We have an additional 3 acres of woods and a pond that is UNFENCED at the back of the property that is accessible through a gate that you are also welcome to explore. We get plenty of wild animals in our yard and have dogs of our own so there are PLENTY! Of smells for your pets to enjoy. All humans and pets will stay inside for your visit unless requested otherwise. When we get a lot of rain, a small pond forms in the back of the yard (pictured) but it’s not there in the extreme summer heat. I have a kiddy pool, water bowls and a hose outside that is usable in the spring, summer and fall. Toys, poop bags, chairs for humans, a nice patio to sit on, picnic table, and a fire pit patio with string lights all available for use! Hand sanitizer is also available and if it rains, we will open up the garage for a rain shelter with chairs! We do not use any pesticides or fertilizer on our property but will spray for ticks in the spring and summer. We cut the grass 1-2x per week but even more in the spring to keep the grass super short and our house sits on top of a hill for added exercise. They are designed to keep the park a safe and healthful environment for every visitor, dog and human alike. Like other Ohio dog parks, Akron Dog Park is not supervised or patrolled, it is vital that all visitors obey these rules and behave responsibly and courteously toward each other at all times. Thank you. Our Park Facilities Akron Dog Park is comprised of the parking lot, the fenced park areas and the service access road leading to and from the park gates. These rules apply to all park areas. • Akron Dog Park is for dogs and their humans only. No other animals may be brought in. • Hours are dawn until dusk daily all year.Observance of all posted rules, as well as applicable Ohio law and Akron’s ordinances, is essential to the safety and well-being of park visitors, both dogs and their humans. • Visitors to the park are responsible for keeping it clean. o Dog’s waste must be picked up by their handlers, properly bagged and deposited in the bins provided. Picking up “orphan poops” is encouraged. o Other trash and garbage must be placed in trash or recycling bins. o No glass containers are permitted in the park. • Human food and alcoholic beverages are not permitted inside the park at any time. • Cigarette smoking is permitted only outside the fenced area. VISITORS AND THEIR DOGS ENTER AT THEIR OWN RISK, and they are responsible and will be held liable for any damage or injury they or their dog cause to another dog, to any person and to park property. • Children under the age of 16 may enter the park’s fenced area only when accompanied by and actively supervised by a responsible adult. • Dogs are permitted at the park only when accompanied and actively supervised by at least one handler of at least 18 years of age and no handler may exit the fenced area leaving any dog inside. • Only healthy dogs at least 4 months old, current on mandatory vaccinations and not in ANY stage of heat are permitted in the park. • Dogs must be leashed at all times except when inside the fenced area of the park, and handlers must keep their dogs’ leashes in their possession and available for immediate use if necessary while their dogs are inside. • Dogs visiting Akron Dog Park must be collared or harnessed with accurate ID tags, and current dog license and rabies tags. CHOKE/PINCH/PRONG COLLARS are not permitted inside the fenced area of the park. • No single handler may bring more than 3 dogs into the park at any one time. • Only dog toys are permitted inside the fenced area of the park, and favorite toys from home are NOT recommended because “sharing” will happen. Dog Behavior • Dogs exhibiting vicious, fierce, overly-aggressive or dangerous behavior are not permitted in the park at any time. • Any dog unexpectedly exhibiting aggressive behavior should be leashed immediately and, if necessary, removed from the park. • Stay alert to your dog’s behavior because ordinary play can suddenly escalate into aggression and even attack, and your intervention may become necessary. Incidents at Akron Dog Park • Visitors involved in any incident involving injury to a person or dog should exchange accurate personal contact information (name, telephone numbers, etc.) and veterinary contacts. Cell phone cameras can be helpful in documenting information. • In an emergency, visitors should dial 911 for assistance from area emergency crews. Our property sits 1200+ feet off of the main road and is a total of 28 acres. There are neighboring properties that are 50 acres and 80 acres so no close homes in most directions. We are located approximately 1 mile from West Branch State Park. The property has a clean swimming pond, a walkable forest area with some established trails that are currently covered with leaves. We are a working farm with about 8 acres of crops. There is a large 3 acre wheat field in the front great for ball throwing. The remaining non crop acres are walking paths with some cut grass and yard. We do not have any livestock but our neighbors have cows. There is a secure fence on one side of our property that keeps the cows in their pasture. They’ve never visited us! Neighboring properties are also farms with over 100 acres of open land, woods and crops surrounding our property with no main or visible roads. You can see houses on one side of the property and that’s where the cows live! They have dogs but they’ve never visited us. We do have 2 well behaved German Shorthaired Pointers named River and Remmy who run freely on the property. However we will keep them inside when guests use the property. We have a bench to sit on in a shaded area around the pond for relaxing. The woods are beautiful to walk about as well. There is a large rock in the woods to take a rest on with an amazing ravine creek view. Our property is large and not fenced so dogs with impeccable recall should enjoy the freedom to play, run, swim, sniff and explore. Leashed walks are also welcome. Long leads can also be used. Because we are so far off of any main roads you will feel comfortable here! Your pups are welcome to swim in the pond during your visit. During recent rains our property stays mainly dry and the woods are relatively dry as well as there are many leaves covering the ground. In the winter when the ground is frozen it’s a beautiful walk.

