35This is a really nice good size yard with a lot of nice shade. The location is also super convenient for me as it’s only a 15 minute walk. However, I ended up leaving a half hour into my one hour visit due to the neighboring dogs. When I arrived the neighbors took their two German shepherds up to their deck and my dogs originally had a nice time running and sniffing around. About 15 minutes into the visits the neighbors allowed their dogs to run the fence line and bark. I did grab my two dogs multiple times to bring them to the other side of the yard and waited for the neighbors to potentially bring their dogs in. But it really defeated the purpose of bringing my dogs somewhere they can be off leash when I had to keep grabbing them. I did feel bad for the neighbors as it seemed they were just trying to enjoy a nice Saturday morning outside with their dogs. Alas it felt weird and disruptive to the entire neighborhood to have two large dogs continually barking with their owners yelling for them to come back or play with a ball. This Sniff Spot may be fine for those whose dogs aren’t reactive or bothered by other dogs or people. To those people and dogs I would recommend 100% as the yard is beautiful and clean!
55My dogs enjoyed this spot today. Easy access to the fully fenced backyard - it was a nice quiet neighborhood & Water was available. I will definitely visit again!

Description

Welcome to my home in Bristol, CT! My backyard is about .5 acres and fully fenced. There are 2 entry ways, however the right side entrance is usually easier to get into. I have 2 corgis of my own, but they will stay inside while your dog is at play. I also have children, so I have a playground and lots of kids toys outside if your child would like to join in and play! My backyard includes: a shaded picnic table and benches, a hose, dog bowls, hand sanitizer, a poop scooper, and lots of room for your dog to run around! & more! Some DISCLAIMERS: after a rainstorm, our yard gets very wet! Plan accordingly. My neighbors on either side have dogs. My neighbors on the right side have 2 big German Shepherds. Please try your best to pick up after your dog, turn off the hose if you use it, and make sure the gate is properly closed. Thank you and enjoy!

Hound Hill Rustic 1 Acre Fenced Private Dog Park in West Avon

Find us on Facebook! Search: Hound Hill, 1 acre fenced private dog park in West Avon Hound Hill is a fully fenced one acre wooded doggy paradise. We have our own pack of four dogs and created this space for them. They use the large yard daily but will always be secured inside the house for the entirety of your visit. Hound hill is an unimproved wooded area, but we have cleared brush, leaves and sticks for easier walking and playing with your dog. Our fence is mesh critter fence which is wildlife friendly for the deer, bears, bobcats and other animals that travel through our property. If you are looking for a large space for fetch or just to let your dog explore then this is the place! Please note that the dog park is on a hill and there are no paved or flat areas within the park. It is recommended that you wear good shoes with traction and are comfortable walking through an unimproved wooded area. There are rocks, sticks, leaves and uneven terrain. If you have physical limitations this park may be very difficult for you to use. When you arrive please take time to walk the fence line with your dog on leash first to ensure the fence is intact. Due to the nature of critter fencing and the abundance of wildlife, we have had occasional breaks caused by deer and bear as well as branches that have fallen. If you spot any issue please message the host and they will immediately address the issue. We love this fence because it does not entangle the wild animals and is very easy to repair. This means we have to inspect it often, and we do, but for the safety of all we encourage each doggie chaperone to do their own visual inspection before allowing dogs free rein. We do treat the area with cedar oil for ticks. We do not use any herbicides or pesticides or fertilizer. Please pull all the way into the drive and park in the gravel spot to the left of the garage. There is marked parking for one vehicle. If you have additional vehicles please park the second vehicle in the culdesac and walk in. Do not block the garage doors. Enter and exit through the gate directly in front of the parking spot. Please do not use the gate on the other side of the lot for any reason. Please do not use the smaller fenced area directly off the back of the house. Please pick up after your dog. Removal of dog waste is imperative in order for us to continue to offer this spot. Water is available via the hose located on the fence near the trash can. The white plastic container can be filled as needed. Please dump the water when you are finished and place the bowl upside down to keep it from collecting rainwater. Thank you so much for visiting, I love seeing our clients and their dogs enjoy themselves so much while playing freely!
