55This is our second time visiting this spot and it was amazing both times. I love hiking but my dog is reactive so being able to do this together warms my heart - it’s just like hiking at Kelso or any local trail, but it’s private and your dog can be off leash! The map is clear and so are the trail markings so it’s easy to avoid any neighbouring properties. We got a bit muddy and there were some mosquitoes, but no ticks both times. Most of the trails have tree coverage except for the end by the pond and bunkie so you can stay pretty cool as you go. We booked 1.5 hours and my dog was tired after about 1 hour, but you could easily spend 2 hours here! The owner’s dog did bark at us safely from inside the house as we were getting into the car to leave (could only hear and not see them), and my dog is totally fine with that but if it would spook your dog you may want to message the owner ahead of time as I’m sure that could be avoided. I met Annie both times and she was so friendly and accommodating! 10/10 would recommend. Erika P.

55A fabulous space to get away from it all.
The air was clean and clear, the sounds of nature were all that we could hear and the dogs were in a happy place.
And THAT is what is important.
A tired dog is a happy dog and our pups had a great nap home!
Will be returning again soon!Tara H.

55My dog hasn’t been able to enjoy her favourite thing, which is swimming in so long due to her reactivity. I’m so glad we found a place like this! Definitely recommend staying 1.5 minimum - especially if your dogs like to swim! The owners were super friendly and helpful.Courtney H.

55We had an amazing time. Annie was super friendly and helpful, she printed out a map for us which was really thoughtful. The trail markings and signage were very clear, very easy to get in and back out. It was 30 degrees Celsius but we couldn’t tell with all the tree coverings and amazing breeze. It was absolutely perfect. There were little offshoots with campsites that we explored, I think we had as much fun as our dogs did. Will definitely be revisiting in the near future. Melissa H.

55This is such a beautiful place. The love and care for the land by Mike and Annie is so evident. Beautiful plant life. I can't wait to come again. My dog loved every second there! Also a massive thank you for having a toilet available. I drove from Scarborough so by the time I got there I had to pee real bad. Jillian C.

55Great spot! Annie was very friendly and informative when I arrived. Bug spray is a MUST... left a little early because of them, but bugs are to be expected when you're in the woods. The dog loved every second! Vania R.

FAQ about our Acton dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.

Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails.
