55We love it here! Very secure and quiet escape from the city.
55We had an amazing time at this spot! Our dog ran every inch! Enjoyed all the toys that were provide and the water since we forgot ours.
55We loved this spot and will definitely be back!
55We hosted our pup’s 4th birthday and half a wonderful time! Plenty of room for all 6 pups to romp along with some kids. Thank you so much for sharing this space and we will be back!
55My dogs had an amazing time as always! A wonderful spot and beautiful setting.
15There was all sorts of debris/broken plastic, disintegrating and broken balls at the site today. There have been a few in the past as we’ve been to this site many times. and I’ve always been able to pick them up so my dogs don’t choke but today there was so much debris that one of my dogs swallowed something and now is in a lot of distress. I’m likely going to have to take her to the vet because of this. I realize the owners don’t have total control but obviously they leave toys and balls out way too long. This is very dangerous.
55Great spot! Plenty of room for our year old puppy to run and work on her recall!
55This is my new favorite spot!! My dog had a blast, he loved the little pool and all the room to roam! We’ll definitely be back :)
55Extremely kind host! This is our favorite spot to come to. Huge property, always clean, has fresh water always and a clean bowl set out. 1000/10
55Wonderful place. Our puppy celebrated her 1st birthday with her best doggy friend. So much fun we almost stayed past our time slot!

Turn sharp right onto the new road. Do not go straight to the main entrance gate. Proceed on the new road to the field entrance gate. You can park outside or enter the field and close the gate behind you. If you prefer to park outside, leash your dog and proceed into the dog field, it’s great threshold work. We have added a portapottie next to the gate,

Description

NEW: Free U-Pick Blackberries! Shade Gazebo! Kiddie Pool! Working farm and private duck lake on Sauvie Island. Perfect spot for dog parties, work off leash, practice recall, minimum distractions. Ideal for two or more dogs who like rowdy play, plenty of space to disengage and reengage. Livestock may be in adjacent pastures.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Cocklebur seeds have shown up in the grass by the wetland. Not advised for long hair dogs. This is a farm, so livestock and livestock “byproducts” are inevitable. Also, farms in winter can be wet and muddy. As well, the island is a migratory bird wildlife refuge, so “byproducts” from sand hill cranes, herons, geese, ducks, etc are also inevitable. No ticks have been found here to date. Additionally, reactive and working dogs may not be able to share fence line with livestock, and unless you request otherwise, livestock may be adjacent. Please note, this is a working farm community as well as wildlife refuge. There is a muddy wetland, there may be farm equipment, heavy trucks on rural highway, neighbors dogs, livestock, deer and other wildlife- evaluate your dog’s bandwidth to create the best experience.

Extras

Extra info$0

Ideal location for off leash training, liberty work, recall and relationship building. Also ideal for two or more rowdy dogs, plenty of space to disengage and re engage. This is a farm, so winters can be wet and muddy.

Nature in the City Private Dog Park

Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, a tall grassy wetland-like area, several nature trails for hiking adventures where your dog(s) can explore, run & feel free, and a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk on logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit it will have more open space, more trails, and the blackberry bushes will be trimmed back. We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is fully secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We just added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who need to visit after dark. They light up the entryway, main field, and the shelter. Thank you!

Montana's 5 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Camas: Closing October 21st for winter.

Closing October 21st for winter. Kiddy pool has a hole in it, so will be unusable until further notice! Please read ALL descriptions (including photos) before entering property. Return the toys and balls to where you found them, to the best of your ability. 5 acres is a lot of ground to cover, and if I have to round everything up after you visit, you will be blocked. Losing a ball or three is no big deal, it happens lol, but not picking up after yourself is rude. Please leave the place as you found it. Don’t knock on my doors, and do not ask me for my phone number. We have 3 separate fields. Black berry bushes are very present in all fields. FIELD 1: Closest to busy road, least suitable for free-roam incase of delivery or neighbor utilizing third gate on easement. I consider this field “the buffer zone”. Best suited for dogs with proper recall skills, or for those who want to hide biodegradable items in the rock piles to be found. Orange flags indicate boundaries with a buffer to prevent trespassing onto neighboring property back into the woods. There are times when I have to leave or enter the property, which I will notify you if this is to happen during your visit. Our three dogs will be heard from this field (from inside of the house). You will find the 2nd gate entrance here, into field 2. Look for the black garbage can, as well as blue kiddy pool to navigate to field 2. FIELD 2: the best field! Our backyard. It is completely fenced in, private, and safe for dogs 15lbs and up- smaller dogs such as our 9lb dog need to wear a device to recall because fencing is large enough for them to escape through. The fencing is approximately 3’ high. Horses can be seen from this field on neighbor’s property, along with their dog, Cooper. It is sloped, which is excellent for exercise! There are trees blocking our house and windows for privacy, easy gate access, and accessible water. There is a nice view of Mt. Hood, and a couple of log benches around the property. I try my best to maintain and refresh a kiddy pool and the water bowl. I strongly recommend against use of field 3 during foggy periods for safety of your pets. Should a dog without proper recall training decide to wander off in field 3, you will have a LOT of ground to cover without much sight distance (on foggy days). Water access is in field 1 by the house, please turn off with hose in “on” position to prevent built-up water pressure in the hose. Field 3: this is an excellent field for dogs with recall skills. Through the first two fields, is field 3, a property long and flat, one which openly borders our neighbor’s property. You must go through the gate at the bottom of field 2 to enter this field. While this field is technically entirely fenced, the entire property is not all ours, so we have marked boundaries using orange flags. Please reference photos for what these orange boundary flags look like. The orange flags indicate hazards along fence line, entrance to bee hives, and boundaries between properties. Cautions: Coyotes frequent this lower field on a weekly basis, so large dogs with proper recall training are advised only. I strongly recommend against use of this field during foggy periods for safety of your pets. Should a dog without proper recall training decide to wander off, you will have a LOT of ground to cover without much sight distance. Also, coyotes tend to be more active during these foggy periods. This field (field 3) is a split property (2 parcels), half ours, half theirs. The neighboring owners have bee hives! Please be mindful of bees, and maintaining general boundaries (see photos of orange flags designating boundary lines). It’s quite rugged, so be mindful of wild animal scat, mole holes, and uneven grass. There is a digging area here too. I have seen coyotes, skunks, deer, owls, a feral cat, and bunnies in this field. Horses and neighbor dog cooper are sometimes visible. Please contact me with any questions!
