We live on 15 acres, and now have 1.5 acres fully fenced! It is all very flat land making for an easy stroll with your dogs. We are boarded on two edges by farm fields and two edges by neighbors. There is a trail that circles the property, with plenty of space to explore. During the summer, please take advantage of the small kiddie pool. There are also toys and chairs in the fenced area for all guests. Some seasonal things to keep in mind: Spring/fall when we have heavy rain, some areas could have standing water and/or be muddy. Mid to late summer, there are fox tails (cheat grass) that can cling to your dogs. Winter, the trails might not be plowed. There will be a 5gal bucket in the wood shed (inside the fenced area) full of water you can use to refill the two water bowls. Keep an eye out for trip hazards! Logs, sticks, uneven ground and holes.

The 50 acres is mostly timber, with a 7 acre pond that has water in it most of the year. It will dry up on really hot years. I do have chickens and pack goats by the house. But they are inside mesh fencing, so your dogs won’t be able to get to them. The 50 acres is completely fenced with a 3 to 5 strand Barbwire fence. It’s in good shape. It is also the property boundary. So as long as you stay inside of the fence, you will be on the property. There are not a lot of neighbors but the ones I have are nice. When you come up the driveway, you can pass the house and drive up on the hill and Park at the conex container. There is lots of wildlife on the property, and I highly recommend that your dog has some sort of tick repellent, we do have ticks in the spring time. The upper part of the driveway is not graveled, so if there’s melting snow, or a lot of ran, it can get muddy. So be prepared for that. We had another really great visit to this beautiful Sniffspot. My dog is reactive (to people, cars, bikes, you name it) and is also very sensitive to noise, and we heard no loud noises while we were there (on a Sunday afternoon). We also ventured out onto the DNR land and saw no one there. My dog was able to relax and just enjoy being in the woods! Like everyone else here, I heartily recommend this Sniffspot and thank the owners for letting us use it.

AMAZING Sniff Spot. Peaceful trails and a field for play, including toys, fresh water station, and seating. It is nicely maintained and all details considered. Although it’s quite a drive from Seattle, it’s a lovely escape with tons of sniff and play options. Oh, and easy to find and best signage I’ve encountered.

Our dogs had the best time running their hearts out! We definitely appreciated the towels and hose :) We could hear dogs barking off at a far distance but it was of no concern with my reactive Shepherd. The off leash area was a large grassy area. We spent some time on the public DNR trails that are opposite the off leash area and had a great time! We didn't encounter anyone and really the trail only leads back to the farm so we didn't expect to see anyone. It's forest out there so if your pup doesn't have any recall, I wouldn't venture out there. Great spot, we will be back!

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
