55a peaceful and quiet place for my reactive pup, with great views for the humans too! the view is even more beautiful than the photos. agree with all the suggestions for water shoes, we were very happy to have them to lead our dog into the water. luckily, there was a long-lead to borrow, but it would be wise to bring your own lead and gear because there is plenty of space and varied terrain for the pup to sniff and explore. we would have been sad to not have a long-lead.
55Went this morning, was our first time going to a sniff spot and this one is awesome right on the water. Scarlet loved smelling everything and playing in the water. And the owner was super helpful with a bit of confusion I had finding it at first. Will definitely be coming back!
55Rented this spot for my dog reactive dog, so that we could do a test run in my kayak and not have to worry about other dogs. It was so private and quiet, just what we needed. I found taking the narrow path/rocks down to the water, rather than the stairs, was actually easier. The water level was high so not much beach but it still worked out well. She actually did some real swimming which she doesn’t normally do. Plenty of room to get the kayak in and out, too. Highly recommend and we’ll be back again!
55My two labs had a great time swimming and exploring the waterfront property today. There’s easy access to the water and as others stated, the last few stairs from the deck are steep, but my dogs and I took the path adjacent to the stairs and it was no problem at all. You definitely need water shoes if you plan to go into the water, as stated in the listing. The pond was pretty full, so not much of a beach but my dogs were there primarily to swim so they didn’t mind at all. The road into the property is what you’d expect for a rustic camp in the woods: narrow with some ruts and muddy spots. I did chuckle to myself while driving down the dirt road, thinking what won’t I do for my dogs? A sedan would definitely struggle on that road, but my Subaru did just fine. My girls loved their own private water access. They swam for an hour & half straight, and passed out on the drive home. My girls love swimming and live for retrieving, especially my youngest pup, and it was so relaxing and much less stressful letting them just swim and not feel like I need to constantly look over my shoulder, worrying that other dogs or people might show up any time. Well worth the money for that peace of mind and to seer my dogs enjoy themselves so much.
55Such a nice spot! I did at one point think to myself “SURELY I missed the turn to the camp” because it’s a longer road than I thought but right after that I got there - so don’t lose hope! 😂 there was a neighbor with an off leash dog on their dock but it stayed over in its area and wasn’t concerned w us at all so my reactive boy still had plenty of space to do his thing. Mjae was super communicative too!
55Amazing spot! My dog loved getting to swim. Very quiet place as well. Be warned, the rocks are slippery getting in, so I’d definitely recommend wearing water shoes. Will absolutely be back!
55🫶🏼🫶🏼 only place I can tan and my boys let me
45If you have older dogs it’s harder to get down because the dock is out because of the water level. But my other pups had a great time. We will be back.
55Mjae is very responsive to her guests! From the first time of trying to find the property to the second she shares all the details she can to ensure you have a stress free experience with your pup! Abigail and her humans will be back again and again!
55The description of this spot is spot on. The lake is great and we had lots of fun. Sitting at the picnic while your dog plays in the water on a 90 degree day is such a dream. My dog is reactive and this spot gave us a quiet place to play.

Description

This spot is dedicated to our fur babies! It’s the perfect spot to give high drive, high energy, high loving dogs and their humans a safe place to run, bark, learn, train, swim, sniff, relax and smile! It’s a great place to throw a tennis ball, swim, relax, read a book and walk the camp road.

Hazards

Just a heads up…..A tree recently fell down and ripped the power lines off the building. The wires are down across the stairs. CMP came and shut the lines off. The power lines are NOT LIVE. It is scheduled to be fixed. The tree has been removed. The LAST STAIR headed down to the lake is steep. Please be careful. With all the current rain the lake water is high and the beach area is under water but your dogs will still be able to swim! There is a high rock wall that would not be safe for small children. Please be aware. Lastly, there are 2 metal poles right off the edge of the water. They are visible to see. They are for the docking system. The water level is high right now and the dock has been removed to prevent it from floating away.
