55What a fun and adventurous spot for our dogs! Lots of areas to explore in a very secure location.
55Jenna is a really considerate and communicative host! The play area is completely fenced and decently private. It’s easy to access, quiet, and has a considerable amount of space for the dogs to roam and run. We have booked this Sniffspot multiple times — it’s our favorite!
55Beautiful property! Exactly as we expected! Had a great time!
55pup had so much fun, as always! loved jumping over logs and running through puddles!
55Everything is perfect at this spot. The main thing that makes it perfect is the 5 foot chain-link fence that has no gaps and no holes. The other thing that makes the spot so much better than every other spot is single track paths that you can play hide and seek on “The woods” is the perfect place for us. one of my dogs is Car reactive, but he has such a good time trying to find me that he doesn’t chase the cars we work on it all the time but this is the one place where I feel it’s rehabbing him to hear cars and see they aren’t going to hurt him
55We had another great time playing hide and seek on the hidden paths.
55One of the best sniff spots we have been to! Our two big dogs loved racing around in the Woods!
55Amazing spot as usual! River had a blast
55Highly recommend. Directions were easy to follow and the space was spotless. Adding the additional 3 acres is well worth it. My dog loved running the trails. The fencing in both areas is secure and well thought out. We will be back!!
55My dogs LOVE the thick woods and trails! so much exploring. (guest dog also thoroughly enjoyed)

Description

2 acres with 5 foot chain link fence surrounded by forest and wetlands. This offers a distraction-free place for your dogs to get their zoomies on! You get both shade and sun, with grass, dirt, wood chips, (and a bit of mud in some spots during the rainy season). We are in the country, so our park doesn't share a fence line with neighbors. You won't see any other dogs. There could be far away dog barks from a few blocks over, but nothing up close. We don't use toxic sprays, so rest assured it's a natural and safe place to romp and play in private. The 2 acres has mature trees throughout and is mowed during the growing season. It's perfect for throwing tennis balls and getting lots of good sniffs in. You will be able to see your dog at all times (unless he/she is hiding behind a tree.) If you add "The Woods" extra (see below) detailed instructions will be within the Sniffspot park, on the SouthEast fence next to the big red bow.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

In the wet season, there is a small "pond" that is mostly muddy water. Dogs love it! People should bring towels for the happy dogs. :) There is a hose/nozzle to easily spray your dog off. I strongly recommend NOT letting your dog drink out of the "mud pond", particularly after a warm day. There is a nice fresh bowl of water that is a much better choice. The property is gently hilly and has fun things for dogs like sticks, holes, grass, dirt and wood chips. People should be careful to not trip over the fun dog things (sticks, holes, etc.) :) In spring/early summer, the number of mosquitoes will vary based on time of day and sunny spots vs shady spots, so if you have bug spray, bring it just in case. The rest of the year doesn't have mosquitoes. If you added "The Woods" extra to your visit, be aware that it's a forest with holly trees that have sharp leaves, blackberries, dense undergrowth, vines and uneven ground. Dogs love all of this, but it could result in a poked nose or scrape if they decide to dive into the undergrowth (based on experience, they will.) It will be wet and muddy in the winter and spring. The trails have tripping hazards (stumps, vines, uneven ground) so wear good shoes and pay attention while you walk. All worth it if your dog is the type who loves an independent run and exploration in a forest! And you have the hose to rinse your happy dog off before heading home.

Extras

The Woods$9

Add 3 acres of fully fenced forest with winding trails. The Woods is wild forest. Trails are carved so you can explore as your pup gets in touch with their wild side. Your pup can easily be out of sight as he/she races ahead on the trails and through undergrowth. Don't worry, the 5 foot chain link keeps your pup safe. In late spring/early summer come prepared for mosquitos in the cooler times of morning. Long sleeves, spray, or book mid-day appointments if you have a very short haired dog.

I've had dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities my whole life. I understand the plight of a pet parent who has a sensitive dog and can't do public spaces. My acreage was built to keep a 95lb husky/greyhound and a 20 pound terrier contained and safe. I'm lucky to have a great dog place, and I welcome you to enjoy this space with your dogs!

**NEW** Sniffspot 2 We now have two spots available; we’ve opened a new one we are calling “Spot #2” that is located in the front pasture. This space should experience far less standing water and mud during the winter months. It also features a covered area and picnic table for your use. It is closer to May Valley so does have more road noise. If your pup likes to splash, feel free to use “Spot #1” as usual. If you’d prefer a cleaner experience, Spot #2 should provide that. There’s no difference in booking, just that you can pick which spot you’d like. We may at times need to close one or the other due to standing water or maintenance, but there should always be one spot open. We are working to ensure all amenities of spot 1 are available. Spot 1 *fall/winter update* We are working to get the heavy mud under control, this may take a few weeks. Please bring boots and be prepared for dirty dogs. We have various levels of flooding during the winter; the spot has is anticipated to have mud and large puddles. At times we may need to close the spot due to excessive flooding (no dry land!).  Please reach out if you have questions about how much water is in the spot.  Keep in mind we also have increased migratory waterfowl in the pasture adjacent. 1 acre of flat field in a beautiful setting. One large tree in the corner. Fully fenced approx 4.5’ with predator fencing. We have motion lights that come on at night, not super bright but makes the spot visible during early night winters. Boarded by two, large pastures, a private road with limited use and our barn. Occasionally during the wet months flocks of geese/ducks may land in the wetlands adjacent. We have goats, turkeys, geese, ducks and chickens but they are on the other side of the property and should not be seen/heard. We have two dogs, Veles and Flora, that will be on the other side of the property or in the house. There is a covered bench and trash can in the spot, fresh water is also available. An outdoor bathroom is available for use, see map. When using the bathroom please keep your pup in your car as it is near our goats and free range chickens. We look forward to hosting you and your pup! Please reach out if you have questions. -Jenn & Drew

Magical Mossy Forest

Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot is a large mystical woodland adventure for dogs in Redmond on the way to Carnation. Boots are recommended in the winter rain. MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week.
