55Our favorite spot!
55Hands down, the best sniff spot in Thurston County. Something for every dog here.
55This was a great space with lots of room for my pups to run and explore.
55Absolutely our favorite spot! Clean, well-fenced, easy to locate.
55We had a great time! The boys loved exploring!
55Lovely wander - in a few days the field will be full of blooming daisies. There isn’t a Sniffspot sign in the parking area, but the rocks are in fact giant and it was easy to use pictures to verify I was in the right spot. No clear indication of property lines, so worries about angry neighbors kept me from exploring as much as I might have. Otherwise it was a great spot!
55Beautiful property with lots of room to run and explore. The three dogs loved it and slept like rocks on the way home. Really happy to have found the property and look forward to returning. Highly recommended!
35Presented accurately.
55The area was beautiful and pretty open. I did pass the designated parking area upon arrival but immediately realized this as I saw the giant boulders. The parking area is larger than I had imagined. There is so much space to run and play. The muddy swale area is no joke. We did attempt to cross at the top as requested. Once we crossed we realized that that side of the property was very wet as well, maybe we didn't go far enough? (My socks were already wet by this point) It is probably so much better in the summer. We stuck to the side in front of the parking spot. My dog and my daughter had a good time wondering and exploring the area. Unfortunately, it started raining heavier than we could handle and ended our time short but my dog was already tired by then anyhow. 🙂
55Beautiful area. Lots of running and exploring space. Easy to find. It is as described partial fencing. Mine didn’t notice. It’s stunning and we will definitely be back

Description

Just about 10 acres of open rolling prairies, creek, and forest for you and your furry one(s) to roam. There is poor cell reception at this Sniffspot, so it is recommended that guests screenshot the picture of the boundaries (picture #2) to reference when you are here. Sturdy shoes and pants are recommended. This is a natural forage prairie area. There are blackberry bushes along the road and some fencing, but gaps do exist so exercise caution. That said, there is plenty of room far away from the road to play fetch, run around, explore etc. Stay to the right of the power lines when viewing from the parking area. Please try to stay out of the muddy swale area. The best place to cross this area is at the bottom (see picture #2) where the creek starts. Booking availability times are M-Sun 8AM-6PM.

Large 1/3 acre lot, perfect to chuck it far and tire out your canine.

Added an outhouse with hand sanitizer, covered seating area, privacy screen along fence to help with anyone walking dogs down the street or the neighbors concrete business. Mostly quiet neighborhood where you can feel safe to let your dog run and dig. Large playground tunnel equipment for your doggy to play in! Don't let the darkness defeat you taking your canine out to play! Installed 3 street lights to keep the early darkness at bay. Light timer switch is on the left inside the dog two way gate. Lights take a couple minutes to get fully bright. Now you can play with your dog from 6am to 9pm. Enjoy this private area that you can let your dog off leash without having to worry about anyone interrupting your time with your dog. Picnic table with cover. Water dish, poop bags, waste bin, sticks and balls with a chuck it at entrance. Coordinate with a friend and meet here to let your dogs play together while you catch up. We charge $13 for the hour space rental so, *please mark only one dog even if you are bringing more* The space has a long grassy open [360 feet] area to use a chuck it for dogs that love to fetch. A large cedar provides shade on half of the property while the other half is in the sunshine. This is a fun spot for dogs to exercise their legs and noses. Please check back for future upgrades. Any suggestions on obstacles or improvements please message me. Thanks for considering enjoying canine time here!

124 Acre Conservation Farm Trails Fields Fun

Follow our FB page for open days. Farm store now open! Swing in before your appointment and grab some retro sodas, dog beer (YES I SAID DOG BEER!), artisan smores kits and so much more! CASHLESS sales at the store please. Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. WE BLOCK OUT ALL DAY BOOKINGS FOR SNIFFSPOT APPOINTMENTS.
