55Amazing place!
55This place is absolutely gorgeous! Super big, fully fenced, no other dogs seen or heard with a creek and beautiful spots to explore
55We had such a great time today. We did some truffle -hunting (little tins) I put out with truffle oil in them (I have an app that marks the location with GPS so I can re-find them if my dogs can’t. And ran a track for Koda. Eris swam and ran hard. Love that I can do so much at this spot.
55Great sniff spot! Junebug was in heaven!
55We love this Sniff Spot. It is probably our favorite because my dog have a lot of space and I can let them run knowing the fence will keep them safe.
55Incredible time! Absolute paradise!
55Beautiful property!
55Love visiting this beautiful place and I especially love the creek area which changes with the seasons. My pups and I love wading in the creek which surprisingly is warmer and clearer in October than it was in July. The tadpoles that were abundant in the summer are now frogs and we love watching them jump and hide in the ponds. This place is truly Nirvana☺️
55Another fantastic visit. We love this place!
55Always a fun time! Highly recommend. Also a great spot for dogs that love foraging and running thru fall leaves!

Other dogsNo

Other dogs

No

There will be no other dogs on my property. however, a dog may walk by on the private neighborhood road outside the property periodically with their owners. they will not be on the property but would just walk by on a country road on one side of the property. it is fully fenced there (although the fence is not a privacy fence). I have several dogs who will be inside. However if people or dogs get close to the house this may cause them to bark and you will hear them. you may hear a dog bark in the distance. since all properties out here are large acreage there is not a lot of noise so when dogs bark from far away on another property you may be able to hear it even though they are several properties away.

Other domestic animals

No

There are no other animals on my property at this time. this is a rural place with minimum 5 acre parcels. neighbors on one side could have horses in the distance separated by my fence and theirs. my horses are currently not living here which is why i have made the place available for dogs to play. horses could also be ridden by on the private neighborhood road outside the property across from the fence and could be seen by the dogs. wild ducks and geese are periodically on ponds. the geese and ducks are wildlife not domestic animals. they will fly away if they feel the need so don't worry about them. there may be baby geese or ducklings in the late spring and early summer so if that’s a concern don’t book at that time of year.

Description

Come enjoy yourself in the country! We have over 10 fully fenced acres that include two spring-fed private ponds for dogs that like the water, some slight hills for running and playing, lots of wide open space and a beautiful creek. There will be no dogs, people or animals outside on my property during your visit. Please just bring your own toys and pick up after your dogs. I look forward to welcoming you! * The entire 10+ acre perimeter of the property is steel mesh fencing with poles and/or steel mesh fencing in horse fencing to keep the entire perimeter secure and safe. PLEASE NOTE there are TWO FENCING SYSTEMS here -- the internal pastures that are fenced in 3 rail white fencing and the perimeter fencing which consists of steel mesh to the ground and large log poles and/or 3 rail fencing with steel mesh down to the ground. The pasture fencing is located INSIDE of the separate property perimeter fencing. If a dog runs under the white interior pasture fencing they are still secured within the perimeter system. * The front gate and a service gate are metal with horizontal rails with 6.5 inches between each rail. Smaller dogs could potentially get out through the rails. A picture of the gate is included in listing photos so that guests can assess whether the gate will be an issue for them so they can determine whether this property will be appropriate for their pup(s). * This property is pretty secluded. Two sides of the property are surrounded by conservation land (woods), one by a quiet neighborhood road (with the only house set back and not visible while on my property) and the fourth (above the house and barn) by 60 acres in two parcels. The neighbors ' horses might be seen in the distance along the upper side of my property and you might hear their dogs barking from several acres away periodically. * Several pastures have covered horse sheds in them that can be used by visitors for shelter from rain or sun. * There is a dog dish for water, a container of water, poop bags and several garbage cans for doggie poop bags! * If you bring additional guests with pups PLEASE make sure they are aware of all information/rules shared in the listing and via message by the host. * Carey Creek runs along the entire south side of the lowest pasture. It is fully useable for guests. it is on my property but outside of our secure fences so if you go out the gates at the bottom of the property to get to the creek you should leash up if your dog has poor recall. * We have access across the road from the property to 1800 + acres with 30 miles of trails on Taylor Mountain (King County Park) so make it a day and come enjoy our little slice of heaven!

