I have been a follower for several years as well as an attendee to several fundraisers for them. For such a small rescue they do an enormous amount of work to get the job done. The people are great
The Fairy Dawg Mother works with trusted partners in Colorado and nearby states to bring dawgs to the Denver Metro area, where they will have a better chance at adoption. We do our best to select dogs that will be highly successful candidates for placement with a new furever family, but change can be stressful for even the most easy-going dawg. Because of this, we work with foster families to start getting them stabilized, learn about each dawg's individual temperament, and provide training and guidance to the dawg.

Mission and Vision

We are a Colorado based non-profit dog rescue focused on finding the perfect long term home for each dog brought under our rescue umbrella. My Fairy Dawg Mother Rescue, Inc, established in early 2011, boasts a 100% success rate with over 800 dogs that have been placed since the creation of the rescue. MY FAIRY DAWG MOTHER RESCUE WAS FOUNDED IN AN EFFORT TO SAVE ABUSED AND NEGLECTED DOGS FROM ACROSS THE UNITED STATES, AND PAIR THEM WITH LOVING AND STABLE COLORADO FAMILIES. READ OUR FOUNDER'S MESSAGE. Our formula for successful placement of each rescue dog lies in a plan that includes foster homes, behavioral modification training, complete vetting, an adoption agreement, and a trial period offered to every adoption candidate with their potential canine companion

"I’ve gotten three dogs from this rescue and they have all been amazing even through their rough pasta and this rescue knows their dogs and is very supportive and steadfast in finding right placement and good placement for their dogs as well as a great resource with any questions that arise even if it’s not about a dog of their own."

jessica l.

Adoptee

"We’ve adopted and fostered from this rescue and there is NO other rescue in all of Colorado that cares about their animals as much as MFDM. They have been the biggest blessing in our lives and so many others and deserve every bit of credit they can get from the rescue community and beyond."

"MFDM is the best, we’ve always had good experiences & they helped us with 2 adoptions, 2 of the best dogs ever (in my humble opinion! Hah) & they’re the nicest people, who help so many deserving dogs, like my ol’ hounds. The foster atmosphere I think helps the timid dogs transition well, as they learn the ropes from their roomies & awesome foster parents."

"There was a grey hound at the vet tech school in Aurora Colorado. The chairperson of My Fairy Dawg Mother asked if I could pick him up and she would find a foster for him. The vet tech school had no vetting process for adopting their dogs. I just had to walk in and say I wanted to adopt him. The Chair had heard that he had been there over a year and she swooped in and rescued him. I have fostered many of her dawgs but this one stuck and I kept him. (I also rescued a basset hound to). She swoops in and saves the ones that are hanging out there alone. The ones on death row. We once picked up two giant overweight blood hounds that she found fosters for that fed them better until their walk across the rainbow bridge. She has a full time job and a full time job with the rescue. She helps all her fosters with then questions they have. Supplying food and whatever else the puppers need. I can’t count how many times she paid out of her own pocket to help these puppers."

"Love Nikki and her crew!! This is one dedicated group, always doing what they can and pulling from out of state rural shelters. Colorado is a GREAT place for adoptions and MFDM goes the extra mile to make sure any dog under their umbrella remains safe and secure to the end. She is an amazing individual!!"

"I was so lucky to be working at a job where someone had just found their dog (as companion to their older dog whose best friend had died) and found the perfect one after a disastrous experience with another dog rescue. This young man overheard me telling a co-worker that I just might be ready for a new dog. It had been 2 years since my previous dog, Tinkerbell, had died. He rushed in with a picture of Landry, a red bone coonhound. It was the perfect match. Some things are just meant to be. He came from Truman Arkansas after a realtor found him & 2 black labs (Grace & Jack) abandoned in a house for over 2 weeks. He weighed half of what he does now. I credit his LOUD howl for being discovered & rescued although I will probably never know for sure. I am grateful to My Fairy Dawg Mother for bringing him to me! He is the April cover of this year's MFDM calendar."

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
