for COMPOST, like leaves, lawn clippings, pumpkins, newspaper, fruit/veg peels, coffee grounds, annual plants including tomatoes, used potting soil, tree trimmings, etc. You'll see the compost receptacle as you come up the driveway.
