45I think this property has all the makings of being a 5 star property. It is large with much to explore. The brush is quite high, making it hard to see and figure out where you’re going. As a result we never found the pond. There are some ‘trails’ mowed out, but I wish there were more. We did find the creek as Clayton let us know it was along the property line - but it was not easy to get to. Cleo had a lot of fun playing in the creek once we got there! It was a nice width, and not too deep. The property is not fenced, which we knew. But it is seemingly out in the middle of nowhere, so I wasn’t worried about her getting away. At one point we got separated (she went through brush I couldn’t go through and I went in a different direction to get to a pathway). Luckily, I was able to call her once I got free and she found me. But if you have a dog without good recall, it could be a problem.

Where Dogs can be Dogs

This is a very quiet place on a country road where your dogs can be off leash and free to explore nature. The full four acres are surrounded by a 5 foot fence and there is a small creek running through the property. There is a wide spot in the creek that is easily the most popular spot for our canine visitors! There are larger fields and open areas for your dogs to practice their retrieving, and there are many paths in the woods for hiking. The beginning of each path is marked with quartz stones to show you the way. You will also find several benches scattered throughout the property so that you can take a load off while your dogs run and play. When it rains the property can be quite wet in some areas, so bring boots and a towel to clean off your muddy (but happy!) dog. There is a full competition size agility field within the four acres. The agility equipment is completely fenced in and will be accessible only to those who have had at least one formal beginner's agility class. This is to keep you and your dog safe and to prevent misuse of the equipment. Please message the host when you book the spot and before your first visit to discuss your agility experience if you are wanting to access the equipment. **I would really like for your first visit to be on a weekend or a Tuesday (my day off) so that I can meet with you to show you some details about the property and discuss parking. After the first visit, book whenever you want! If you absolutely cannot make it these days for your first visit, we can work something out. 🙂
