55This is a great spot. The trails are well marked and plentiful. We were an hour and didn’t hit every trail. Host was great, welcomed us with a map and sent us off on our adventure. We will definitely be back.
55My dog Pixel and I both enjoyed our visit. The trails are well-kept and labeled. The instructions are obvious and easy to follow! 100% will be back again
55Amazing sniffspot! We had a great time. The trails are incredibly well maintained (and the map certainly helps although you can't really get lost). Martin was so helpful and always responsive. He has a beautiful property. We will definitely be back - summers are a little hot for my pup but there's shade throughout. We'll probably be spending most of our winter weekends here! Although the property is technically unfenced (and stated that way), the way the trails are groomed gives some nice boundaries. We still had our long leash on just in case but that's a personal choice! We're so looking forward to our next visit!! Thanks Martin!!
55Wonderful sniffspot, and the new bridge across the marsh really opens up the trails. My dog loves coming here, and my husband and I are happy to bring her.
55What a beautiful property! Based on reviews, I booked 2 hrs for us to make the most of the trails and think we covered them all with over 5km tracked. Almost all of the trails are well-groomed, with some long grass on just a couple. We were very thankful for the map! We wouldn’t have gotten lost but it was helpful to make sure we covered as much of the property as possible. Luna had THE BEST time! Thank you for meeting us at the parking spot to welcome us! We took the owner’s advice and first headed left to “Downhill”. The view of “Meadow” and the new boardwalk was lovely! “Guardian” and “Locust” trails took some extra time to navigate the longer grass but still doable. Luna loved a dip in the creek! We will be back - thank you!
55Wonderful set of trails and very well marked! We had a great time - thank you!
55We’ve been to this spot many times and always love it! Since our last visit they’ve finished a lovely raised walkway over a particularly wet muddy section - this was especially appreciated today, as we visited after a heavy rainfall. As always, great sniffs, quiet and isolated - this is a great spot for sensitive pups.
55We always enjoy coming here! The property is kept clean and there is a lovely new wooden bridge to help keep you dry in the areas that typically gather water. We love it!
55Beautiful spot! Map was easy to understand once you got going, had to turn around at one point because the marsh crossing (I believe) was too overgrown to go through. Could also have been my mapping skills at that point though! Loved the creek area where our dogs could cool off. Didn’t have time to explore the full property so I am very excited to return! Host was friendly and accommodating, bringing us out a printed map. My Boston Terrier had a blast and so did I!
55A beautiful spot for both dogs and people Lots of trails all groomed with lovely meadows and woods Had a great time

Description

***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD*** With big wide open trails, forest, marsh, creeks and wildlife, this doggy paradise is attracting visitors from all over southern Ontario. Trail map is found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1do57Iq23GVfcDxiEGihv7dVUWFXBSrGq/view?usp=drive_link Trails are open, mowed and maintained all year long. We host a beekeeper who has about 40 hives on a well-marked and avoidable section of one trail. The bees won't be out until April but please avoid the hives anyway. Read the reviews to get a good sense for what kind of experience you will have. We are grateful for all the positive feedback and pledge to make your experience just as fantastic.

Hazards

This spot has a water feature, make sure to review these guidelines for visiting spots with water before visiting: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water Bee hives on one trail - they don't like small dogs! Easy to avoid, well marked. Bees aren't active in fall and winter, but stay away from the hives anyway. We live out in the country and there are coyotes. They are very shy, and if you stay on or near the trails you will never see them. Avoid dusk or early morning if this is a concern for you. The west side cutover from Meadow to Black Walnut can be up to a foot deep.

I love to ski, so I cut a lot of trails. My dog Teddy is a shy but friendly Shitzu-Poodle mix who likes to go on long walks. Teddy and I are happy to share the trails with other dogs.

Private Dog Park In Waterdown at Goldenwood Acres

***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD.*** **Gate is back up and Fully Fenced as of April 21, 2024** Welcome to Goldenwood Acres! On our 26 acre hobby farm, we have a 6 acre fully fenced farm field/dog park. Ride up and park at the white barn, and walk your leashed puppers to the field past our gardens, woodlots, and ponds. From the barn to the dog park you will get familiar with our surroundings and other fences. There is access to the forest and two ponds on the property. Crossing through the tree line, you have private access to the 6-acre field. Four-foot tall fencing is installed for your security. The best time to come is May to September. Come walk between the sunflower rows that grow up to 10 feet tall in the late summer! We cut the field between the sunflowers, make trails and play spots. We also leave big areas untouched for our honeybees (hives located in the other field). Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy. Have fun, play catch and let your animal have unleashed freedom! We have uploaded a printable "safety map" for each season, that contains a legend for your use. Note the fire pit is not available during the winter season. Park has one main gate. This season we will also be placing picnic tables with a BBQ for large groups. I recommend booking the summer weekends in advance as they will fill up fast! Fencing Details: The 6-acre Dog Park Field is permanently fenced with approximately 2,500 linear feet of 4’ tall farm fence. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh (commonly used for smaller livestock such as sheep, donkey, cows, etc) and cedar posts. If you look at the photos you can see the locations of the gate on the main photo or on “safety map” (see photos and captions). We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park in case your dog does not have good recall. Refer to the safety map (see photos). If you have any questions, please let me know.
