55This was a great place to let my girls run and explore. Lots of paths to follow and they are well maintained. Linda was very welcoming and I loved the added bonus of treats for me and a bottle of water. We will definitely be back. Chris E.

55Our visit was just before sunset and the trails were beautiful. There’s tables and chairs spaced throughout if you want to rest while your dogs run around. Bring boots if you walk down to the bottom as it’s muddy. We were running late and they allowed us to shift our time last minute so we really appreciated it. Jaque K.

55I don’t normally book places that are less than five acres but this one was so close to home that I thought I’d give it a try. I’m so glad I did! The host has made the utmost use of the property and due to the switchback trails throughout the hilly terrain the property felt larger than 2 acres. My reactive dog had a blast exploring the trails and taking a several dips in the creek. We were able to walk the trails about three times during our one hour visit but I didn’t feel like we were walking in circles due to the switchback trails and my dog seemed to find something new to sniff each time. We also didn’t see or hear any other people or animals. It is truly a peaceful woodland area. The host’s description is very accurate too - the property is contained with fences in most areas and where there isn’t fencing, and/or there are gaps in the fence, the natural terrain, which includes dense underbrush and steep hills, provides good containment. I felt very safe with letting my reactive dog go leash free. I usually have to drive at least 30 minutes to a Sniffspot large enough to keep my dog interested but now I have one within 10 minutes. I’m thrilled to have found Wonderlane and highly recommend it to others!Bonnie B.

55I now have happy, tired, dirty dogs. The spot was great, but I didn’t fully appreciate the suggestions about the dirt / mud. My dogs don’t have great recall so they were on long leads. So when they crossed the creek, got tangled, climbed a hill I had to go with them. So I likely ended up more dirty than most would. It was 100% worth it, but I didn’t anticipate getting that muddy/wet. That being said, the dogs loved the hiking adventure and playing in the creek. Carolynn M.

55Our dogs loved this spot - plenty to smell and well maintained trails to sprint down. The trail does get very muddy leading up to the creek so definitely wear boots and bring some towels. We really appreciated all the different hose spots to wash them off afterwards.
As for fencing - the entrance isn’t fenced and then the creek, but other than that we felt it was well enclosed and I’m sure it’ll be an even better spot once their fencing is complete. We have a gal who likes to wonder but she stayed closed with plenty of treats so we had no issues.
We’ll be back! Caelyn C.

55What a fun spot! Lots of paths to walk around and pretty sure this was the first time Ferdie was able to run in a creek! If it is your first time, leave a little extra time to find the spot. It sounds like Linda will be continuing to improve the spot and I can't wait to see what she does! I would suggest wearing some shoes with good tread! Ferdie loved it and so did we! Ellen M.

55Another wonderful visit. Love this woodsy spot where my dog can explore and run unconstrained by a leash. Linda is so sweet to leave treats for the humans to enjoy.

55We had another great walk here today. The woods are so peaceful and private. My dog loves exploring the trails and sniffing out all the woodland scents. He loves running down to the creek and taking a few dips too. If you’re adventuresome you can make it down to the creek too. There are three trails leading to the creek: one on a side hill, another is steep downward trek, and the other trail is a gentle slope and has log rounds as stepping stones. The log rounds are a bit slippery so I tried the side hill trail today and it was wasn’t too hard to navigate. Of course, my dog ran circles around me and navigated all the trails with ease and twice as many times as I did! I now have a contented and tired pup. Linda is a great host too. She is always very welcoming and communicative, and today she left us some water and treats. Thanks Linda for sharing your awesome property with the Sniffspot community!Bonnie B.

55This is my dog's FAVORITE sniff spot! There were so many lovely intersecting trails up and down the hillside that looped into each other that my dog ran circles around me exploring all the paths and nooks. Normally he gets bored quickly in fenced areas and but not here...he ran himself ragged in excitement the whole time all over the place. There are plenty of terraced rest locations for dog parents on this lovely wooded hillside fairytale land too. Sammy got a killer workout zooming everywhere and we will definately be back!Ramona B.

55Linda is welcoming and charming. My 2 dogs, Millie and Toby ran their heart's out! It was a fun wooded series of trail with a creek. I definitely loved it and plan on returning. She even left water bottles and treats on my windshield for me and my friend! There are ample water stations to rinse your dogs after their adventure.cynthia r.

55Beautiful property! Also a good place on a hot day due to the shade provided by the trees. Water spigots throughout the trails. This was a good space for us to practice recall too. I’m not sure who is more tired, me or Chai 😉 we would definitely come back! Hattie K.

55Amazing!!!! I can't believe something like this exists in a neighborhood setting! It's laid out in a very straight forward manner and I leashed up to go down to the creek. The dogs loved it and I did too :) Jessi C.

FAQ about our Des Moines dog fields
Are dog fields safe?
If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, distracted dog owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private space for just you and doggy friends you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). Especially for training, privacy is ideal. Contrary to public dog parks, all Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog for off leash exercise or outdoor training. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars, while public dog parks often do not even have verified reviews. All payment is done securely online by credit card in a few simple clicks.
All park rental information is available online. Start by filtering parks by fencing, size and distractions, to find a private spot that works for your dog. If your dog has poor recall, you can visit one of our secure fields. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog fields where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can review the details of the listing to make sure it works as your desired activity space, for example, safe dog exercise, dog training, a stress-free adventure with your furry friend or even a puppy event. You can even check the park amenities chart for amenities such as indoor training facilities, agility field, synthetic turf, exercise balls or field parking availability in advance. If inclement weather is an issue or poor field conditions, you can reschedule your visit up to 2 hours in advance.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?
We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?
No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
