124 Acre Conservation Farm Trails Fields Fun

Unfenced
124 acres

Follow our FB page for open days. Farm store now open! Swing in before your appointment and grab some retro sodas, dog beer (YES I SAID DOG BEER!), artisan smores kits and so much more! CASHLESS sales at the store please. Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. WE BLOCK OUT ALL DAY BOOKINGS FOR SNIFFSPOT APPOINTMENTS. Check out our website, insta and FB page for more photos too! Happy Sniffing!!l

Dexter's Bark Park

Fully Fenced
1 acre

Welcome! We offer a 1 acre, fenced spot for your dog(s) to run, play, dog, sniff and bark! **Please see pic showing details of road work. Sept 3-Oct 11** Beautiful views and farm animal neighbors add to the fun. Shade trees and seating make this spot fun for all! Long and short grass *currently approx 1/3 mowed, the rest is a field of high grass. There is a trail mowed around outside a few through center*, slight hills, a sand pile and dirt to dig in too! We are a farm animal sanctuary and wildlife friendly. There may be long grass, insects, farm animal poo and other farmy stuff. Fun smell things such as feathers, wool, horse hair etc is added for dogs to sniff. All is cruelty free. WINTER: Seasonal pond takes up the lower portion of the spot. It may grow and shrink throughout the season. Dogs love it! Ground will likely be soggy but we will close if entrance becomes unsafe. SUMMER: During warm weather there is a 9’ stock tank pool (not filtered) for dogs. One adult may accompany each dog but please no children. >> Please note! Perimeter fence was replaced and spot now includes additional space! There are more trees and brush included for your dogs sniffing pleasure. Please use caution, there are some new trip hazards and holes. We have walked this multiple times but things may continue to work their way out of the exposed earth. We think dogs will enjoy even more but be aware, it’s a little more wild than before! << Private parking for one or two vehicles available. If additional needed, please message host. Clean porta potty available for guest use. This is also used by others, please keep dogs leashed in this area. This park is dedicated to Dexter, the King of Bork. He was a loud, happy guy that lived to bark! He inspired Misspits Rescue who has saved hundreds of dogs and other animals. All proceeds from this rental support Misspits and the animals in our care.

Pepper's Pasture in Gig Harbor

Fully Fenced
1.5 acres

New: Year-End Special--bring leaves, pumpkins, and other compostables in exchange for discount codes! See below. Also new: big dirt pile beside driveway from sitework--just drive on past to the sniffspot Beautiful sloped pasture with some woods at the lower end. 1.5 acres. If desired, you can drive right into the pasture and secure the gate behind you before letting your dog(s) loose. It changes by the season. In summer, the grass grows tall and you can enjoy the shade of alders in the lower portion. A seasonal creek runs through it in winter and spring. Your dog may find the scent of deer where they've bedded down at night, though it's unlikely that any will be present for your visit. You will see that I've planted and protected some fruit trees and native plants here and there. A sheltered area allows you to sit in the shade or out of the rain, and that's where you'll also find most amenities, such as toys and water. Access: There are two driveways onto the property. Use the north entry, with the "Pepper's Pasture" sign. After driving up that driveway, you'll see a "Sniffspot" sign on the gate into the pasture. Year-End Special: I've moved the compost pile to the left side of the entry driveway and will compensate donations: $5 discount per big bag of leaves, $5 per pumpkin/jack-o-lantern. Let me know what you brought/are planning to bring and I'll respond with a personalized promo code to use at Pepper's Pasture. You can empty the leaves onto the pile or leave them bag and all and I'll take care of it. Cardboard (non-glossy) and other compostables also welcome. Text me at 253-346-5863 or reach out via the Sniffspot app. to get your discounts. Thanks!

