Conveniently located next to a public trail access, and located within private property. The lawn is a mix of short grass and soft moss, this is regularly maintained and never sprayed with chemicals or fertilizers. Fully fenced on all four sides with no low spots\gaps. One secured swinging gate at the entrance. Dedicated parking along the road just before the house and is clearly marked with a sign! The table next to the fenced area has a mailbox with hand sanitizer and other goodies, there is also a water\food bowl available. (I have a hose on the side of the house you are welcome to use) Please dispose of any used poop bags and other trash in the little blue trash bin under the table. The road next to the fenced area is privately owned, so the only people and vehicles that pass by are residents and delivery couriers but they are not very visible due to the difference in elevation. People occasionally pass by on the public trail and some do bring their pets, but it is mostly obscured from view by the trees on our property and separated by two sets of fences. Note that we are within hearing distance from a sportsman club\firing range, so at times there may be noise. Please reach out with any questions you may have!

MMF is preferred by puppies, dogs, people, adults and kids alike because it has potable water, power, picnic tables, chairs, several firepits, lit portapotties, 3 swing sets, 3 slides, monkey bars, 3 Forts, a log bridge to cross over Little Ames Creek for when the creek is flowing, a doggy playground, lots of picturesque moss, lighted parking lot, woodchip trails and many footpaths over 5 forested moss covered acres. Parking is near the road, separated by 50 ft of woods, so we suggest that all our doggy friends be leashed until they are on the trails with you. Please leash your dog until into the forest away from the parking area, after that Bob's Your Uncle! Watch kids and dogs in the parking area near the road, and at Ames Creek. A secluded place to dork out and have fun, enjoying a natural Pacific rainforest. Note that the creek is dry in midsummer until the fall and winter rains kick in. Boots are recommended in the fall and winter. Find a map of the main trails in a photo on our MMF Sniffspot site. There are lots of foot trails through the understory ferns. The log bridge can be used to cross Ames Creek, or you can ford it to discover the rest of Magical Mossy Forest Sniffspot. Please pack out doggy bags with you because there is no garbage pickup here, please leave no trace. If there is a downpour and you want to wait it out there is a dry shed in the parking area. Access to power helps keep your batteries charged. Please carry your toilet paper (sorry it walks away). The portapotties are cleaned once a week. Boarded by two, large pastures, a private road with limited use and our barn. Occasionally during the wet months flocks of geese/ducks may land in the wetlands adjacent. We have goats, turkeys, geese, ducks and chickens but they are on the other side of the property and should not be seen/heard. We have two dogs, Veles and Flora, that will be on the other side of the property or in the house. There is a covered bench and trash can in the spot, fresh water is also available. An outdoor bathroom is available for use, see map. When using the bathroom please keep your pup in your car as it is near our goats and free range chickens. Our park has both sunny areas, and shady areas at all times of the day. Please do not pick or disturb the fruit and fence lines. Fetch on a few different long, and large lawns that are non fenced, off leash, for those that are in full control of the friendly dogs. We are off the road and a safe, quiet, very private property. No mud ever, all of our property drains properly and is well maintained. We have plenty of parking, our setting is very private above large homestead acreage quiet farmland fields of the Schwarzmiller River Valley, Barkley Park is just 3 miles from old town Lake Stevens. To enter the fenced Sniffspot follow the red reflectors up the grassy lawn hill past the large livestock gate that’s at the top, go around the top corner there is a people sized gate. Easy to find, easy to enter our fenced Sniffspot. Easy latch for coming, and going. If you choose to be adventurous you may choose to visit the forest area behind the fenced area. It’s a steep hill up with natural woodland ground, lots of ferns, beautiful nature untouched. Old trails exist, we have not cleared them in recent years, feel free to explore them if you would like to just know, they are not maintained and certain times of year there is brush and ferns. We have running water with a hose for your convenience at our pump house. You may occasionally see myself, my husband or my elderly mother by the house, and patio, working on the property and gardens, area around our home. We live above farms that takes care of their fields so you may hear mowing in the distance in the valley we set above. Please do not pick, or disturb the fruit on the trees. Please keep children, and all guests off the fence line, and do not step on the gates or fencing. Shut the gates when coming, and going. Please leash your dog/dogs upon arrival until you become aware of the setting. Your reservation must include the correct number of dogs in your visit that is stated in your reservation time. Correct or update this if need be before you start your visit at Barkley Park. We are happy to share our safe quiet countryside with pups and their people. We do not meet our Sniffspot guests, with that being said, feel free to send us a text or ask if you need help with anything. Enjoy! We do offer pet boarding in our home for select clients. Everything our pup enjoys in life, is available to your pet, including a big pillow bed in the heart of our home.

