55A wonderful new SniffSpot in the Rogue Valley just opened! There’s lots of room to explore and run—and the fencing is secure! The host, Kerri, moved her horses to an adjoining pasture when we arrived so that Annie & Cisco weren’t distracted— although, of course, they are collies and occasionally would check to see if the horses needed tending. Kerri plans to add a shaded area where you can sit & watch your pups. We walked the acreage with our dogs and then brought out their collie ball. They had a blast herding it.Virginia L M.

55First time visiting this spot and my dogs had a blast!! There is plenty of room to explore and play frisbee. We walked both pastures and my dogs were in heaven. The large water bowl was a huge plus if you ask Remy!
My dogs are respectful of fences and boundaries but if your dog doesn’t have a solid recall then a longline would be perfect to still fully enjoy the pastures. My little corgi could easily slip through and she’s not totally use to horses so she was kept on a line so I can continue desensitizing her to them. They were fed away from us and mostly kept to themselves. Two did wander over to say hello which was fine to us but if you have a dog who’s reactive to livestock that’s something to keep in mind. :)
The host is extremely nice and very welcoming, this is easily going to become one of our new favorites. Directions were easy to follow too.Ally F.

55Had ourselves another GREAT visit. I brought my more sensitive dog and he approved! Despite all the rain the pasture wasn’t muddy, much to my surprise and delight. Very easy to dry my dogs off afterwards. There is now a lovely bucket of toys and treats to enjoy, my boys loved playing with the provided chuck-it and you can throw as hard as you want without worrying it’ll go over a fence! Ally F.

55Ended up getting a cold and the weather was pretty gross, so we ended up not visiting today. However, the communication was excellent and I'm looking forward to getting my guy out there soon to have a run around!Liz S.

How do I know if a small dog park works for my dog?
Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing and distractions, to find a dog park that works for your furry friends. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our small dog park sites where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can see any park amenities provided, including a park bench, water for dogs or water features such as kiddie pool or water hose. If your dog loves water, you can go to a park with water features, but if they don't love water, you can avoid them. We also recommend reading reviews to check for park maintenance issues and reaching out to the host with any questions. And lastly, of course, check park hours. Many of our parks are open from dawn until dusk.
