I rescued two sisters in AR who were puppies. After reaching out to DogsOnly Arkansas the sisters were transported to Mary’s Dog Rescue in NH. They were each able to find loving forever homes. They truly love all the pets they get and work hard daily to find forever homes for the pets they get in and continue to do as more dogs come in regularly. They are the best!

I've seen over the hill around our community for years, they're always at events, trying to spread awareness and help the cause. Volunteering to help get dogs to appointments and such has shown me nothing but the sweetest happiest dogs. You would never know it's a rescue, you'd swear it was just some crazy young girl with all her dog kids. They're just a giant family doing one of the hardest jobs I can possibly imagine.

    Manchester

We are the St. Pierre's. Helen and Jake, and our daughters Grace and Evelyn. We absolutely love animals and Helen runs and owns a professional dog training business and facility, so our dogs are thought of as members of our family. We have dogs, cats, parrots, rats, a tortoise, pigs, and a horse all at home with us. Helen started fostering dogs when she began training, over 18 years ago, and gradually discovered over time the desperate need for willing fosters and organizations that supported senior dogs. One by one, she began taking in senior or hospice dogs, and giving them the care they needed and a soft place to land until they were ready to pass on. In return, they taught her more in just a few months than she could have learned in a lifetime without them. Now, we take senior or hospice dogs into our home and give them the retirement they so deserve. We also actively support, foster when needed, and help care for other senior, hospice or special needs dogs all over the country, in shelters and in rescue. Our mission is to show others how much a senior dog can enrich a home, make a wonderful companion, and give the gift of unconditional love, no matter how long their time is with you. Even if you can't bring one into your home, you can still help and support our mission! We are a registered 501(c)3 with the state of New Hampshire.

I adopted my latest rescue from Motley Mutts almost two years ago. Their approval process was very thorough, which helped me feel comfortable in their experience. I was immediately impressed by the staff and volunteers’ caring and commitment to these pups, no matter what their story. They do not judge or react negatively if a dog isn’t a good fit for someone. They simply take the pup back and find him/her a forever family to call their own. I have supported them ever since and expect my next rescue will likely come through Motley Mutts.

Our mission is to care for cats and dogs in need until they can be adopted, and to promote their health and welfare through community outreach and education. Formally located at the Winners Circle Farm in Tuftonboro, NH, a facility once used to home greyhounds for racing, LRHS relocated to an old farmhouse on Old Route 28 in Ossipee in 2005, that was transformed into the Lakes Region Humane Society you see today. In July of 2015 we celebrated our 20th Birthday as an Animal Welfare Organization! LRHS works with the surrounding towns of Tuftonboro, Ossipee, Wolfeboro, Wakefield (Sanbornville, Union, Brookfield), and Effingham to take in pets who are surrendered by their owners or brought in as strays. LRHS ensures that once a pet is checked into our shelter, he/she receives quality food, shelter, grooming, enrichment, medical assistance and love while we seek out a perfect forever home for him/her. Every pet adopted out from LRHS is fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and healthy.

After losing our boxer last year, we were anxious to bring home a new pup this spring. Mary's Dogs was the first rescue that I contacted and was approved by. I worked with them for 3 months, searching for our perfect dog. I learned how these folks strive to provide the best home for the dogs. That includes not putting a dog in the wrong home even when someone requested that pup. They asked, "Do you really want a toddler in your house?" I realized they were right. I now have a 4 year old boxer thanks to their guidance.
