Fall 2024 Updates: It's acorn drop season and our large oak tree is dropping tons of them. If your dog likes to eat stuff off the ground our yard might not be the best fit during this season. We want our pup friends to have a safe fall. We’re planning to stay open throughout the winter this year but will be closed when the ground is wet to protect our lawn and prevent muddy spots. Hi! I'm Alyssa, a rescue dog owner with a ~1/3 acre yard perfect for your dog to enjoy! We have a mix of gardens, grass, mulch, and leaf areas great for sniffing and playing fetch and a bin full of fun toys and treats. We have a special basket of small dog toys upon request. We provide cold water for humans, bug spray, and hand sanitizer. We spray our yard every 5 weeks with a natural oil mix to help reduce mosquitos, fleas, and ticks. Reactive dog owners should note that our neighbors on both sides have dogs that may or may not be outside during your visit. They are all friendly but will probably bark to say hello or run the fenceline with your dog. (No dogs live in the yard with the chain link which is newly covered). I recommend leaving your dog on a leash to walk the yard perimeter and ensure they're ok with neighbors' dogs. We provide a bucket of extra treats to help with training and distraction. Our girl loves a "sniffari" where you hide treats around the yard to sniff out. ⭐️ Important notes ⭐️ 🐶 All dogs must be FULLY vaccinated (Rabies, Parvo, Bordetella, DHPP) Please do not book unless you are sure your dog has all their shots. Puppies less than 4 months old that are still building up vaccines should stay at home. 🐕‍🦺 Dogs MUST be leashed when entering and exiting the yard. Our neighbor across the street has a few outdoor cats we want to keep safe and our neighbors walk their dogs on the street. 🍃 Please do not let your dog eat or chew any of the plants in the yard. No excessive digging. 🌻 Please do not enter the gated garden area on the other side of the house. We keep our quail coop and turtle enclosure in this area and don't want them startled. Feel free to look in from the gate though. 🍺 Per Sniffspot's rules, no alcohol is allowed, and please no smoking. 🚩 We reserve the right to ban any guests who break these rules. We aim for mostly non-toxic plants in our yard but have 2 hydrangeas and hostas scattered around the yard. Watch for your dog eating acorns and pinecones.

-Pick up poop, bags available in the bin and by the gate, you can throw bags away in the garbage can outside the fence gate. -Don't allow dogs to dig holes -Make sure the hose is off and put away before you leave -4 cars max per reservation, park in the driveway. -No more than 4 dogs per handler, no more than 6 dogs per reservation. -Bringing friends/partners ok. All dogs must be accounted for in the reservation and up to date on all vaccines.

Hi, I'm Alyssa. I moved to Southside Richmond in September 2021 and adopted my dog Xena (The Warrior Princess) a month later! I work from home as a graphic designer for a non-profit so I'm excited to offer up my yard during the day. I also have a cat, Smalls (from the Sandlot) who might spy on you from a window.
