25We actually didn’t stay. When we pulled up there were two dogs that looked to be living outdoors. They were in a separate fenced area with a indoor enclosure of some sort. The dogs were barking at us and we felt that it would have been too much for our dogs. We also wouldn’t have felt comfortable letting them off leash.

Description

Welcome! Come enjoy the yard it has a running creek so your animal can have a nice drink. At the moment there is a wood chip pile that dogs are welcome to run up and down on. There are logs of they want to run those also. I am home a few days out of the week. I won't be a bother to you while you are here on the day's I am home. There are chickens out some days and other days not. The chickens do not bother my dogs. Also my dogs would be put away during the day for the most part. Unless the dogs are already out while upon your arrival they won't be out during stay. Someone does come and let them out. The yard is unfenced and close to the highway. Highway can be seen from yard. There is a county fence blocking the freeway and the yard. Cannot guarantee that there is no holes in the fence that animals can get through.

Wonderlane

Embark on an enchanting Pacific Northwest rainforest adventure at Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot for Dogs and Their Best Friends - Bring your friends and their dogs too! Unleash your dogs and frolic with your beloved friends in the lush embrace of our hilly Pacific Northwest natural rainforest. Wonderlane beckons you and your best pals to explore 66 years of history across 2 acres of established trails, over 9 terraces, under towering old-growth trees, listening to the gentle murmur of a clear creek, accessible by your choice of 2 gates. Close the black entrance gate behind you before you park. From the parking area choose your path— the left or right trails —and meander down Flying Horse Lane or Waggin' Tail Lane to The Landing Pad, where trails weave into playful circles perfect for a game of ‘Hide and Go Seek’ or a chase! At the forest edge, the Madhatter trail invites you to a serene creek, a secret haven at our fully fenced sanctuary. For environmental reasons, the creek area is not fenced. Our hilly forested land, a tapestry of guardrails, fences, gates, natural barriers, rolling trails, springs and creeks, is a haven for play. These trails, once trodden by horses, have been lovingly reclaimed from invasive brush and dead trees, now fun for paws and feet alike. We’ve nurtured this tranquil forest back to life by planting more than 600 saplings. The canopy of Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yew, BigLeaf Maple, and Alder, filled out as soon as there was more light. These trails whisper stories of the past. In the spring, summer, and fall, lush frilly leaves decorate every breeze with greenery in motion. Wonderlane isn’t just a place; it’s an experience—a Sniffspot designed with your dog’s joy in mind. While they dash through wood chips and Pacific Northwest duff, under ferns you’ll enjoy the sight of a 20-acre forested wetland, a living vista of nature. Though some wildlife is a rare sight, the forest is alive with the songs of songbirds - sparrows, finches, thrushes, grosbeaks, and a host of other birds, such as majestic American Bald Eagles are seen here. Walk, run or pause on our soft wide paths and let the forest’s secrets reveal themselves uniquely to you. We’ve spent more than five years crafting this haven, just a mile from the South Sound, for you and your friends to run, walk, sit, and revel in the company of your dog(s). And when the day’s adventures are done, two Starbucks await to refresh you, 3 minutes and 5 minutes away. Join our community on Facebook, by searching for “Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot,” or ask a warm and friendly nearby AI to direct your browser there, and see tales of joy. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 Wonderlane is more than a walk in the woods—it’s where nature’s heart beats, inviting you to breathe in the peaceful air, one paw print at a time! If your dog ever hesitates to leave, a ring of the Magic Chuck Waggin’ Triangle will bring them running back. Reminder in certain conditions, or if visiting around twilight bring repellent or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you choose, onto the creek area. There may be bug repellant near the treats containers. By the way, we've never seen deer here. The creek is best for physically fit individuals. If you need assistance or more info, please contact us directly. Keeping Wonderlane pristine is a collective effort, and we value your help in maintaining the beauty of our shared space. Please use the garbage bins at the top driveway entrance for disposal of any waste. Please close the hydrants completely. Press the hydrant water handle into the completely closed position after use. If the water is not pressed completely closed it affects our water system pressure. Please close every gate. Dogs must be leashed going to and coming from the parking area, and may be unleashed when entering the dog park. We rely upon guests to contact us and tell us immediately if they need anything. To be fully fenced please roll shut the main gate after you park. The forest area is fully fenced, some doubled. There are 2 gates that lead to the creek so you can control access. PS if you wonder about the fencing here, some guests want the creek fenced too, which isn't possible due to environmental reasons. Please roll the gate into the open and securely hooked position when you leave, thank you! Enjoy the forest’s magic at Wonderlane. --------------------------------------- Thank you to the many regulars, Sniffpass holders, and new guests who clean up after their dogs so very well!
