Fencing details: 5' wire fence around the yard. The raised deck has 3' cable railing and connects to the fence. Very small dogs (chihuahua-sized) could probably squeeze through the deck railing if they really wanted to.

Description

Welcome to Fun in Freeville: Fenced Yard Edition! Our property includes a 2,500 sq. ft. fully fenced-in yard, a larger open field, and a 5-acre trail. The yard includes deck access and seating. There is a large umbrella for shade and rain in the summer. The ground in the yard is pretty flat and mostly grass. The open space in the back is also grass with some trees and bushes. It can get a little muddy during very wet times of the year but there is a hose available. There is a kiddie pool in the yard for your pup to cool down in the summer. We have a small fire pit in the yard if you want to start a fire in cooler weather. There's also a large fire pit on the trail with bench seating and a picnic table. Bring your binoculars if you enjoy birding. We have lots of hummingbirds in the summer and have seen barred owls on the trail. Please let us know if you're interested in having a fire or want to know if the pool is out. We'd be happy to start a fire for you if we're available or ensure the kiddie pool has fresh water. Typical wildlife in the area includes squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, groundhogs, turkeys, deer, birds, and mosquitos. Ticks are rare in the fenced area but more common outside the yard. The yard is pretty flat, while the trail out back has some uneven terrain, and mud/water depending on the season.

Hi, we're Natasha, Joshua, and Avalanche! Avalanche is our deaf 6-year-old bull terrier. She loves people and does therapy dog visits with Cornell Companions. We know how challenging it can be to live life with a reactive dog and we wanted to make our space available to others working through similar challenges or who just want to enjoy the outdoors with their pup. We love hiking, foraging, swimming and enjoying nature.

Fun in Freeville - 5.5 Acre Trail

Welcome to Fun in Freeville: Trail Edition! A short trail for your dog that likes to explore the woods. There is a fire pit about 100 yards in with seating and some natural doggy obstacles for those interested in agility and parkour exercises. We currently have one open trail that runs the length of our 5.5 acre property and back, and we hope to add more this spring. Our favorite times to walk this trail are in the fall and winter. It can get pretty wet during certain times of the year. I would definitely wear tall waterproof footwear in the spring and summer and use bug spray. There's a large fire pit with benches and a picnic table that you're welcome to use. We are doing our best to maintain and further develop the trail but please be aware that there is uneven ground throughout and watch your step. As you walk through, you will encounter different types of forest and trees. It's always fun to bring binoculars if you're into birding. You might get lucky and see our resident barred owls!
