55We had a wonderful time as always racing on the trails and looking for gnomes. We found a couple of new ones since our last visit. As always well maintained and enough fencing where needed.
55Amazing place! We absolutely loved it!!! Walter had an amazing time running around and barking at all the elf’s 😁
55Always a great time for our senior pup who has anxiety and aggression issues. It is so wonderful to see her run and frolicking through the mini forest of gnomes! Thank you for sharing this space!
55Such a great spot for our dogs. They love to run ahead and then back again….so many trails and lots of smells…they love it!!
55Such a beautiful space! I enjoyed finding all of the hidden gnomes and other creatures and artwork that were thoughtfully placed around the trails. My dog had a blast! I ended up keeping him on a 30 ft lead just to be extra cautious, as there were farm animals present and he is quite the escape artist. Once we approached the parking area, we were greeted by a couple donkeys! There is fencing separating the donkeys from the parking area, but if you have a highly reactive dog I would recommend keeping them on leash until you get farther back along the trails. The trails are well maintained, easy to navigate, and all loop around back to the parking area. Again, we had so much fun and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a calm walk in the woods :)
55Not sure who had more fun- the kids or the dogs!
55Thank you so much for this lovely Sniffspot! Lots of great trails and space for the dogs to run!
55This was an awesome place for our senior rescue dog with anxiety. First time we had her off leash since we got her two years ago. She had a blast! Love the characters and cool finds in the woods. We will be back!
55Great sniffspot all around!
55Great place. Always well maintained.

Description

We have a number of wide moss covered walking trails through the woods. The property is fully fenced with wire fencing. But it is NOT dog proof fencing . There is a natural wide buffer between trails and fencing in most spots. The west side has privacy fencing, hogwire fencing on the North and a creek borders the Southend. . We have dogs on the property but they do not go venturing into the woods unless we are with them.

Hazards

***Do not let your dog out of your vehicle until you are all the way back in the woods at the parking area. We have had issues with dogs escaping into the neighbors livestock and creating havoc. If your dog has poor recall, it’s preferred you keep it leached. There is a creek that runs through the property as you head towards the parking area. You won’t run across it if you stay in the woods. This is a wooded area, sticks and branches may fall when windy. Hello we are Harold & Moira. We are huge dog lovers. We’ve both had dogs are entire lives. They are our lives, Moira is even a mobile dog groomer! We love taking our dogs on walks but hate having to have them on a leash. Here they can be safely off leash enjoying nature with you undisturbed.

Hike up the mini forest

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, check out Sniffpass. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you have older dog/s and would like to drive below the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Sniffspot is unavailable if Cabins are booked or vice versa. Booking is through Hipcamp (www.hipcamp.com). Name of listing: 'Grace E.'s Mini Forest Cabins'. But I would unblock the hours for Sniffspot use if that day isn't booked for Hipcamp, so please try to check back, who knows that day might be available! Anyway, hope you too will enjoy your little 'hike up the mini forest..'
