The 50 acres is mostly timber, with a 7 acre pond that has water in it most of the year. It will dry up on really hot years. I do have chickens and pack goats by the house. But they are inside mesh fencing, so your dogs won’t be able to get to them. The 50 acres is completely fenced with a 3 to 5 strand Barbwire fence. It’s in good shape. It is also the property boundary. So as long as you stay inside of the fence, you will be on the property. There are not a lot of neighbors but the ones I have are nice. When you come up the driveway, you can pass the house and drive up on the hill and Park at the conex container. There is lots of wildlife on the property, and I highly recommend that your dog has some sort of tick repellent, we do have ticks in the spring time. The upper part of the driveway is not graveled, so if there’s melting snow, or a lot of ran, it can get muddy. So be prepared for that. This is the most beautiful Sniffspot! John showed us the property and it's just a dream-- tons of tiny trails, creeks, a hidden cabin in the middle of it all, and so much to smell and explore for a dog! If your dog isn't great at recall, you'll get a workout chasing them around, but even when Rey was out of sight, she always ran back to check on me. This is huge and technically unfenced, so do be aware of that, but we didn't have a problem. John and Stephanie were super friendly and we introduced Rey to the goats, who confounded and intrigued her. I'll be back with my whole family next time!

This is truly an enchanting place! Easy directions and signage from the road. John welcomed us warmly and guided us through his magical farm. We had to keep Dottie leashed during the walkthrough as there were so many wonderful animals on the way, including two incredible Scottish highland cows!! Once through to the pasture it felt like we had an entire state park to ourselves. No other animals in sight. Lots of trails, bridges, and a gorgeous creek! Extra hospitality points as John gave us a tour of his workshop and shared with us stories from his world travels. Can’t wait for him to finish the cabin, as would love to return and spend a night there.

We love it here!! The farm itself is just adorable....the animals are so precious milling around all together in the same pasture, happy as can be and Stephanie & John are just such kind, welcoming hosts. As it was our first time at Spring Acre’s at Fiveash Farm, John came out to meet us. John was a wonderful host, advising where we could go with the dogs. He let us know what animals of his would be in or near the field that we would have to cross to get to the Sniffspot. He took us to the cabin where we could hang out on the deck especially since it was raining. Lots of trails to explore. Of course our Husky made her own trails. Our lab mix absolutely loved the creek. This place was everything we were hoping it would be.

Great spot. Tons of room to roam and several trails. Takes about 2 hours to walk/hike all the trails. Some areas get extremely muddy, especially along blacktail trail so that's something to be aware of. Walking sticks provided. Host is very kind and his animals are well behaved but if you're not 100% sure your dog is goat friendly make sure you request the back entrance, the goats are nosy. Unfortunately I learned that the hard way with one of mine but no one was hurt and thankfully the host was understanding. Like others have said the walk through the pasture is guided and on-leash. A biodegradeable poo bag drop off is available near the entrance gate. I'd highly recommend it especially for more energetic and agile dogs

We had an amazing first trip to Fiveash Farm! John walked us through the pasture (on leash) so my pups wouldn't be tempted to chase chickens or bunnies or goats LOL. Once on the other side my fur babies had the time of their lives running through the woods, splashing in the creek and sniffing all the wild smells. One of our absolute best favorite Sniffspots. John & Stephanie are the most welcoming hosts you can imagine and we are always so happy to be here. The first time we came I was worried about Cooper getting through the pasture but now it's part of our fun...the animals are all so sweet and Cooper seems to really like them. This is our second visit to Spring Acre’s at Fiveash Farm. Similar to our first visit, the hosts greeted us warmly. They showed us through their pasture that includes cattle, goats, and chickens (I believe they have an alternative entrance upon request). Once safely outside of the pasture, it was off-leash exploring! This place is a DREAM for those that enjoy hiking with their pups, but have reservations about seeing other dogs along the way. It was nice being able to enjoy the crafted trails, while letting the pup sniff and explore at her pace and desire. Once into the woods, it feels almost entirely secluded from the world (some spots you can see the farm, and others hear traffic noise from the road). For being a private hike though, I would choose it every time over say... Rattlesnake Ledge. Even more exciting, once the pup was safely back in our car, the hosts gave us an up close meet and greet with their Scottish Highland cows! They’re such beautiful, and docile animals!! I am so very grateful the host have offered to share their space! I can’t wait to go back!!

Monroe had a great first visit at Spring Acres!! We hiked all the trails, played fetch with sticks in the creek and the big grassy field! John kindly welcomed us and walked us through the pasture with bunnies, cattle, chicken and a few goats, up to the little cabin explaining where all we could go. take a pretty drive to this gorgeous property. you’ll be greeted by the kind and gracious john and stephanie who will guide you through the pasture where your dog can see chickens, goats, and scottish highland cows. across the creek you and your dog can run and climb winding trails through trees and forest vegetation. put your feet in the cool clear water, breathe in the clean air, and enjoy the joyful exuberance your dog displays. this may have been my newly adopted puppy aila’s best day ever. i felt my stress and anxiety melt away. i could not recommend this excursion highly enough.