Wonderlane

Fully Fenced
2 acres

Embark on an enchanting Pacific Northwest rainforest adventure at Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot for Dogs and Their Best Friends - Bring your friends and their dogs too! Unleash your dogs and frolic with your beloved friends in the lush embrace of our hilly Pacific Northwest natural rainforest. Wonderlane beckons you and your best pals to explore 66 years of history across 2 acres of established trails, over 9 terraces, under towering old-growth trees, listening to the gentle murmur of a clear creek, accessible by your choice of 2 gates. Close the black entrance gate behind you before you park. From the parking area choose your path— the left or right trails —and meander down Flying Horse Lane or Waggin' Tail Lane to The Landing Pad, where trails weave into playful circles perfect for a game of ‘Hide and Go Seek’ or a chase! At the forest edge, the Madhatter trail invites you to a serene creek, a secret haven at our fully fenced sanctuary. For environmental reasons, the creek area is not fenced. Our hilly forested land, a tapestry of guardrails, fences, gates, natural barriers, rolling trails, springs and creeks, is a haven for play. These trails, once trodden by horses, have been lovingly reclaimed from invasive brush and dead trees, now fun for paws and feet alike. We’ve nurtured this tranquil forest back to life by planting more than 600 saplings. The canopy of Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Yew, BigLeaf Maple, and Alder, filled out as soon as there was more light. These trails whisper stories of the past. In the spring, summer, and fall, lush frilly leaves decorate every breeze with greenery in motion. Wonderlane isn’t just a place; it’s an experience—a Sniffspot designed with your dog’s joy in mind. While they dash through wood chips and Pacific Northwest duff, under ferns you’ll enjoy the sight of a 20-acre forested wetland, a living vista of nature. Though some wildlife is a rare sight, the forest is alive with the songs of songbirds - sparrows, finches, thrushes, grosbeaks, and a host of other birds, such as majestic American Bald Eagles are seen here. Walk, run or pause on our soft wide paths and let the forest’s secrets reveal themselves uniquely to you. We’ve spent more than five years crafting this haven, just a mile from the South Sound, for you and your friends to run, walk, sit, and revel in the company of your dog(s). And when the day’s adventures are done, two Starbucks await to refresh you, 3 minutes and 5 minutes away. Join our community on Bluesky @wonderlane.bsky.social, or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208, or by searching for “Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot,” or ask a warm and friendly nearby AI to direct your browser to us, and see tales of joy. Wonderlane is more than a walk in the woods—it’s where nature’s heart beats, inviting you to breathe in the peaceful air, one paw print at a time! If your dog ever hesitates to leave, a ring of the Magic Chuck Waggin’ Triangle will bring them running back. Reminder in certain conditions, or if visiting around twilight bring repellent or wear it when you drop into the forest, and if you choose, onto the creek area. There may be bug repellant near the treats containers. By the way, we've never seen deer here. The creek is best for physically fit individuals. If you need assistance or more info, please contact us directly. Keeping Wonderlane pristine is a collective effort, and we value your help in maintaining the beauty of our shared space. Please use the garbage bins at the top driveway entrance for disposal of any waste. Please close the hydrants completely. Press the hydrant water handle into the completely closed position after use. If the water is not pressed completely closed it affects our water system pressure. As of Nov 1 2024 the lower water hydrants in the spot are off for the winter. Please close every gate. Dogs must be leashed going to and coming from the parking area, and may be unleashed when entering the dog park. We rely upon guests to contact us and tell us immediately if they need anything. To be fully fenced please roll shut the main gate after you park. There are also 2 sets of gates at the top of each trail to the Sniffspot. The forest area is fully fenced, some doubled. There are 2 gates that lead to the creek so you can control access. PS if you wonder about the fencing here, some guests want the creek fenced too, which isn't possible due to environmental reasons. Please roll the gate into the open and securely hooked position when you leave, thank you! Enjoy the forest’s magic at Wonderlane. --------------------------------------- Thank you to the many regulars, Sniffpass holders, and new guests who clean up after their dogs so very well! Proud of our community! *********************************** Created in memory of Rosie Lane, my beloved dog. *********************************** If Wonderlane Sniffspot is booked you might love our sister site in the forest right outside the town of Redmond Washington - Magical Mossy Forest - https://www.sniffspot.com/listings/redmond-wa/magical-mossy-forest-69904

Camp Dilly Dally Doggie Park In Buckley

Partially Fenced
5 acres

We offer five acres of partially mowed fields and a natural wooded area. There is a small pond and access to South Prairie Creek. The creek has a variable current, so it may be best for larger dogs. The pond would be ideal for smaller dogs who aren't strong swimmers. Trails began as deer/elk trails but have been improved. There are some small logs and rocks here and there to step over so sturdy shoes are recommended. The leaves that cover the trails in the fall may be a little slippery, so take care.

