55Always a lovely visit!
55My dogs love this spot and today they didn’t want to leave 😆 Thank you to our wonderful host for giving us the opportunity to come here and for all of the great toys and seating you provide.
55We skipped a few weeks but weren’t disappointed when we returned. Krista added more seating, a gazebo covering for extra shade and new water buckets that are huge! This spot always keeps us coming back. We love it and highly recommend you stop by.
55Krista has a beautiful space, completely enclosed so that my pups could run around and sniff to their hearts content!! Definitely would come back!
55Wow! I don't know where to even start with this review. First, thank you to our host. Outstanding communication from beginning to end. Tons of information provided and instant follows-up with messages for last minute changes to our original reservation. Krista was fantastic! Thank you. The care that the host puts into this Sniffspot really shows. From the moment the gate is secured, our five corgi-teers had full range of the property. From the barn to the wooded areas to the pickleball court to the chicken coop, they explored, sniffed, played, ran, and wrestled until they paused for drinks in the many water bowls made available throughout. Clean, well-maintained, toy-filled spaces easily checked off the list what any puppy pawrents would want in a Sniffspot. The five corgi friends - Penny, Yoshi, Lily, Bandit, and Nugget - had a blast! Absolutely loved this spot and looking forward to coming back. Thank you again for hosting.
55Lovely spot. My puppies loved exploring the woods, the barn, and the rest of the yard!
55My boy had a blast! This spot is well maintained and has so much open space for exploring, sniffing, and playing. The hosts communication was excellent, so we knew exactly what to expect. The whole experience and location itself were very welcoming and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
55This was our first visit to a Sniffspot. The place is very clean and comfortable, both for the dogs and the humans. Our two dogs, a golden and a mini Aussie absolutely loved it. They ran and found plenty of smells to investigate. Can't wait to bring them back.
55My pup was secure here! She is pretty reactive so I was nervous about her seeing other dogs and people but we were completely alone which was great. She was still pretty nervous about the new area and hearing the chickens but I think a couple more visits and she'll feel really good here. GPS lead me straight to where I needed to be and the instructions on where to park and what to do when you get there are super clear!
55Perfect spot just to let your dog run around had a great time thank you !!

Location

Port Orchard, Washington

Description

We have a barn for indoor training, lots of toys, chuck-it station...as well as 2 grassy acres of running space for your pups! We are also curently modifying the 60x80 sandy horse arena to use for obedience/agility training. We have reactive dogs ourselves so we understand those that need a PRIVATE space to exercise their dogs. Our 3 dogs will be inside during your playtime, please try to keep dogs off front porch to eliminate ours barking and distracting your pups fun day. Dogs are curious, almost ALL of them explore the front porch… please don’t stress over this (we’re not), we just ask to redirect so our dogs don’t distract yours with barking.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Please DO NOT open the horse stalls. We have a small flock of chickens contained in the barn and don't want them freeroaming.

With over 50 years experience with horses and dogs, we have downsized our horse involvement and decided to use our parklike property for dog owners who needed a private play spot for their dogs. I love seeing our personal dogs (2 Australian Cattle Dogs and a Rhodesian Ridgeback) enjoy our property but there's plenty of playtime and space to go around!

Pig Beach (near Port Ludlow)

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry.
