45Great space. Super cute and chairs to sit. Couple times running my pups ran on some chunks of glass or broken bottles. Totally normal in any yard in Chicago. So would recommend doing a walk around before letting your dog run around! Otherwise perfect place
55Large space. My dog was able to fetch and get a good run in. The neighbors dog did come out, but it was at the end of our time and by then my dog was so tired she didn’t even react. No poop in the yard. Definitely will come back
45Great space for dogs to run and get nice sunbathing if it's sunny out in the afternoon. We loved the yard and I'd like to go again. Nobody's fault but 4 stars, because a dog I took does react other dogs that she was distracted by the back neighbors' dog so much when the dog was just watching us over the fence, so I felt bad for both of them.. It may be good at least if the fence is covered by something??
55Great spot! Nikkole is excellent with communication and really cares about her guests.
55nice yard with good fencing
55This spot was perfect for a little play date. The yard was clean and easy to enter.
55Our dogs LOVED this spot! Plenty of space to play fetch and sniff. Street parking was easy to find and the instructions were clear. The host was friendly. When we visited the majority of the yard was shaded. We will definitely book this spot again! Our dogs approve!!
55Space was great and clean. Will be coming back!
45Nice big yard, but next door neighbor’s dog is very visible and close only separated by a chain link fence and my dog is reactive.
55Perfect space in the city for my reactive pup to play. Clean, two lawn chairs, fenced in.

DO NOT ENGAGE WITH BACK NEIGHBORS. Any issues please let me know. My dogs are not kept here, but the neighbors dog is sometimes in their yard behind the yard. There is a chain link fence behind the yard that separates the two....I am looking at getting a wooden fence installed soon.

I did not know that this was a thing so please excuse the yard if it is not up to par. Right now it is just a grassy fenced in spot. As I learn more I will try to make upgrades.

Cleanliness

90% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

It's a side yard that we just let our dogs run around in. I didn't even know that this was a thing. So I'll try to make it better as I learn more.

Notice: We are closing the spot on May 23rd for maintenance. Sorry for the inconvenience. Grass and rain: Please keep in mind that during moderate to heavy rains the area without mulch can get muddy. Beginning May of 2024, we will post pictures daily to our Instagram account showing the condition of the spot. As you can imagine, due to the wear and tear the spot gets, it’s difficult to keep the grass alive. However, we do our best to reseed during the spring. BarkPark sits right across the street from The Salvation Army Freedom Center. This spot is fully fenced (chain link and wood) with the side facing the sidewalk being 5ft and the rest of the fence being 6ft. There is a dual-gate entrance to the spot for a safe entry and exit. Street parking is available. There is plenty of seating at this spot with shade throughout the day. There's a rain barrel filled with water for dogs to hydrate and cool down. We have water bowls available. GIANT sandbox that's great for digging and playing; no digging elsewhere please. On hot days, we do our best to keep the sand wet. Trash can onsite. We have poop bags available in two different areas for easy access. Half of this spot is covered with grass and the other half with playground mulch. This spot is big enough to get a good fetch session in or to just let the zoomies out. We also recently added agility equipment. We hope you and your four-legged friend/s have an exceptional time during your visit and choose to come back. Lost toys and items: Due to the amount of visits we get we aren’t able to track which items belong to which guest. If you’ve lost a dog toy or other item, please reach out and we’ll do our best to retrieve it and hold it for you. If you don’t reach out, we’ll hold onto it for a week and then add it to the Lost and Found Toy Box. Water: The dog drinking water gets changed 1-2 times per week, depending on the temperature/usage. During the winter months we empty the water barrel. If your dog/s require water during the winter months, we ask that you please bring your own. Food: You’re welcomed to bring food but we ask that you please clean up as a courtesy to other guests. Future additions: We hope to add more amenities over time. Our plans are to add more sand to the sandbox in late April or early May of 2024. We’re also hoping to have on-site parking around mid summer of 2024. If you have any suggestions for amenities, we’d love to hear your feedback.