Shady Hill Hobby Farm

Fully Fenced
4 acres

Welcome to Shady Hill Hobby farm! Our farm offers a wooded pasture with a creek (note: during summer months the creek is muddy) that is fully fenced with horse fencing or barbed wire (see pictures). The gate at the end of the gravel path begins your off-leash experience! Once inside, you'll have the option to take a left to enjoy the creek or continue up the hill to explore the woods and pasture. Upon entering the farm, parking will be on your right. Please park your vehicle on the wood chips. Given this is an active farm with chickens and ducks free ranging we do ask that you keep your dog(s) on a leash until you are behind the Sniffspot gate. You are also welcome to observe the farm animals while your dog is leashed as well. We hope you enjoy our farm as much as we do. ~ Hall Family

55This was our second time visiting this place, and we loved it even more than the first time. We reserved a bit more time, explored some new trails, brought our own wood to make a fire (though you can buy nice split wood on-site), cooked some lunch, got "lost" in the woods for a bit, and generally had a great afternoon out. Our pup loves exploring nature and sniffing all the smells, while I appreciate the well-maintained trails and the cleanest porta-potty I've ever seen. :) Thanks to the owners for making this magical place available to dogs and the humans who love them. We'll be back again!

55What a fun spot! It is like walking through your own private national forest. This was our second visit and we were able to explore even more of the property than before. My dog absolutely loves it here - there is so much land and different “sniffs” to explore. We even ran into a buzzard feeding on a carcass. Truth is I didn’t see the carcass but my dog did as he was several yards ahead of me and scared the buzzard into the trees. Once I went forward a bit I smelled the carcass and decided to turn around and go the other way😊. Overall, we had a great time and easily spent 90 minutes exploring the may trails throughout the woodlands. We also bought eggs and they are delicious - so much better than what you can buy at the grocery store. Highly recommended Sniffspot!

55Absolute heaven for dogs and people. Well marked and maintained trails, lots of variety of environments, some open grassy spaces to run, woodsy trails, lots of wildlife. We spent 2 hours here with our 9 month old Shepherd who is still learning trail manners. Was a great opportunity to train in a relaxed and slightly more controlled real world environment. We drove 2 hours to get her and it was worth it, will be back!

55We love this place so much - it's well worth a drive to spend a couple of hours here with our reactive pup. We keep him on a long lead, since his recall leaves something to be desired, but let him decide the direction and sniff to his heart's content. Today, when we showed up (thankfully after the great PNW heatwave of 2021 had passed), the host had left a pile of firewood (which we didn't burn, but it was a nice touch), a helpful note about the deer (they have attitude this time of year due to protecting their young), and - I don't know if this was on purpose - a very nice stick leaning against the picnic table that my dog promptly carted off and made his own. We also noted they had strung some hammocks between the nearby trees. We came to get some exercise and explore, so we didn't use the hammocks, but what a great option if you were spending, say, an entire afternoon instead of just a couple of hours. I've mentioned the ultra-clean portapotty before - still ultra-clean! You could see they have been doing some work on the trails and that they make a real effort to maintain everything. I hope everyone who visits respects this place, because it is a gem!

