55This spot was fantastic! Our dogs love exploring new places, but it is not always ideal for us to take them to dog parks or other public trails, with one of them being reactive toward other dogs and the other terrified of new people. It was great knowing that we had the entire place to ourselves. The area was fully fenced so we were able to let our dog with good recall off leash. There was cold water and bowls available near the entrance, which was nice to have for our dogs after exploring. We will be back!
55As mentioned previously, Bella’s FAVORITE Sniffspot. She absolutely LOVES this massive 5 Acre fenced wooded area as much as I do. It gives her a chance to “explore” in an area that is “wooded” and not just one open area with no obstructions (I.e. trails, woods, etc). This is the number one reason Bella and I continue to visit this wonderful Sniffspot and will continue to do so. Although we don’t get to enjoy this spot as much (due to distance), it will remain our first choice!! Kudos to Jacqui and family for sharing their wonderful FENCED wooded acreage property to us that can’t take our “pups” to a “regular “ dog park. We appreciate you so much!! Again, Thank you! We love every minute we’re there. And of course we love JoJo and always say hello. 😊
55The instructions Jacqui sent me were very useful to learn what we need to be aware of. The place is in excellent condition, there are signs to help you get oriented, and we had a blast!! Wonderful place, 100% recommend
55Nice property, only portion of it open due to trail maintenance, but very nice.
55Lovely spot with a variety of well marked trails. The benches on trails were appreciated by the humans. Host was friendly with clear communication as to parking. My senior dog stayed on leash and from her smile and nose to the ground had an enjoyable excursion. We would return.
55As always a wonderful visit. This continues to be Bella’s favorite “Sniffspot” and it’s a joy to see her soaking it in!! Thanks Jacquai!! We appreciate the use of your wonderful spot!!! If it was closer we’d come so much more. lol. Thanks again!!
55We loved the property! We normally do long leash walks and this fenced in trail area was awesome to test out how our dog handled off leash walks and he did great after about 20 minutes of being on leash. There were toys, poop bags, areas to sit if you need to, and marked trails either information as well. We will definitely be back.
55Another happy dog checking out a snifspot for the first time! So lucky to be near this one absolutely worth the drive
55Beautiful place with amazing hosts! They even reached out before hand and filled the kiddie pool with fresh water for my pittie! The trails and signs were adorable, it was fun to watch my suburban dog explore and investigate the farm animals. The beginning is stocked with everything you might need (I ended up going back to use the bug spray which was a life saver). 10/10 would recommend!
55This is a beautifully maintained property and so well run. Everything is thought of. We look forward to going back in the fall when it’s cooler out. We took a reactive shelter dog on a field trip and seeing the donkey and turkeys was really good for her

Description

Lazy Bones Acres offers 5 acres of wooded hiking trails for you and your furry companion to enjoy. Pack a lunch to enjoy on one of our picnic tables along the way or simply take in the peacefulness of the forest and wildlife. Listen to the squirrels chase each other in the tree tops, the woodpeckers pecking away in a nearby tree, or the geese honking at a nearby pond. Wildlife that are commonly seen on visits include deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, chipmunks, a beautiful array of wild birds, and much more. *Our terrain is uneven as it goes through woods. If you have trouble with balance or walking, please reconsider your visit to our property for your safety. Trails are kept clear, but raspberry and blackberry bushes present thorns, please use caution with these prickers. ** Our spot is fully fenced, however if your dog is not command trained we do not recommend letting them off leash. Dogs have a natural instinct to chase the rabbits and squirrels we have.

Hazards

Our trails are wooded. While we strive to keep our trails fully groomed and clear, part of the outdoor experience means there may be burrs, thorns, mud, ticks, wild animals, and uneven terrain. If you have balance trouble or struggle while walking, we encourage you to reconsider your visit to our trails for your safety. While our spot is fully fenced, if your dog is not command trained, we do not recommend letting them off leash. Dogs have a natural instinct to chase the squirrels and rabbits we have here. *Pet First Aid Kit (along with some human supplies) and bug spray are in the dog house by the Trail Entrance.

Additional rules

Just a couple quick deTAILS: 1. Please discourage digging. 2. No professional dog training sessions. Trainers interested in using our property for sessions must contact us directly to make arrangements. Training sessions may NOT be booked through SniffSpot. 3. Off leash does not mean out of control. Please be sure your dog responds to your commands before allowing them off leash. There may be areas in the gates that dogs under 30lbs can squeeze through. Occasionally, the fence may be low in an area due to deer frequently crossing. While we strive to repair this as soon as we notice it, occasionally, it may be missed initially, and the fence may be low enough for a dog to jump if a squirrel catches their eye. This is why it is important to keep your dog leashed if they are NOT command trained. 4. Our property is almost fully wooded, while not required, we recommend a tick and heartworm prevention/protection for your dog. Along with woods comes mosquitoes. We offer repellent, but you may also bring your own. Please remember, we are a wooded Sniffspot. If you are not the outdoorsy type, our spot may not be for you. 5. Please keep Trail Entrance gate closed and LATCHED at all times. 6. Please do not drive up the private driveway. Parking is on the grass, immediately to your left after pulling through the driveway gate. You will see a sign for parking and trails on your left. 7. Our property is a working homestead. There are farm animals. The donkey is in his own enclosure, but is visable. The chickens, turkeys, and ducks typically stay in front but may occasionally wander onto the trails and this js beyond our control. We understand accidents may happen so please just let us know if your dog gets a bird. If you are uncertain how your dog will react to farm animals, please keep them leashed for the first visit to monitor their behavior.

We're so excited to share our love for animals and the outdoors with fellow animal lovers! My husband and I have rescued and adopted many animals over the years. Currently, we are owned by an English Mastiff. We feel that allowing dogs to explore new surroundings and scents can keep their minds and bodies young and working. We're happy that we're able to open our trails for your dog's physical and mental enrichment!
