Come and play in Sammy’s Playground. There’s lots to do. With the entire 0.5-acre backyard fully enclosed by a new and secure chain-link fence (Fall 2022), your pups are free to roam, sniff, fetch and run to their hearts’ delight. And, wow… you are surely going to love watching them go!! Zoom-Zoom. The areas along the perimeter are wooded and make for fun pathways for explorations. The central portion of the yard is sloped and open. This makes for plenty of romping and heavy-duty running- including long throws of a ball or a frisbee. We have a tennis ball thrower. Check out all of the photos and read the accompanying descriptions to get a better idea of how Sammy’s Playground will appeal to you and your furry friends!! And don’t worry about the yard (too much). There’s divots and mounds all around, no manicured lawns when dogs are at play. Go for it guys… Enjoy!! And, the pool cover is elephant and dog proof. The dogs are allowed on the pool cover. It’s our hope that we do our absolute best to provide our Guests with the best experience each time they come over AND that our Guests remain as great as each have been - that we can continue to avoid any reason to raise our hourly rate. SniffSpot suggests we list Sammy’s Playground at $20/hour. We are uncomfortable with doing this, because it goes against the spirit of our objective for Sammy’s Playground in the first place: providing a safe and secure environment for dogs of all kinds to enjoy off-leash “true-dog” experiences with their loving humans. Barking IS allowed. We do welcome donations of dog food, p-pads and medications for the all-dog rescue organization, PAWS New England. PawsNewEngland.com for information about fostering, donating, adopting or other ways to support this amazing group. They save over 1,000 dogs per year. ——- NOTE: to open the gate, simply reach over the top to find the key. Twist/turn the key until it stops. Then, lift the knob on top of the gate and push the gate open… you’re in! The gate automatically closes behind you. Please confirm that it has engaged into the closed position and then turn the key to lock yourself in. DO NOT REMOVE THE KEY. Confirm that you have locked yourself in by seeing the little red dot and not being able to lift the knob. The photos section includes views of the gate, key and lock. MUST: when you leave, lock the gate. Doubly ensure that you have done so by lifting the knob. NOTE: As an “Extra” listed benefit, you may park your vehicle in an area away from the main gate and take advantage of a leisurely stroll down the very-well-kept sidewalks of Park Street and adjoining neighborhoods. We list this as an Extra simply so that we know why we have a car in the driveway, but no humans and dogs in the yard. Selecting this Extra just gives us the heads up. This might be a good way to burn off that last little bit of doggy energy or for some leash training while you’re here. This is time AFTER your booked time of using Sammy’s Playground (not a part of it). We just don’t want you to run off without taking advantage of all the resources available to you for your dog(s).

SPACE: Salem Play Area for Canine Exercise

DOG PARK USE REGULATIONS Sec. 26-101. - Use regulations. 1) Dogs entering the park must be at least six months of age; (2) Dogs must be accompanied by a guardian at least 18 years of age; (3) Individuals between the ages of ten and 17 years must be accompanied by an adult, age 18 years or older; (4) Dogs must display a municipal dog license and current vaccination tag; (5) Dogs may be leash free once within the confines to the park's second gate; (6) Guardians must have voice control over their dogs at all times; (7) Guardians must immediately clean and properly dispose of waste; (8) Guardians must remain hands free for supervision and safety; (9) All dogs must be either spayed or neutered; (10) All dogs entering the park must display a dog park tag issued annually by the director of park, recreation and community services or the director of park, recreation and community services designee. Applicants for a dog park tag shall sign a waiver of liability and an agreement to abide by park rules and present proof of current spay/neuter and vaccination status and dog license for the dog prior to the issuance of a dog park tag. The director of park, recreation and community services, in concert with the animal control officer, shall determine the number of dog park tags to be issued each year; and (11) Owners are responsible and liable for the actions of their dogs. Sec. 26-102. - Prohibitions. (1) Guardians may not supervise more than three dogs at one time; (2) Dogs deemed dangerous pursuant to city ordinance Chapter 8, section 8-66 are prohibited; (3) Cigarette smoking within the enclosed park is prohibited; (4) Dogs displaying aggressive behavior may be immediately removed from the park by the animal control officer or the animal control officer's designee; (5) Children's toys and sporting equipment are prohibited within the fenced area of the park; and (6) Due to health and safety concerns, children under the age of ten are prohibited from within the fenced area of the park.

Dog Park Rules & Regulations When attending the Derry Dog Park, please be sure to abide by the following rules and regulations: 1. Users of this facility do so at their own risk. The Town will not be held liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog on Town property. 2. Handlers must watch their dogs at all times. 3. Aggressive dogs must be removed immediately 4. If your dog bites / impacts a human, then he/she is immediately and permanently expelled from the park. 5. Handlers are responsible for any injuries caused by their dogs. 6. Children 11 years or under are not allowed in the off-leash area. 7. Children 12 to 16 must be accompanied and supervised closely by an adult. 8. All handlers must be over 16. 9. All dogs must wear current license and vaccination tags. 10. Dogs must be leashed when exiting or entering the off-leash area. 11. Handlers must \"Scoop the Poop\" and properly remove and dispose. 12. No female dogs in season (heat). 13. No more than 2 dogs to 1 handler at any time. 14. No glass containers. 15. No food allowed at any time. 16. No animals other than dogs are permitted. 17. Please take turns and be considerate when using the facility. 18. Apparatus in the park are for dogs only - patrons are not to climb or play on them. 19. Handlers are responsible for filling in holes that their dog(s) dig. 20. Please dispose of all litter properly. 21. Please Maintain Social Distancing at this time.