Cute, secluded spot! I have a larger reactive dog and this fully fenced area away from distractions was perfect. I don’t let him off leash so this was great fun for him. This was our very first sniff spot and it was such a good experience it will not be our last.

I’m leaving five stars because the location was peaceful and nicely maintained. The homeowner has great signage and directions to the spot, as well as complementary bags and other needed items. However, if you’re looking for a larger area for larger dogs or dogs that like to roam, this might not be for you. I misread the size as being .6 of an acre, not .06.

Cute little fenced yard area. Pretty area to enjoy the view while playing with your pup. Perfectly clean and mowed. I didn’t see seating inside the fenced area or a water bowl, but I didn’t need either of those for my visit. Nice that she had poop bags if you didn’t. Definitely will go again.

Ann’s spot is so peaceful. After playing some fetch, my foster dog and I enjoyed just sitting in the grass, hanging out, getting needed decompression time after a stressful walk earlier in the day. We’ll keep coming back!

Another great visit. Safe fenced area pretty scenery. Mowed area with lots of trees. Do bring water for your pup - there’s a bowl but no water that I saw. I was able to hear the rifle club as another reviewer mentioned, but it was far enough off that it didn’t bother my dog at all. My dog is not sound sensitive so your mileage may vary!

This is a great smaller fully fenced in yard! My dog had a great time getting her energy out running around the yard. The dedicated parking spot is a great addition. The only thing to be aware of is some exposed pipes under the grass in the back left corner, my dog was fascinated by the pipes and I had to keep her away from that, but otherwise we had a great time!

The backyard was secluded which was very helpful for my dog, and they provided doggie bags to clean up with as well as a water bowl for the doggos.

This yard is small but great for anyone with a dog who has a disability!!! Why? Because for visually impaired or dogs with mobility issues it's flat and without holes to step in or obstacles to run in to. For hearing impaired dogs it's small enough that you can easily get their attention. And for dog with sensitivity to seeing other dogs or people there's thick tree and brush cover (it's set down a hill from the street on a private access road). For those who are sound sensitive or have sound triggered PTSD this might not be the best spot for you because it's within the neighborhood of a shooting range. We were far enough away that my dogs didn't react to the sounds at all, but they were apparent. The host was very friendly and accommodating. The spot was clean and well manicured.

Parking is where you turn left at end of road. If you have a crazy dog like mine you do need to walk a short distance. Nice sturdy fence. Great for medium to small or dogs who would never jump a fence. You can definitely hear the shooting range so not appropriate for reactive dogs. A smaller area but pretty! Responsive host!!!!

A little slice of doggy heaven! This spot is small but very private and quiet. I brought my theee large Pyrenees mixes and they had a great time sniffing and playing. If you have medium to smaller dogs (or big lazy ones like one of mine) this spot will be absolutely perfect.

What a wonderful experience!!! You can tell lots of care has gone into making this Sniffspot comfortable and accommodating. Parking was easy, the yard was beautiful and secure, and there was even a little trash can and extra waste bags. We will be returning!!! (Please note you can hear the rifle range in the distance— it was not at all disruptive for us, but just a tiny detail to be aware of if your pup isn’t a fan of ‘booms’ ☺️)

The spot is very nice and clean, the doggie bags and trash can are easily accessible. The spot isn't very large, good for medium and small dogs so it worked out perfect for us! The parking is a little confusing, it's located before the house on the road, overall great spot!
