55Nice spot! My dog loved all the smells and being able to run off lead. If you have a reactive dog this is a great spot to visit as its remote and there were no other people/dogs. There is a fairly busy road near the property and it is not fully fenced so be sure to watch out for that. There were cats that remained close to the home and those were the only other animals I saw the entire time. My dog loved this spot I cant wait to take her again.Monique S.

55We loved this spot! We made the drive from NE Fresno and it was definitely worth it.
There's lots to explore and the owners of the property are very friendly. My two dogs are seniors and can only handle about 45 minutes of romping around, but I would highly recommend booking up to 2 hours here if you have a young dog full of energy!
We stayed close to (what I think was) the river. There wasn't any water in it, but my dogs had a blast munching on the bank grass, wading through the muddier spots, and smelling all the smells.
We did see two dogs on the back end of the property while we were driving around looking for the river - one was a doodle and the other probably some kind of kelpie mix. They looked well fed & groomed, so I would assume they were a neighbor's dogs. We use SniffSpot because my German Shepherd has severe dog-directed aggression and finding conducive forms of exercise for him is hard. We found an area further away from the property line and didn't run into them again! Just something to be aware of if your dog has similar issues 🙂Sandra M.

55Near the far back corner of the property we did see a medium-large white dog on the adjacent property that I’m not sure was contained so we avoided that area.
There are beehives but the bees didn’t bother us and we gave the hives space. Interesting to see beekeeping!
When you pull into the main driveway at the house there’s chickens around so be careful if your dogs would go after chickens.
A better way to access the walkable area is a dirt road that goes into the orchard area. You can pull off from Dover avenue to a dirt road that runs alongside the “riverside ditch” (as it’s labeled in google maps). From that point there wasn’t any sight or sound of the chickens.
There is a restroom but it’s a portable.
There is a canal / ditch, at pretty much every point it’s sloped enough that any dog that might go in could get out. No water while we were there. There’s also some sharp farming machinery stored out there that could cut a dog or person if they’re oblivious.
I’m not complaining at all, just want others to know what I noted. We plan to be back in the future! Hanna M.

55It was absolutely beautiful, plenty of space. I would be aware of bees, saw 2 workers but other than that it was just us. Definitely going again! Rebecca S.

55Nice orchards for the dogs to run around in! We read the other reviews and took the road next to the ditch to access the orchards without having to greet the dogs past the cats and chickens in the main house/drive way.
Thanks! the dogs had a blast. Jing H.

55It was such a great experience! Our dog is pretty reactive so we are so glad that we got to relax and enjoy a walk out in nature. (The chickens and cats were a great way to get our dog exposed to other animals in a safe environment.) We all had a great time on the property. Very peaceful!! Stephanie i.

55This place was great! So much room for the pups to run and they loved being able to get in the water. We will definitely be back! If your pups like to swim and roll in dirt like mine then just be prepared with towels and necessary things for your car. Courtney W.

55I really enjoyed the visit. There were tons of areas to explore, and I'd have loved to stay longer, but my pup is small and tires easily due to being young still but she definitely was curious and walked/sniffed around.M H.

55Big thanks to the gentleman who helped us find the entrance to the area, lots of orchards to wonder through. Wonderful shaded area. There no water in the creek right now (Oct 2024). Perfect area to wander around with our dogs. Thank you! We will be back again. 🐶 Cristina P.

Katherine's 1.5 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Hanford | Sniffspot
55It is a completely fenced in area. Lots of toys laying around. My dog is very reactive and the host does like to visit her guests. (Which is ok) for the most part. But needs to be a little more communicative with that part. Especially when hosting reactive dogs. Which I did mention in our chat beforehand. But I do have other dogs I can take that would love to visit her spot! Selina R.

FAQ about our Hanford dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 95% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Hanford area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 55 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 5 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
