On our 26 acre hobby farm, we have a 6 acre partially fenced farm field/dog park. Ride up and park at the white barn, and walk your leashed puppers walk towards the corner of Highway 6 and Concession 4 West. As you walk past our gardens, woodlots, and ponds you will get familiar with our surroundings and other fences as per the map. There is access to the forest and two ponds on the property. The highway is the right direction. Crossing through the tree line, and you have reached the private access to the 6-acre field. Four-foot tall fencing is installed for your security. Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy. Have fun, play catch, train and let your animal have unleashed freedom! We have uploaded a printable "safety map" for each season, that contains a legend for your use and the status of the park. Note the fire pit is not available during the winter season. *WINTER 2025 UPDATE* 2024 was a wonderful year! It was our first year and because of you we were the top spot in the local area! With 77 reviews, 74 unique/first visitors, 182 happy dogs and a rating of 4.6 out 5! Our Corgi loved walking after your visits because of all the new dog smells. We have reviewed all of your comments and feedback. Here are some additions and projects we will embark in 2025 to improve your experience and the Sniffspot: 1. Fence gap at the Pond: Our neighbor has granted us permission to install a fence segment on their property to close the fence gap at the pond. 2. Entrance signage: We will be adding a main sign at the parking space which include a print out of the Sniffspot map, extra doggy bags, spare water and garbage with a mini roof/shelter. 3. Directional signage: we will be adding posts with signs and directions that will be installed throughout the property in the summer. 4. Rough Terrain: A quarter of the field is level and has been worked (sunflower area) but the remainder has not so we have obtained a local farmer to help us. More details below. Once completed, we will update the map and remove these note(s). Please note the following are TEMPORARY changes for 2025. We have rented the field to a young entrepreneurial farmer who will be planting organic soy beans this spring. In return, they will clean and “work” the field. This means cutting and clearing the entire field (except for the ditch line and few tagged trees), removing debris, making holes, filling holes, ploughing and leveling the field. This will eliminate the risk of slip, trips and falls. They have already removed all of the brush piles, and other debris in January 2025 (hence why the park was closed). About half the park has a rough terrain because their equipment will leave ruts, etc. East/Highway side quadrant is the most level. Please review the Winter Safety Map. We have asked the farmer to keep a 10-20 foot perimeter buffer between the fence and neighbours and we will be cutting/maintaining that trail. Once the soy beans are planted in April/May sniff spot walkers will be asked to keep their dogos on the perimeter trail to avoid significant crop damages. Therefore, we will be reducing the price of the park to $5 until harvest (September/October 2025). You will be welcome to continue to the spot and the leased area between the spot and the parking lot. We are excited because with a bit of sacrifice and time, our field will be level a safer place to walk. We will then be able to maintain trails and create a space that will accommodate the Sniffspot and our personal wants. If you have any questions, please let me know. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh (commonly used for smaller livestock such as sheep, donkey, cows, etc) and cedar posts. If you look at the photos you can see the locations of the gate on the main photo or on “safety map” (see photos and captions). We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park in case your dog does not have good recall. Refer to the safety map (see photos).

You may hear a dog bark in the distance depending on air quality, but it will be faint. You can take an easy hike along the field edge, or let your pet have the full experience of sniffing out coons, opossums, squirrels and many other things in the woods. The woods trail is steep and sloped for a portion of the way, and eventually joins the field edge trail. Neither trail is cleared of snow, but the woods trail mostly doesn't have a deep snow layer. Both trails give you access to the creek. Round trip to the back of the farm and back is 30-40 minutes at a good hike. In the summer, a beautiful rest camp is set up at the back for you to detox and enjoy the silence while your dog is in the water. A hose and/or small pool is provided at the front for your dog's rinse.

What a great space for our huskies to run and forage! It was one degree and a wet snow but they don’t mind the cold, mud and puddles at all! I’m sure it’s beautiful in the summer. Finding the entrance was a bit confusing but Daniel, who is very friendly, came out and once we saw it, it’s easy to get to. We visited Goldenwood on a very wet winter day, so we are excited to try it in the spring and summer when everything is in bloom! The host was very friendly and there if we needed him. There was no gate but that was stated in the description and in the message before we went, also the host let us know that it comes off in the winter and goes back on in the spring. Our dogs have good recall and we didn’t have any issue with that! Our little kids loved to come and splash in the puddles too. It’s a great spot for medium to larger dogs to jump around. Owner is making picnic tables to put out there and that will be handy for snacks and sitting while watching your dog sniff around.

This place is amazing. Fully fenced and so spacious. Our dogs had a blast. I would definitely recommend it and will visit again for sure. If you decide to go on a rainy day like me, I recommend to wear rainboots. Oh, and bonus: as the owners have a farm, you can buy fresh eggs right there.

Our Samoyed needed a biopsy on Monday, so we decided to take him to this spot on Sunday. The host was very enthusiastic and gave us directions. The spot was large and clean. Although the snow melted when we went there, the dogs were very happy. We will come back when the weather is good or when it snows heavily.

Great spot. Our boy Gizmo had a great time sniffing and fetching. It was pretty muddy so wear boots the terrain also pretty uneven so watch your footing. The only suggestion I would have is to have a couple of signs pointing to the directions into the area. Other than that it's great! Gizmo loves his visit for his first birthday!

Great spot! There were neighbourhood dogs in their yards that were running the fence barking at us which was fine with me - a great training opportunity actually! However if you have a dog that would be bothered by that this might not be the best place for them.

This was such a great SniffSpot! Our Vizsla had an absolute blast running and exploring through the tall grass and trees. We live in the city and seeing the joy on her face of her running off leash safely in nature is the best feeling. With the amount of space, we were able to do some mantrailing/recall training. Lots of areas to run and hide for your pup to sniff out a trail. There are some neighbouring properties with dogs along the fence line as others have mentioned but we used it as an opportunity to practice our ‘leave it’ command :) Overall we left with one muddy and very happy pup. We loved it and will definitely be back in the summer! Thanks Daniel and Rachelle for sharing your beautiful property!

Amazing space, and beautiful property. Fully fenced except for a portion of the pond, your dog would have to fully swim to cross it. Our dogs had so much fun, it was such a nice opportunity for our rescue. They even waded in the pond a little!

Great place exactly as described ! Saw an adorable family of deer in the field. Only thing is the fence beside the gate to get into the off leash section - something has started digging a hole under it and my dog could have gotten out if she wanted to! Luckily she was so busy exploring everything she didn't notice :) the pond and picnic table are a great touch

Great spot for exploring, owner has cut down some winding trails both inside the off-leash area and on the leashed trails. The wide-open area (full sun) is great for running around and then there are a couple of trails further at from the road that have some shade. Picnic table for humans to sit while pup explores. The small pond was a hit and refreshing on a warm day. Lots of tall grass. I found a tick so make sure to check yourself and pup afterwards. We’ll definitely be back!

Are dog fields safe?

If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