Hazards

This is a well maintained rural property. However there is still uneven ground, periodic downed branches, noises of the country in the distance, etc. The property has 2 private ponds. If swimming in the big lower pond please keep them from swimming into the middle of the pond or across the whole pond to avoid the fountain. It comes on via a timer and is very powerful. The cables that secure it run North/South from the little structure by the pond to the fountain and across the pond to the pastures. All around the sides of the ponds is absolutely fine! Thank you. Be aware that algae can bloom during warm months. There are geese and ducks in the ponds. I don't worry about dogs chasing them as they will fly away but If you are worried about your dog chasing them it probably makes sense to look for another sniffspot. There is absolutely nothing I can do about them (I have tried believe me) so they are here on and off. The geese and ducks are wild and If chased they will fly away or hop in the pond. I have also had a guest tell me recently that they saw an otter! I haven’t seen him yet but she showed me a picture she took of him by the big pond. If you are concerned about the otter it also makes sense to go to another spot. Ponds and other bodies of water come with potential things such as leeches, fish, etc. please be aware of this if you plan to have your dog go in the ponds. As pond vegetation grows in the summer leeches could attach to them. They aren’t harmful The waterfowl poop on the lawn around the ponds. While it is cleaned up every few days it is impossible to eliminate goose poop as the moment it is cleaned up 14 fly right back in. Deer and elk sometimes visit the property overnight and leave droppings to let us know they were here. Wild animals such as coyotes live in the area and could enter the property. This spot has a water feature, make sure to review these guidelines for visiting spots with water before visiting: https://help.sniffspot.com/article/167-how-to-keep-your-dog-safe-around-pools-and-water

Additional rules

* Three car maximum per visit. * if you are early wait OUTSIDE the main entrance gate to the property (the one you drive through when you first get here). Someone else may be out on the property with a reactive dog who might run out the gate when you open it or worse. Driving in early could create a disaster. When you enter the gate you enter the sniffspot so it is important to wait to enter until your reservation time and to also leave on time. * Please pick up after your dog. * Please do not allow dog to dig in the grass lawns or pastures or in the garden beds. * To the extent you can please focus the majority of your visit to the pasture areas as the grass there is more hardy and holds up better to rambunctious dog play. Other grassy areas are open for play as well but to help me try to keep the place nice (and keep it available as a sniffspot) it’s best to hang out in the large open pastures in the white fencing for the rowdy stuff 😊 * Please do your best to keep your dog(s) (and kids) from approaching the house or hanging around the front porch or other doors/windows. * We follow the rules of King County parks here...Please do not consume alcohol, smoke (anything) or vape during your visit. * Please refrain from going in the area on the NW Corner of the property. The barn, arena and the area behind the barn and around the arena are not part of the sniffspot as I want to make sure dogs do not accidentally go in my barn or near my barn equipment or composting facilities. * Please check for messages from the host via the sniffspot messaging system. Please respond to these messages.

I love dogs and all animals and have three boxers here who live at my ranch in Maple Valley (Hobart area). My dogs love it. I understand the need for dogs to have a place to run that is private and secure. Since my own dogs aren't outside on my place all the time I thought it would be nice to open it up so others could enjoy the space and safety. The perimeter fencing was lovingly and carefully put up to keep my own dogs safe and secure. It provides such a peaceful and safe environment. I love sharing my property with other pup parents and it has been a joy to hear from so many guests who have made special memories with their furry family members while visiting my sniffspot.

Hello and welcome to our Sniffspot! We hope you enjoy your time here. Just a reminder to please pick up the toys and water bowls that you use when here and place them in the 'used/dirty bin'. This ensures a clean space for the pups that visit after you. Thanks! It's a large, open one acre pasture with plenty of room to run and play. Tall fir trees, our home and other single family homes surround the property. There are neighbors who walk their dogs or play with their dogs in their yards. There are no shared fence-lines but we are noting this in case your dog might be reactive or sensitive to seeing and hearing other dogs and people. There are also chickens nearby - see note below. Double gated entrance for security. Park along the fence on the gravel drive. Plenty of room for your pup to enjoy the zoomies! A few things below to note, thank you! *🎾💦 For the toys and water bowls, we have labeled bins for 'clean' and 'dirty/used'. Please utilize items from the clean containers and then place in used/dirty so we can thoroughly clean them. There are cleaning materials in case you would like to sanitize or self-clean bowls or toys. Thank you! * 🥾The terrain of the pasture does have some dips, bunny holes and there is a section of mown grass, as well as a portion of longer pasture grass, and sticks from the fir trees. Wearing solid and/or waterproof shoes will help you navigate the land. *💦 There is a water jug and spigot with hose in the pasture to use for drinking water. If you use the spigot, please be sure to turn it off. There are small plastic pools available for warm days. You are welcome to use a pool, but please empty it after use and return it to the fenceline area. *💡we have 4 sets of string lights on our fence, two small solar spotlights on the fence, and one large spotlight on the far power pole (motion sensor). It adds some brightness to the pasture for evening visitors. Note that since it is an acre lot, there is a portion of the pasture that is still quite dark once the sun is fully set. *🐓 There are two hens and one rooster on a neighboring fence line and the gate to their henhouse yard has a sign (don't let the chickens out, no matter what they say), as well as a secure gate latch plus bungee cord. They will stay on the far side of their yard, and hide under the shrub/tree cover so are usually not be visible from the Sniffspot pasture, but wanted to share in case this is bothersome to some pup guests. Our rooster, as well as neighborhood roosters, are regularly heard. *please note: due to the burn ban, wildland fires and the dryness of our land, we ask for no smoking on the property at this time, thank you
