35I went back and forth on whether or not I would post this review, since I have never posted a negative one before 😅 I wouldn’t necessarily call this a negative review, but more so a safety concern. Upon arrival there was an unsupervised tiny off leash dog who ran up to our car, thankfully we were able to see him before our dogs were allowed to exit the vehicle. A good portion of people who use Sniffspots have dogs with reactivity, which is why this app is so great to be able to find places where you don’t have to worry about running into other dogs! I say this out of concern for the small dog since he could get seriously injured if he were to surprise a person and their dog reactive pup while visiting the Sniffspot 😭 When I knocked on the door I was greeted by a nice young man who told me that I would have to get the dog inside myself since the dog did not like him. Thankfully I had treats and a history in dog training so I was able to do this, although it took me about several minutes. Now, let me say, this Sniffspot is WONDERFUL with TONS of room for pups to run and play aside from that. I am hoping that the owner can make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future, and only write this review out of concern for the tiny dog and since I saw on a previous review that the dog had been out for someone else’s visit as well. If you have friendly dogs, this is not an issue whatsoever! This review is only for dog reactive parents such as myself and so that hopefully the owner takes further precaution in the future or at least makes it known in the bio that the spot is geared towards dog friendly pups only. Love and light, Camron and pups
55Amazing spot with tons of space to explore!🌲🐶
552 hours was plenty. We had so much fun exploring!
55Large area for you and your pups to explore! One hour was not enough
55This Sniffspot is perfect for dogs—lots of space to run and a lovely creek. Michelle was awesome and really came through when I had a car issue. Definitely worth checking out!
55Lots of nice trails and the dogs loved the creek.
55incredible property, Michelle and her kids were so kind and showed me where to head out on the property. Unfortunately we don't live in the area, otherwise we'd be back regularly. Goose was able to get good exercise in before a 5 hour drive home and slept the entire time.
55Great place. Our dogs 🐶 enjoyed the view and Creek😍
55Super : fields, water, trails! Quick communication w host /enough bars of service to do so at site. A bit muddy still —its spring! The little dog accompanied us the entire time :)
55It was a wonderful spot for us. The creek was flowing. There were fields and hills and woods. It was all delightful.

60 acres of upstate New York forest just for you!

NOTE: ON HOLD UNTIL DEC 9 ( DUE TO HUNTING SEASON) Greetings! Our land is a mix of flat grass (think lawn), some long/short pasture, and the majority being heavy wooded forest area. You will enjoy some rustic logging trails up there (but please don’t expect a perfect state park-type path). The terrain can be steep to climb to the top depending on your skill level. Once you are at the “top” of the hill, there is “flat” land that you can hike (I’ve even jogged up there - slowly!). For those of you that like a challenge, besides our two pathways up the hill, we offer a very steep side of the hill to climb. One of the photos shows water – that is the case if there is a heavy rain (likely September/October) but please know we don’t always have a running stream. We do offer a hose and bucket to rinse your dog’s feet at the end of the stay. The photos with the leaves are from last year – this is what the property looks like in autumn. November starts getting cold. December will bring snow with some plowed areas. For winter, you and your dog can frolic in the snow and we can provide you with towels, wipes, whatever you may need to "clean off" before getting back in the car. With advance notice, we can provide coffee, tea, or cocoa. For accessibility: if you use a wheelchair, you can drive your car onto the land and use the flat part of the land if you can access grassy lawn. If there is interest, I can take your friendly dog up the hill to run around for a nominal fee. We are new to this so please ask questions. Consider this spot “forever wild” woods. It is incredibly calm and peaceful up on the hill. You can quietly listen to the woods or bring a radio and sing to your dog loudly. If you are not a climber, even playing fetch behind the barn is nice. Note: inside the barn is off limits. This is a working property and there are tools, tractors, and such that are not good for any animals. Please Remember: there are no fences and we have a state highway in front of our property. All the area that you would use would be set back an appropriate distance, but I want to be clear for everyone sake that there are no fences. If your dog does not come back when called, perhaps this spot isn’t the best for any off-leash activity. Wild Animals: There are deer in the woods (and some dogs love to chase deer!) so please keep that in mind as well. We have also seen rabbits and an occasional skunk, raccoon, fox, groundhogs, and even a porcupine once. We hear coyote sometimes but I have not seen any on our land. Central New York has been known to house bobcats, mountain lions, and bears among others, but I have yet to see them on our land as well. We do see bald eagles on occasion. Lastly, your reservation is for 90 minutes to allow for time to truly enjoy nature.