55We loved the time we spent at Malaney Creek Farm! It was a gorgeous day and Tracy made it very easy - she allowed us to self-check (excitable pup), we found the farm no problem thanks to her directions, and once we got there, the Sniffspot directional signs led us to *the* spot. The spot itself was lovely - nice, open grassy area, covered picnic table, fire pit, chairs (which I think we forgot to re-stack before we left :( - so sorry, Tracy.) I have to give the host kudos for THE cleanest port-a-potty I've ever seen in my life, which also was very much appreciated. Our dog does not have reliable recall so we used our 30-foot long-lead on the trails, which worked out great and kept him out of trouble. :) He had great fun and so did we - it was so nice to not be on high alert for other dogs who might approach us and set off our leash-reactive pup while enjoying nature. We even found a tennis ball at the spot, which we played with for a bit when we took a break from exploring. We booked two hours, which went by quickly. (One note for future visitors: we heard gunshots several times during our visit. It didn't faze our dog or us, but for people or pets who are sensitive to that, may want to take note. It wasn't in our immediate vicinity, but it was audible.) All in all, we had a great afternoon out and we hope to come back soon!

55We had so much fun at this spot! Our dog did a ton of exploring and sniffing, and he left tired and happy. Trails are a little muddy in places, as expected this time of year, so just be sure to bring a towel. Our reactive dog had absolutely no problems here and loved every minute of it! Owner is incredibly kind and willing to answer any questions. Can't wait to come back in the future!

55We consistently have a great experience at this spot. My dog's favorite thing (next to string cheese) is to go on a woodland sniffari, and this place is like heaven to him. It's also pleasant for the humans, too, including plenty of Adirondack chairs for when you want a break from the trails, a covered picnic table, and a portapotty. That last amenity is especially appreciated, since we have a bit of a drive to get to the spot and we always book a couple of hours. This place is definitely worth the drive and the price.

55This was a great spot! My German shepherd had lots of room to stretch his legs. It was a little confusing knowing where to park as it's just a big grassy lawn when you pull up. It was also confusing know where we were and were not allowed to be as some of the trails lead to other camping spots and to a dirt road that had quite a few cars going by on it, which could pose a safety issue since dogs are off leash. Luckily you can hear cars coming down the road so I had time to make sure my dog was secured and no one was pulling into where we were. Overall it's a nice spot with a few short trails with lots of shade and a great grassy area to play fetch.

FAQ about our Shelton dog water parks

Are dog water parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars.
If you are worried about whether you can have an enjoyable water experience, just know that it is possible to have peace of mind when visiting dog waterparks by following basic safety guidelines. Some great ways to stay safe around water with your dog include learning canine CPR and keep an eye on your dog at all times to ensure they are not distressed. You can learn more about safety around water here.
How can I find the best dog water parks in Shelton?
There are 21 dog water parks in the Shelton area. The most popular dog water park is 🐕 Fido's 2 acre Country Oasis 🐕. You can browse all of our dog water parks here.
How do I know if a dog water park works for my dog?
Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing and distractions, to find a dog park that works for your dog. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog water parks. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog water parks where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Make sure to review the amenities of the spot to see what kind of water features are offered to make sure it works for your dog. If your dog is not a strong swimmer, then perhaps choose a dog water park with tamer water features rather than a river or beach, for instance. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions, and of course, checking water park hours.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot water park?
We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Additionally, we recommend following our water safety guidelines.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot water park at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
How much do Sniffspot dog water parks cost?
Dog water parks in the Shelton area range from $4.0 and $4.0. The least expensive dog water park is Oodles of Fun with a Chipoodle in Fenced Yard. The most expensive dog water park is Oodles of Fun with a Chipoodle in Fenced Yard. Each host sets their own price, so you can check the price on the specific Sniffspot dog park listing.
Can I have an event or party at a dog water park?
If you are planning an amazing dog water park party, each Sniffspot water park has their own rules regarding special events. Many water parks allow doggie birthday parties, training and other event types. Event organizers need to be responsible for their guests and event organizers should coordinate with the host regarding their fun party.
What are the coolest doggie water features available?
Sniffspot dog water parks can have a variety of features, everything from swimming pools to rivers to beaches to hoses and kiddie pools.
