Our little slice of heaven is certified a National Wildlife Refuge. We have a large variety of birds and pollinators. We have a walking/bike riding trail, dog sensory gardens, an orchard to pick fruit from when in season, splash pools, agility equipment, horses next door to get to know, meadows to play in and sometimes there are foster puppies to meet. We have lots of spaces for humans to enjoy too; ie firepit ara with lots of seating, a couple picnic tables and various other seating for conversation and gathering.

Surrounded by Duke Forest and Triangle Land Conservancy forest on either side. Immediately adjacent to Brumley Forest south lot which contains over 600+ acres with trails for additional activities. Outside faucet with clean, potable water available along with several kiddie pools, benches, and playground equipment for the two-legged kids. A magical dog paradise! Tall meadow grasses to play hide and seek, dog sensory gardens to sniff, and a doggy pool to splash in. My puppy had a blast and the owners were wonderful to work with. This is our new favorite spot!

Our three pups loved it. The highlight of this trip for them was seeing their first horse. The space was cleaned and just as shown on the pics. There were plenty of toys for dogs to play with, as well as the agility course was nice.

Kimberly is a wonderful host! Her place is my dogs heaven! He loves it! I have never seen him roll in the grass anywhere else, only at the Lassiter’s. This is also the first time he encountered the horses, every other time they were on the other side of the pasture. He didn’t know what to do about them, except happily bark. He was Jumping, wagging his tail, prancing, just experiencing pure joy. Nick had the time of his life! Can’t wait to be back! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! You’re always so gracious and kind.

This is one of my favorite spots because of the variety of activities for my dog. He was really interested in sniffing everything, fascinated by the horses, and played with the toys. The area was clean and the fencing was secure.

What a wonderful spot! My foxhound Sandy loved it, so much to sniff! It was very therapeutic not only for my dog, but for me. All the different areas on the property really kept her interested. She’s not a toy or fetch dog (there were plenty of toys out for those dogs who love them), so this was perfect! We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back!

This was our first visit to El Ranchito and we were extremely satisfied with this beautiful spot. Both of our dogs had a great time playing with each other and all the toys available while being able to run leash free. They also met the pony next door (through secured fence). Overall, we will be returning and highly recommend to others. We felt our dogs were safe and secure at all times.

This is a really nice spot. It's quite large and there's a variety of types of planting plus some open space. You can tell that gardeners live here. My dog loves to hunt mice and she was able to do that along the fence and where the grass was taller. There are also quite a few nice seating arrangements for the people.

I have a reactive Boston and a bouncy 65lb Staffy Mix and they enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The horses next door minded their own and couldn’t care less that my Boston wanted all the smoke. He eventually got the point and just ran up and down the fence instead of being full on. The neighbors dogs couldn’t approach the fence and honestly didn’t really care about my pups so that put my mind at ease too. My Staffy loved running across the yard and sniffing all the corners! There were huge bowls filled with water for them! As a parent to an anxious dog, I had my reservations but was relieved when we got there. Not sure if we will book when they are fostering because the ponies and pups are enough but we will definitely be back regularly!