Beautiful spot! The backyard is entirely fenced in, our dogs loved running around! Lots for them to sniff and explore. The pool was super nice, even though our dogs didn’t enjoy swimming too much, we did! We didn’t hear a single dog bark (besides our own) either!

This was my first time using sniff spot. The space was nice and clean. No gap’s in the fence. Everything was nice and quiet. My dog loved every moment. Provided some toys and fresh water. Chairs were also provided as well. I highly recommend to take your pup here. Will be back soon!

This was everything for us! We have been wanting to take our dogs somewhere like this for a long time and this was perfect! Although they only lasted a half hour before they got tired and they spent a lot of time sniffing they loved every minute of it! We will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful space to let the pups really run. Completely secure and beautiful. Neighbors that were out were nice and friendly, not intrusive at all. Tons of things for them to sniff and a great place to take pictures. Access to my car within the fence was an added bonus.

10/10! We had a blast at this sniffspot! I brought my 2 dogs and we had an absolutely fantastic time. Arrival instructions were very easy to follow and when we arrived, there were chairs set out with toys, treats, water, and a sign welcoming my dogs by name 🥹 . So sweet! My older dog LOVES inspecting fence lines and found 0 issues! My younger guy got a kick out of all the space to play fetch! I am so grateful for the host - my older dog is leash reactive and it can be challenging taking her places with other dogs. She had the time of her life at this sniffspot - thank you SO much, Sarah, for helping us enrich our dog's life! She is an amazing dog and deserves the opportunity to explore new places at her own pace and you 100% made the difference for both of my dogs! Next time we want to book the pool as well, it looked awesome!

This was my first time using Sniffspot and it won’t be my last. Our family loved it! The yard was huge, clean and very peaceful. Secure fencing. We had the absolute best time here! Our doggos ran around HUGE fenced yard, got nice and hot, and then dived into the pool! The yard is 100% secure and the pool area was just divine for us and our pups! Also fully fenced and safe! We will definitely be back to enjoy this oasis again. This place is just too much fun!! We did several rounds of yard time followed by the pool. It was a perfect way to cool off and get extra exercise. The dogs quickly figured out the exit steps! Everything was so clean and thoughtful. My dogs even had fun on the dirt mounds in the back of the yard. Plenty of space for fetch, shaded areas to walk along and hang around as well. The hose is an added bonus! We will definitely be back!!

I loved this spot the first time I visited with my 2 Saints and it only got better this visit. Super quiet and peaceful morning spot to watch the sun rise and let the dogs run.
