55High Rock Meadow never fails to leave my little pack happily exhausted! They live to sprint after each other down the hills, up the meadow, around (and around and around) the trees, over the logs, through the ferns, and back up the hills to do it over again. They really enjoy sniffing around the big stumps (where we are certain woodland creatures must dwell) and climbing as many of those trees as they can. This week they were excited about the new sand pit / digging zone 🙌 They would like to thank Phyllis for the extra fun toys and drinking water, too! I have been delinquent posting reviews this summer, so I'm including photos not only of today's adventurers but also the last couple months 🤩
55Very nice and secluded area, fully fenced and nicely maintained! My ace was so happy and tired by the end of his visit 🐾.
55Oh gosh, my foster pup had the BEST. TIME. EVER. At this Sniffspot. So much room to run free, oodles of things to sniff, sticks he could grab and chew on everywhere, obstacles/trees to jump on, shavings to roll in…. He was confused at first in the sand pit (I think he experienced sand for the first time just the day prior), but then it gave him MAJOR zoomies, and he was ecstatic to go flying back and forth into the pit over the tree stumps, then start digging away. He didn’t stop moving the entire hour, and totally passed out asleep on the drive back. As for me, I loved all the little quaint attention to detail, the poop bags in different locations throughout the spot (although I did have some with me), the water jugs and dog bowls, toys to play with (although the spot itself kept us plenty busy!), the “photo op” opportunities, etc. it was almost as much fun for me as for the pup! Will definitely be back.
55Our visit to High Rock Meadow today was a joy! The host's communication was excellent, ensuring we had all the necessary info before our arrival. The clear signage at the site took any guesswork out of navigating the area, making our experience smooth and enjoyable. The spot itself is a doggy paradise. Nestled among the most beautiful tall cedars, it provided ample shade on this warm summer day and added to the serene ambiance. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the lovely trails and romping in the spacious, securely fenced area. We especially enjoyed the thoughtfully placed seating areas, which allowed us to relax while watching our dogs. It's evident that a lot of love and care has gone into making this Sniffspot not just pet-friendly but truly welcoming for pet parents as well. In summary, High Rock Meadow is a treasure for dog owners. Its combination of safety, beauty, and the joy it brings to our dogs means we'll be returning. If you're looking for a safe, scenic spot for your dogs to let loose and enjoy nature, you won't be disappointed!
55Absolutely lovely sniff spot! Had a blast hanging with our puppy and practicing off-leash skills. He looooved the dig pit, such a great addition!
55Love the new sand pit for digging!!!
55I finally found out the reason why this place is popular. It’s huge, filled with many awesome trails and just the perfect space to be in.
55My foster dog Moose got a much needed run, sniff and explore. Phyllis thinks of everything when it comes to making this a fun experience for dog and human.
55This spot is wonderful. The owners are always keeping the trails clean and secure and constantly making improvements to an already fantastic spot.
55Second time here and our pup always loves it!! So fun with the new sand box!! Love the new cooler for humans too! Thanks so much for opening your beautiful property to us!

Description

High Rock meadow is a 2+ acre securely-fenced natural meadow, surrounded by forest. Please note that this is NOT a manicured lawn space; it is a sloping meadow with uneven footing and heavy ground cover. You can explore a network of walking trails that wind through the perimeter forest, while your dogs romp in the meadow and zoom along the trails. There is no end to sniffing material in this 2-acre playground! Again, the terrain in this spot is uneven and sloping, with some steep areas on the trails and possible muddy areas. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended. Those with mobility issues may have difficulty moving about in this spot. Additionally, we are located in a rural neighborhood and there are times when neighbors practice shooting. This is more likely to happen on weekends, so please keep this in mind when scheduling with dogs who are distressed by loud noises. I'm currently accepting bookings up to 1 month out. Finally, I use a Facebook page to post pictures, videos, updates, last minute openings & discount codes, etc. related to our spot. Please like or follow our page if you are interested. Search for "High Rock Meadow Sniffspot" in Facebook. We also have Instagram (@HighRockMeadow) but I'm still learning and I'm not very good at it! We also love to get tagged on social media, so...

Cleanliness

Hazards

The natural meadow area of the property has very uneven footing (cracks and holes from mountain beavers) with vegetation cover, so extreme caution should be used when walking in the meadow (dogs do fine with their four feet!) There are a few areas with blackberry brambles and small runners that cross in the meadow and can cause tripping (we are continually working to locate and remove these as well as the large berry vines). There are some stinging nettles starting to emerge, and we will be working hard to remove as they can cause swelling if dogs touch them (they are mostly located in the areas of the larger berry patches, and along the back part of the fence. Established trails through the perimeter forest have decent footing but can also have some uneven ground, some steep areas, exposed roots etc. Take extra care when walking in the forest areas that have not been established as walking trails. If there are strong gusty winds, please stay in the meadow and out of the forest as limbs and trees can fall.

Extras

Birthday "Paw-ty" Package$30

Includes set-up with decorations, special treats, dog bubbles, goodie bags for each doggy guest (liver treats & High Rock Meadow coupon), and a bandana & party hat for the guest of honor. When booking, ensure there is an open hour prior to your start time (I will need to block this for set-up) and include a note indicating the number of guests (doggy & human), the birthday boy/girl's name & age. I would also love to have a picture of the guest of honor (attach this in the chat function).

Additional rules

While we expect guests to make every effort to locate and pick up their dog's poop, we understand that "poop happens", especially in an area with the size and natural terrain/ground cover of High Rock Meadow. We greatly appreciate guests who graciously choose to pick up poop they discover (using provided bags), regardless of the dog that may have produced it, knowing that another gracious guest will get the one they missed! *Bringing kids is fine, but PLEASE supervise them at all times to make sure they are respectful of the place. Please do not let them play with or move the figurines that are hidden in the forest. *We keep extra rolls of poop bags inside the dispenser on the inside of the gate post. If you use the last bag on a roll, please open the door on the dispenser and start a new roll. Thanks! * Please use garbage can inside the gate for dog waste and used wipes only (we have visiting bears). * The Sniffspot supply box has clean water bowls, towels, wipes, first aid kits (human & dog), mosquito repellent, hand sanitizer, and a few toys. Jugs of fresh water are just outside the box. * Please empty any used water bowls and leave them upside down in the crate to the left of the supply box, along with used toys. We plan to provide enough clean bowls daily for each guest to have a fresh one for their dog(s). * Small towels (in the "Clean Laundry" bag) are available for drying seats (and dogs). Please deposit any used towels into the "Dirty Laundry" bag inside the supply box. * We also greatly appreciate guests who return any supplies such as wipes, bug spray, etc. to the Sniffspot supply box at the end of your visit. * Please let us know if you used any first aid items from the kit so we can replace, and be sure to let us know if you encountered any unexpected hazards, along with a good description so we can work to fix. * Please no smoking or alcohol (Sniffspot policy) on the property. * Please make every effort to be on time so you will not meet other guests on the driveway (do not arrive early or leave late). Thank You!
