We serve North Carolina and we also rescue from Mexico

The US Dog Coalition and Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs facing various challenges. At US Dog Coalition and Rescue, our mission is simple yet profound: to make a positive impact on the lives of dogs and the communities they inhabit. Through our tireless efforts, we strive to provide sanctuary and support to dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, or abused, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve. With a network of dedicated volunteers, compassionate staff, and supportive donors, we work tirelessly to rescue dogs from shelters, streets, and harmful situations. Once in our care, each dog receives comprehensive veterinary care, training, and rehabilitation tailored to their individual needs, preparing them for a second chance at a happy and fulfilling life. Beyond rescue efforts, we are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership through education, outreach, and advocacy initiatives. By fostering a culture of compassion and understanding, we aim to create a world where every dog is valued, cherished, and treated with kindness and respect.

Mission and Vision

Our mission at the US Dog Coalition & Rescue is to improve the lives of street dogs in Mexico and the US through rescue, nourishment, and spay/neuter initiatives. Our goal is to promote companion animal well-being, eliminate unnecessary euthanasia, and empower communities through resources, education, and comprehensive programs.

Adoption Policy

Application: Start by completing our adoption application.Review and References: Once we receive your application, we'll evaluate any landlord restrictions (if applicable) and reach out to your vet and personal references.Meet & Greet: If your application is approved, you'll have the opportunity for a meet & greet. This can take place either at your home or the foster parent's residence. At US Dog Coalition & Rescue, we believe in creating perfect matches, and we base our adoptions on compatibility. It's not a first-come, first-served process; it's about finding the right fit for both you and the dog.Final Steps: After successfully completing the above steps, you'll receive a link to sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Rest assured, your new pet will be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and will be spayed or neutered (unless they're very young, in which case, they'll come with a spay/neuter voucher, to be used before the dog turns 12 months old). Additionally, all our dogs are microchipped for their safety. Adoption Fee: $300

"US Dog Coalition and Rescue has been instrumental in helping me succeed in the rescue of our dog. Numerous articles online explained the different stages a newly rehomed dog experiences during the transition and we were able to see our dog through all of them. I know the organization is just a phone call or text message away for us to receive spot on advice and counseling. We are happy to support them through a monthly contribution, knowing that the funds will go where they are needed. I wish there were more dedicated people like this in this world. Thank you for what you have done will continue to do."

"They put their heart and soul into dog rescue, support dog rescue in Mexico, dogs in great need. They don't just look at their homeland, but far beyond and support animal protection in many ways. Super motivated and personable."

"Wilma Herrera, Founder and Owner works tirelessly. The entire organization devotes their heart and souls into making sure that the all the dogs are vetted and placed into wonderful, loving homes. Dogs are transported from Mexico with a team of volunteers to get the dogs all the way to NC. Pulled off the streets where they would certainly not have a good outlook. Local dogs at risk are pulled from the horrible shelter conditions. We currently have one Shepherd puppy that was hit by a car. Two broken legs. Left front and back. A dedicated foster is lifting the pup to go to the bathroom outside all day long. This type of behavior is not extraordinary, it’s the norm."

"Us dog coalition has been amazing to work with! They answered all my questions and did a deep background check to make sure I was the proper person to adopt my Cassie. Definitely would recommend them to anyone for a new puppy"

"Family run rescue, they are constantly thriving to save lives not only from the streets of Mexico (with all the challenges that international rescue implies) but also from high kill shelters in NC. This is a small rescue so everything is twice harder but the results and lives saved are NOT small! All is done with so much passion and love for animals that I would not volunteer for another rescue!"

Thousand Oaks, California has been a safe haven for Sniffspot host, Jen, since childhood. Having grown up in busy Santa Barbara, Jen, an introvert from an early age, would seek out solitude and serenity away from tourists attractions and droves of people visiting from elsewhere. “My grandparents own 60 acres about a 30 minute drive from here, and I grew up spending every summer and every holiday visiting them on the ranch,” Jen explained. “In Santa Barbara, we wouldn't go to the beach on the weekend because that's where everybody was, so you'd find places off the beaten path where the tourists weren't. For me, the ranch was just my happy place.”
