Rescues medical needs and puppy mill dogs
As the Lone Star Dog Ranch began to develop a following on social media, Renee Eden was contacted by multiple rescue groups asking for her help and expertise in rescuing dogs on death row, discarded breeder dogs, and dogs in shelters. She found that she had the facility (the Lone Star Dog Ranch), the expertise, the passion and energy to devote time to dogs in need. In 2014 Dog Ranch Rescue, Inc. was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Dog Ranch Rescue is a separate non-profit business from the Lone Star Dog Ranch boarding facility. The rescue has it's own building and property adjacent to the Lone Star Dog Ranch property in Anna, TX. The rescue was formed to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need from various sources, such as puppy mills, local shelters and strays. The rescue provides medical help for each dog, houses them, rehabilitates, socializes and trains them. The rescue accepts donations from the public that help cover all aspects of the cost associated with this process. When the dogs are restored to good health, spayed, neutered and have all of their needs met physically and socially we take the necessary steps to rehome them. Each home that a dog is placed in goes through a rigorous application and review process to ensure a positive outcome. If the placement of the dog is not a good fit the dog is accepted back into the rescue and the process begins again. Since our inception in 2014 over 2,000 dogs have come through the door of Dog Ranch Rescue and gone on to enjoy a very happily ever after.

Adoption Policy

Complete application via our website: www.dogranchrescue.com and click on adopt a dog.Veterinarian reference check ‚ we will call your veterinarian to make sure that your current pets are seen regularly, current on vaccinations and heart worm prevention, spayed or neutered, etc. If your pet is unaltered, not seen regularly and not on heart worm prevention that we can verify we will not be able to adopt to you.Phone interview with Dog Ranch Rescue.Video Home Visit ‚ we require a detailed home video be sent to us. This must be narrated and include your entire yard and fence line, rooms inside your home, etc. We do this in lieu of a home visit in person, but expect the same detail that we would receive if we came to visit you.We do out of state adoptions frequently but you must understand that you would need to travel to the Ranch in Anna, TX which is about 30 minutes north of Dallas to meet your dog. A dog introduction would take place should you choose to bring your current pets and if all goes well you would then finalize the adoption and take him/her home with you. We are open to adoptions to Canada but once again the transport of your new family member as well as any documentation for your country would be your responsibility to get in order. Since you will need to either fly or drive to Texas to adopt, you must have thought through how you would come to meet your new pet in person and then transport your pet back home. If for any reason the adoption does not work out you must be willing to transport the dog back to the Ranch at your expense. For puppies under 1 year of age we require a work from home, take to work or non-working spouse/partner to be at home to care for the puppy. For dogs over 1 year of age we are happy to work with families that have a means to allow the dog to relieve themselves during the day while they are at work.

"Dog Ranch Rescue does the most amazing work in actively going to dog auctions and buying dogs that otherwise would be put (back) into puppy mills as breeders. They especially focus on dogs that are older or hurt in some way (missing a limb, blind, etc.) so they can bring some love and happiness to these neglected and mistreated poor babies. DRR partners with vets in the area to immediately address as many issues as possible and restore the dogs to health. Sometimes one of these rescues don't make it because the prior abuse was too awful, but those sweet puppy angels get to experience a little love and a good meal before they pass, held in gentle, caring arms instead of a filthy cage. It makes me tear up even writing this. Once the dogs are healthy, they are introduced to the pack, which have a huge beautiful outside area to explore and play in, plus a very large indoor area complete with comfy couches and all the amenities a dog could ever want. For those who need extra special care until adoption, they are put in foster care to ensure they get everything they need. DRR has strict requirements for foster homes and adoptees, making sure these special dogs are given a loving and safe environment with people who are willing and able to care for any special needs. They are very hands on in every aspect of rescuing these dogs... this isn't just a side project or day job for them. They ARE the rescue."

How This Family is Affording Their Dream Property Through Renting it Hourly to Dogs

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
