55Barbara Ann’s sniff spot is lovely. John met me to show me the trail, which was about 3.5km and very easy to follow. The trail does not have a lot of tree cover, so it gets warm. Also worth noting that the parking area is shared with a vet clinic; they have poop bags and a garbage can, which is very convenient. On the other hand, if you have a dog-reactive dog you should be aware that there’s a chance you’ll see other animals (you can also see horses from the parking lot). My dogs enjoyed their romp and if this spot was closer to me I’d probably visit regularly. Alexandra D.

55What a beautiful trail!! We took our 4 dogs for a morning at Barbara Ann’s sniff spot and we loved the amazing views and long trails. The dogs were in their glory jumping on and off the trail into the long grass. We’ll definitely be back!! Erin B.

55Had a wonderful time taking Clara, my 9 month old Chesapeake Retriever and Luke, my 4 year old Miniature Poodle for off leash exercise. This was the first time Clara was allowed to run without a leash, and she had a blast. I plan to take her on a regular basis, as part of her training. I am so excited, as she will be ready to go backcountry ski touring with me in Muskoka, this winter, and mountain biking in the spring.Carolyn M.

55What an excellent location! It was our first Sniffspot and Nora loved it. A ton of room to run around, so many things to sniff. There's lots of flat, long spaces if you want to bring a ball to throw. Barbara Ann was great: met us there to show us the way, clear communication before our visit, and (most importantly) was very respectful of how Nora meets new people.
I will definitely be coming back. It's rare to go on an early morning walk in summer and not be harassed by bugs, but that's exactly what we had. A tick check afterwards revealed none of them on me or Nora, either. I recommend wearing waterproof shoes in the morning as the fields and grass get dewy. That's on me for not thinking ahead, though!
Thanks for a great Sniffspot experience!Douglas L.

55Great space for our pups to play!! Specifically chose this spot for the water feature but found out it was seasonal and dried up, therefore it’s a bit expensive to offer this but not be able to use it.Suzanne H.

55Great spot! Several large fields for the pups to explore. The fields are bordered by wood lots. There is a water feature (I’m guessing sometimes more than others), our two found the muddy spot. They got muddy and had fun doing it, and that’s the important part. There is a hose if your pups need a rinse. It’s a great spot. We will be back.Kirk E.

FAQ about our Elmvale dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Elmvale area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
