There is a huge field for your pup to sprint across chasing a toy, or just enjoying a run. • Dogs must be current on all vaccinations • Dogs must have a current Palm Beach County dog license. • No more than three (3) dogs per person. • Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the facility. • For the safety of your dog(s) and other visitors, choke, prong (pinch) and spike collars are strictly prohibited. If you use these types of collars, remove them before entering the facility. • No child under the age of 12 is permitted unless accompanied by an adult. • Aggressive dogs are not permitted on the premises. Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression. • Female dogs in heat are prohibited from entering the facility. • Puppies under 4 months of age are not permitted. They are still susceptible to disease, even if they have had their shots. • Dog owners must be inside the facility and in view of their dogs at all times. • All off - leash dogs must be under voice control of their owners. If you cannot control your dog off leash, keep your pet leashed at all times. • Dog owners are asked to keep their dog leash in hand at all times. • No food, treats, alcoholic beverages, (soft drinks and water are allowed), strollers, bicycles,, or children’s toys are allowed. This is a recreation facility for dogs accompanied by their owners. • Owners are to clean up their dog feces. Seal waste in the provided plastic bags before disposing in designated receptacles. • Fill any holes your dog digs, • Proof of a current vaccination and license is required upon request of a sheriff deputy or animal control officer. Tags may serve as proof. (ordinance #137). • Commercial/Professional dog training is not permitted unless approved by the Village. • No animals other than dogs are permitted. • Failure to abide by the above rules are subject to removal and may result in the loss of privileges. • All incidents and injuries must be reported to the Parks and Recreation Department by calling: (561)790-5124 weekdays; 8:00am-5:00pm. Wellington Dog Park

No personal items (toys, pools, etc.) in the park! All dogs must be legally licensed and vaccinated and wear a visible dog license. No animals other than dogs permitted in the park. Aggressive dogs not allowed. Owners/handlers of dogs displaying aggressive behavior are required to immediately remove the offending dogs. Dogs may be off-leash only within the designated fenced area. No dogs under four months of age. No female dogs in heat. Owners/handlers must clean up after their dogs - \"Scoop the Poop\". Owners/handlers must carry a leash and remain inside the park with their dogs. Owners/handlers must stop dogs from digging and immediately fill holes. Handlers must be 16 years of age or older. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and closely supervised. Maximum of three dogs per handler. Excessive barking is prohibited - dogs barking uncontrollably must be removed. Consumption of alcohol, food and use of glass containers are not allowed. Users of this facility do so at their own risk. The Village of Wellington shall not be liable for any injury or damage caused by a dog in the off leash area. The Village of Wellington reserves the right to close the facility for maintenance and repair.

No animals permitted: There are a couple of reasons why animals are not permitted. First of all not all pets are friendly to humans or other dogs. Secondly, not all owners pick up after their dogs thereby creating a health issue when humans use the facilities. No alcohol is permitted Field usage by permit only: In order to maintain above standard facilities they need down time. This time allows grass to grow and employees to groom areas that are heavily used. Field usage sport specific: No golfing. Some people don't realize that this tears up the grass and could pose a safety issue if others are using the park. The divots that a golfer leaves after hitting golf balls grow back slowly thereby ruining the area for others. Private Sport Clinics / Lessons: It is not permitted for private groups or individuals to conduct athletic clinics or lessons in town parks. Parking: Cars must park in designated parking areas. It is not recommended that you leave valuables in parked cars as some thieves target parked cars along the beach and in parks.

Barkland

A. Barkland is open daily from 7:30am to sunset. All persons and dogs must vacate the park when it is not open. B. All dogs must have current rabies shots and current rabies tag and license displayed on their collar or harness at all times. Dangerous dogs, as defined under Section 767.11, Florida Statues, are prohibited from entering Barkland. C. All dog waste must be disposed of immediately and completely by placing the waste in the proper container in Barkland. D. If a dog exhibits aggressive behavior it must be removed from the park immediately by the handler. The handler shall immediately comply with any directive from a Park Ranger or Broward Sherriff’s Deputy with respect to a direction to remove a dog exhibiting aggressive behavior. E. Owners or handlers of a dog must be with the dog at all times and may bring a maximum of two (2) dogs per person per visit. F. Dogs must have a collar and held by a leash when entering or exiting the park. Handlers must a carry a leash for each dog in their care while in the park. All handlers shall keep their dogs under visual and voice control at all times. G. Dogs that are in heat or sick are not allowed in the park. H. No animals other than dogs are permitted. I. Puppies under four (4) months of age are not permitted in the park. J. Children under the age of twelve (12) must be supervised by an adult at all times. K. If a dog digs, the owner or handler is responsible for stopping its behavior and refilling the area. L. No food, treats, alcoholic beverages (soft drinks and water are allowed), strollers, bicycles, or children’s toys are allowed in the dog park. M. Choke, prong, pinch and spike collars are not allowed in the park. N. Professional dog trainers are not permitted to use this facility for training. O. Dog pools are prohibited. O. Use of this facility shall be for a dog park; any other use is prohibited. Q. Owners and/or handlers shall immediately report all incidents in which his/her dog bites a human or another dog to the Broward Sheriff’s Office at (954)764-4357. Unless immediate medical attention is required for the dog or the handler, the handler shall wait at Barkland with the dog. R. All dogs must be accompanied by a handler while in Barkland. S. All handlers shall be at least 16 years of age. T. Barkland has separately designated areas of the park for dogs of different sizes. All handlers shall only place their dogs in the areas set aside for dogs their size. Dogs and their handlers, who violate these rules are subject to removal from the park and possible suspension of right to use the park and the handler shall be subject to prosecution for violation of a municipal ordinance. A handler who refuses an instruction to remove their dog from the park where such instruction is given by a Park Ranger or Broward Sheriff’s Officer working in the City shall be subject to separate prosecution for violation of this ordinance in addition to the action which caused the City to request removal of the dog.
