Rainy season update: we will continue to be open throughout the winter, even with all the rain. It is going to be muddy, but hopefully not too bad. To cut down on the mud, we won't be taking the tractor in to fill holes, so please watch your step when walking around. Close to downtown Corvallis, come let your dog run free and just be a dog for a little while. Our newly fenced in area is a work in progress and we will be adding more things to do for pups and their humans. This is a fenced, grassy, fairly rough pasture a short drive out of town, perfect for training and playing with your dog. Chairs and picnic table available. Note: during heavy rains in the winter months the field will be closed due to the wear and tear on the grass. Closures will be noted in the title page. There is a small drainage ditch in one corner of the field. A bowl and faucet is available for your use during warm weather, there is detergent there if you want to clean out the bowl. Memphis’s meadow is fully fenced with new 5ft field fence. The lowest point is a three foot man gate by the house. It’s beautifully sloping park like setting with large mature trees. There is always shade to be found no matter the time of day. We offer extra amenities and are always open to suggestions! There is a larger 8ft wide stock gate (also secured with woven 5 foot fence) near the parking area. This is marked with a beautiful wood sign and sharing library. Please help yourself. We have two green chairs please feel free to move them around the yard as you wish and a picnic table to enjoy morning coffee, lunch break with your pooch or even a nice evening picnic to watch the sunset. We have added a gazebo for enjoyment on sunny days and rainy day’s alike! Feel free to send us a note if you have a special request or ideas on how to make your visit more enjoyable! As a note, we do have chickens across the driveway from where you access the spot. They are secure in their own space. If you are interested in farm fresh eggs let me know and I can set a dozen out for a small donation. Egg cartons are always welcome!

The outdoor space is available during daylight hours. Indoor space is available as an add-on and recommended for evening visits or during inclement weather. First-time guest? The pastures are cross-fenced, allowing for room to explore but not too far. An indoor riding arena is available as an add-on. It is enclosed on three sides, keeping the wind and weather out during playtime. It is well-lit for evening use. Horses offer additional entertainment but are always a safe distance with a large space (enough to drive a large truck through) between fence lines. The animals are not reactive to the dogs even when barking at them. The farm animals don't respond to the dogs, so often the dogs move on to exploring the space. We have some simple agility items in the space along with balls and other toys to help entertain both you and your dogs. As a guest, you have access to: * Fully Fenced Acre of play space for off-leash adventures * Water - Lift the green handle to start the flow of water * Poop baggies * White garbage can * Dog towels, clean ones in the clear container, and dirty ones go into the grey tote. We ask you to use 1 towel per visit if possible. * Porta Potty * Shelter with chairs and a small table you can put anywhere in the field during your visit we just ask that you put them back when you are done. * During the summer days we include a doggie pool. They are blue kiddie pools. Double them up when you use them so they are easier to empty and less likely to break. Please dump the pool and return it to the corner when you are finished. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: This is a field that has uneven ground including mole and gopher holes. Please watch your step. Please keep within the Sniffspot area. If you happen to throw a ball over a fence just message me and I can retrieve it for you. It is important to stay outside of areas marked private property. Those gates also have extra locks, but we want to be sure everyone stays safe. USE OF INDOOR ARENA: During harsh weather (over 95 degrees or winter would be those days of wind and heavy rain) the indoor arena may be an option. YOU MUST MESSAGE me before the visit to ask for us so we can make that ready for you if it is available. That space is in an area marked private property. As winter approaches and post- icepocolyps logging winds down, I would like to test a pricing option. For the winter months, at least, I am going to offer sliding scale discounts. The guest can choose their pay rate for sanctuary use based on their moment-to-moment economic status. Discounts are as follows: $2 off (JMSS2); $4 off (JMSS4); $6 off (JMSS6). Enter the discount code (in parentheses) for your desired discount. Just as a reminder, or for new inquiries, the effort and cost to recover/rebuild Jasper Memorial Sanctuary was extensive and expensive. Material costs were over $5000. Labor costs, had I hired all the hours worked, are over $15,000. The price increase for utilizing the Sanctuary is small in comparison to the expenses incurred from the loss (0.1%). Thank you to all my amazing guests who have given your dog(s) opportunity to find their calm within by visiting Jasper Memorial Sanctuary. It is amazing to see your dogs and you finding your inner peace. Thank you too for following all of the rules to keep this SS sustainable into the future. The fee set is the amount needed to allow me to keep this site open and provide improvements when needed. (I understand other sites charge less, but I've learned charging less is not financially sustainable. Hosts do not earn what they charge). I love hosting new and returning guests. RECENT IMPROVEMENTS/RESTORATION: Approximately 80 damaged/downed trees removed. 40 uprooted stumps ground out 340' of new 5' fencing installed 140' fencing repaired New entrance gate/location created 100s perhaps 1000s of poison oak dug out (it's still present, just fewer) Culvert installed at entrance with gravel path to gate (pending) New signs installed A 6'x6' sand box has been added. Please encourage digging in this location only. Discourage digging in all other locations for the safety of everyone and the preservation of the environment. A poop bag dispenser has been installed on a post near the gate and will be kept filled. Jasper Memorial Sanctuary, named in memory of my soul dog Jasper, is no larger than 1.3 acres in and fully fenced. The acreage is a combination of mid-age dense timber, new reforestation, devastation zone and open grass. The area is flanked on two sides by driveway. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀. Be respectful of wildlife. Deer and turkey roam the property and consider the space their home. If there are wild animals in the sanctuary enclosure upon your arrival, please keep your dog(s) on leash until the other animals have vacated the area. Under no circumstance are dogs allowed to chase wildlife. Domestic and rescued animals that live on the property include horses, donkeys, geese and chickens. 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 and do not approach any of these animals. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 is about 50' away from the entrance gate. Please keep dog(s) on leash until within the fenced enclosure. 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 - If you have reason to have more than two vehicles for your visit, please contact me prior to reserving for pre-approval. If approved, there will be an "Extra" fee to add to your reservation. Please select the appropriate "Extra" for the number of vehicles approved. It’s very easy to find - labeled with signs. It’s a massive 1.5 acres, good fence, and cool trees. My dog got to roam and have fun. Also water dish is provided, but make sure to bring water. Will definitely bring my dog again.

This is a nice spot for my pup to run. It has what I needed and is very convenient as well. There is a water source there provided by a hydrant and hose, a water bucket as well as a dish. A table with a couple chairs to relax at as well. The fencing and gate are new and sturdy. It's very nice to sit in the middle of Oregon State University's Experimental Agricultural fields. Wide-open vistas are great. Rocky and I appreciate the use!

Our dogs had lots of fun at this spot! The water hose and pool were a nice bonus. They also enjoyed having the opportunity to dig some good holes. The location is secure and easy to find. We’ll be back!

Nice open space with places to dig, kiddie pool, hose, and water bowl. Super convenient to get to and has seating. I ate my breakfast while the dog explored.

My only issue was that my Maps app had me on the wrong side of the field, and it took me awhile to locate the fiedl. But it is a great place to run dogs! My girls had a blast. I will go again and will take pictures next time.

Lots to explore such as small trees in the back, and plenty of holes from previous guests, or other small animals. Very safe as it’s fully fenced. We enjoyed resting at the table and chairs and watching our dog enjoy the room to roam. Well back.

This was a great little spot. Very quiet and secure. There are a lot of holes from various critters and probably from other dogs. Not somewhere I felt comfortable playing fetch with my dogs in case they put a foot in a hole and injured themselves. But we throughly enjoyed our time and everyone was tired and happy when we left.

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
