Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, several nature trails for hiking adventures, and a wetland-like area with a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk over logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over in places, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are two bridges over the creek, and we will be adding one more bridge at the far west end of the spot soon. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit you will see improvements! We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs (message us in advance if you need more chairs and we’ll put them out for you), and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, sunscreen, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. We also provide snacks and beverages for humans and doggos! Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, a round metal table w/umbrella & 4 metal chairs, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is VERY secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. We have wood chips along trails and in muddy areas which help a lot! Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We recently added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who visit after dark. They provide subtle light at the entryway, main field, and the shelter for about 4-5 hrs after it gets dark outside. If you you want to explore the trails after dark we recommend putting a collar light on your dog(s), and that you bring headlamps and flashlights 🔦. ***We recently added a small bridge over the middle section of the creek! Don’t be surprised if they come up to the fence to see what’s going on. The animals have been raised around dogs and are not bothered by them. They would come out if they could. Very nice field fencing in pasture. Chain link/field fencing in training field. As of now the training field and pasture are muddy and slick in areas. Agility equipment can be slick also due to rain. Hello I am Mookie, a Golden Doodle who loves to play ball and my Human is Grace. She got me this place with a long yard, perfect for playing with a chuck it! I begged for a pug and she let me have Frankie. We are happy to share our yards which have different areas for different Dog needs. Human needs can be taken care of too. We are relatively new to Sniffspot and will be adding new features as we go. Our pictures show how much we have changed since we opened the very snowy end of January. Frankie and I will not be coming out to visit your dogs, but once you leave we will enjoy learning about them on our scent hunt. We believe this will create a lot of interest and fun for us and for your special family members too. A little info about my place, I have safe space to unload and load the doggos. Important to close the gate as you enter and exit the property. Everywhere is fenced. It is 2 acres total, the area that you will be playing in is a very nice long field with a small pool which gets changed between guests, and a larger one that My human adds water to between guests. it looks dirty, however, it is from the sand box and dirt hills that my human made for the dogs to play in. It is too large for her to clean after each guest. There is a water hose with a shower head that you can use for play and clean up as well. Added attraction, MOLES and we love sniffing after them. Be watchful of holes that my human missed filling between guests, she tries very hard to find them, but Frankie is a digger! This is a place for fun , everything is not perfect , but the yard is a lot of fun for Frankie and also for me! We love to explore and sometimes we see deer here and other wild animals! UPDATE: All fences are secure. IF for some reason your dog slips out the farm gate entrance to the sniff spot, the entire property is fenced, and your dog will not get out. There is a shade canopy which will protect from the rain and some chairs to relax in. You may encounter holes because dogs love to dig in the soft turf and the hill of dirt, please let me know if you find some that my human and I have not gotten filled between visits and she will fix that! With so many trees, there will be branches down. I find that the dogs love to pick through those sticks. I try to keep on top of the really big ones, but if you see any let my human know. PLEASE NOTE: If your ball or other toys go over the fence, they now belong to my neighbor! PLEASE You must not go over the fence to get them!! I have other balls and will be happy for you to use them while here, if they go over, I can deal with him later! Thank you for your consideration of my neighbors. Lisa was great and accommodating when I inquired about cats on the property (my dog has a high prey drive). Our older dog still loves ball time but needs fences to deter her from said Prey drive. She was curious about the Alpacas and chickens which is also great for her mental stimulation. She's still tired a day after her 1 hr of ball play!

This was my very first booking and it was wonderful. Lisa was so friendly and helpful. The property has a little bit of everything- heavy tree cover, vegetation and leaves to scamper through, wide open spaces to use the Chuck-it. Lisa even sells fresh eggs and organic jam! Bruno did NOT want to leave, even though it was pouring rain. He had so much fun, he pouted in the back seat the whole way home. We will definitely go back! Such a great first experience!

A total of 3 Small areas for the dogs to investigate. The fencing is not secure for very small dogs. Ducks and alpaca in view, which was fine as there are 2 fences between the dogs and the critters. Overall a nice place. Not as open as I'd hoped, but we made it work.

Large, safe fenced in area for pup to roam. Drove past it initially because I didn't see any sign, other than for eggs, etc but my GPS took me right to the address provided. Wondered how my dog would handle alpacas, but there is a separate buffer area so they aren't nose to nose. My dog ignored them. Thanks for sharing your space.

I just got home from our first-ever Sniffspot! My Labrador Nora loved being able to freely frolic and investigate the entire park. I also took my son's Labradoodle, Moseby, who can be finicky with other dogs. I love the idea of renting the park so Moseby could have the time of his life playing his favorite game, ball! The dogs appreciated the drinking water, toys, and shade. Overall, a great experience.

This place is perfection. I want to give it more than five stars. So many sniffs. If you have really little dogs they may slink through the gaps by the gates but that park is so big and well done, you'd miss out. Water for the dogs, shaded area, poop bags, everything. Nova even found a mud pit and was loving it, she gives that 8/5. The neighbors have a dog that I saw once and heard twice but since that is on one side only, it's fairly easy to just be on the other side. There were 4 dogs behind the neighbor's fence in the front where the egg shed is, but your dog should be in the car at that time and tuckered out.

Our dogs give this place a 5 paw review! They are happily exhausted. Our older dog was finally able to play w a ball without the threat of others stealing his ball and there was plenty of space for our younger one could run at full sprint and go smell all the things. We have saved this as a favorite and will definitely be back! It’s also nice to know that the money goes toward a charity. Bonus for the fresh veggies and eggs available for purchase!

Whimsical animal flags welcomed us on our drive past the gate and out to the wonderfully large space for lots of running, sniffing and chilling in the shade. Calamity Jane and Ruffian have found their new favorite Sniffspot! Flat, open space, shade to rest in, seating for humans, toys to play with, and so many sniffs to sniff. At one point we could hear a neighboring property’s dog barking, but the privacy screen is well installed and though Ruffian alerted, she made no moves toward the fence and recalled off quite easily. (No mean feat!) I’m so excited to support IPIF this way and I’m so happy to have a safe way to let my “reactive rover” Ruffian release some of her energy. Calamity is just always happy to be along for the ride.

This park was a wonderful treat for my 11-month-old miniature Schnauzer. The huge area gave her plenty of room to run free and allowed us to practice her coming when I called. She enjoyed playing fetch, and I plan to use the agility equipment when we return. And, we will return! Having such a great private park to use, plus being able to support I Paw'd It Forward, is a win/win!

Are small dog parks safe?

While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by park users so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars.

We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that owners sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. We also require that pet owners follow safety protocols around water features.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot park at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
