"The staff at UCAPS are beyond amazing. The love and care they exibit every day is beyond words. I have adopted a few from there and they work just as hard at making sure these precious furbabies are going to loving homes as they do taking care of them till they are adopted. Like most shelters they are overwhelmed with animals but they keep their heads up and continue to work through their struggles."

"Our town would be lost without UCAPS. Hands down the most vital and important non profit in our area. Well run. Dedicated. Always with the best interest of the animals in mind. The staff works tirelessly with minimal resources. They are simply the best!"

"El Dorado,Arkansas, is famous for the 1920’s Oil Boom and it is the World Headquarters for Murphy Oil Corporation. Do you know what else we are proud of? Union County Animal Protection Society. Tanya Jackson is our very caring shelter manager who never gives up and never quits saving all the animals she can.Shes almost never off the clock and answers every call. She has an almost mystical, calming and loving spirit with the animals. We lovingly call her “Mama T”. Now, she may not be quite as charming when dealing with neglectful or abusive owners, but someone has to and they deserve it. Managing an animal shelter in the South is one of the most difficult jobs out there. So much of our area is rural and puppy mills are everywhere. If you want a dog or cat, just walk a block and you will find a stray or two or three. Our shelter is always overflowing but Mama T. Is extremely resourceful in finding suitable fosters, of which I am one, and doing her best to post adorable pictures on social media of cats and dogs needing homes. She has managed to procure an animal transport service that regularly ships adoptable pets to homes in states up North that don’t have anything near the overpopulation we have. I am proud to nominate UCAPS as one of the very best or THE BEST animal shelters in the USA!"

"As a longtime supporter of Union County Animal Protection Society, I can't speak highly enough of the incredible work they do. From rescuing abandoned/lost pets to providing them with medical care and finding them loving homes, this shelter truly makes a difference. Seeing the joy on the faces of both animals and their new families is a testament to the dedication and compassion of everyone involved. I'm proud to be a supporter of such a noble cause and will continue to support UCAPS in any way I can!"

"For a little less than a decade, I have worked with ucaps starting from when I was around 17. I started off doing volunteer work but later became an employee as I realized how severe the demand for good working animal lovers is in this area. Being on the autism spectrum, I have always had a deep connection and love for animals. There is a catharsis that comes from healing and nurturing them the best I can, and there is nothing like seeing these animals I love so strongly be happy and loved by others. I do my best to make sure all the ones under my care get some socialization and have something to look forward to on the days I work there. While I also work at a sawmill now, I consider the work I've gotten to do at ucaps to be the most important thing I've ever gotten to do, and it will always be a priority of mine to make sure my babies are taken care off until they may find a better place. The other staff I work with are incredible people that I have much admiration and appreciation for. I dont think there is anyone else that can fill the role that these lovely people take on despite how hard it can be. They have made such a massive impact on countless people and animals for the better, and I cannot use words to due justice in expressing how amazing it all is."

"I can’t imagine what union county AR would do without Tanya Jackson her staff and UCAPS!! They always go above and beyond they care and love these animals like they are theirs and some they have adopted themselves! (As have I) They work tirelessly day and night for the fur babies on our county they try and help future puppies and kitties that are unwanted by having spay and neuter clinics that people can afford and they have the TNR so the colonies of cats can be controlled some they are alway working and finding new and creative ways to raise money as they are solely funded by donations and involve the community so they can survive and care and love the animals!! They come help all hours of the day and night to rescue strays I’ve even know of Tanya (director) herself going and getting a deceased animal of a road herself so they have the dignity they deserve with a proper burial!! There’s not enough space to allow me to tell you everything they do and most of it is done silently no praise they just do it they do it for the love of our animals in Union county they never get enough thanks and praise!! So please allow them this recognition by letting them win!! We Love you UCAPS❤️"

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
