Updated october 17 2024 Daily 7 A.M. until 7 P.M. we offer a partially fenced 100 acre property where your dogs can run free. We have 3 official trails currently, plus 2 groomed 1 acre field play areas. At this time there are also 2 large fields that have been harvested of soy and are perfect for walking and playing. We have chairs in the first field for you to relax. We have a Chuckit available to throw balls for your dogs. Fresh well water in a bucket, for dogs, and bowls, are provided in the first field also. There is a pond in the first field right behind the deer you'll see there. I don't recommend it for humans at all and only for dogs in May, but dogs have been swimming in there all summer and seem to be liking it fine! From there we have a mile long gravel walking trail along fields and forest. It's very straight, and if you stay on the trail, you can't get lost. It is very quiet and peaceful. Part way back there is a small run-off creek and metal culvert that is suitable for dog swimming in the spring and this summer due to all the rain we have had. This is marked with orange pylons so is avoidable if you put your dogs back on a lead as you pass. You can often see deer, wild turkeys and lots of birds, sometimes bald eagles. A walk to the end and back is 2 miles and takes 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Just past the culvert, we offer a trail around 2 plowed wheat fields going East. It's along woods and takes about 15 minutes ending on the main trail. In the second wheat field, there is a trail cam along the edge on the far East side, so be advised. I have put photos up of where all the trail cameras are until the end of December. If we capture your image, or your dogs, we will simply delete it. Just past the entrance to the wheat fields on the main trail, we have several soybean fields that have been harvested and are very flat. You can go wherever you like on these fields! Just past this field there is a deer tree stand on the West side. Currently we have a trail camera at the base of this stand so be advised. After this you will reach the base of the big hill along the main trail. You can also access the Shady Walk at the bottom of the big hill. This walk is very pretty, maybe 10 minutes in and ends in another small field area. This small field has a deer stand and does, at this time, have a trail camera in there on a tree so be advised. Note that our calendar will be blocked whenever the Spot is being used for any sort of hunting. ** In Ontario October, November and December is deer hunting season so it is advised to always wear bright colours, wherever you walk! Be dressed for gravel on the trail, uneven footing on the wheat field trail, and potential water and mud puddles on the property in wet seasons and after rain. The main trail runs North/South so if you want a sunny walk, go at midday. A shaded walk, go after 3 p.m. Cooler times are before 11 a.m. and after 4 this time of year. We plan to add a trail through the woods in the late fall once the insects and ticks die off. We have a white garbage can for poop but please use biodegradable dog poop bags. ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD per hour for the first dog, subsequent dogs are $6/hour and guests will be charged in USD*** On your way home, stop at MacKinnon's brewery just down the road for food and drinks. We have three areas for you to enjoy, all are fully fenced and are included in the rental price. We have a fully fenced acre of woods with a trail that goes through to explore. It is accessed through the gate in the backyard. We also have a front yard and deep backyard, great for running, fetch and recall training. The yard is 1.5 acres and also fully fenced. During the summer you have access to two seating areas including a picnic table, gazebo for shade (seasonally) a 30 foot tether is also available if you would like to have your dog stay beside you while you relax. During the winter, paths are plowed in both yards and in the woods within 3-5 hours of a significant snowfall. Hard packed snow and mild weather can create icy sections on the property, we put down sand and pet safe ice melt on the trails to help. Feel free to contact us for trail conditions before booking. New timeslots open up daily. Our Sniffspot is our backyard (attached to the house), which is about 1.5 acres of mostly open lawn... great for playing fetch or running at top speed! It is securely fenced with 5' fencing. There is seating, gazebo, dog toys, and agility equipment and a dog pool in the summer. In the winter there are plowed paths. A separate, 8 acre fenced field with walking paths is also available. All breeds are welcome. Reactive dogs welcome. VACCINES: All visiting dogs MUST be up to date on core vaccines (DHPP) or titer tested. We reserve the right to ask for a vaccine certificate. FOSTER DOGS: Foster dogs in rescue visit for free! I have 5 acres of meadow with trails cut through it. Behind my property is a private, seasonal road that I don’t own. I have a tiny house on wheels that I live it year round. I will have water set up. I do have a pond in my property that can be used. There are tons of apples to be had as well as berries in season. I have patio furniture set up for sitting.
