55This is my absolute favorite sniffspot. Not only was the property like a little piece of heaven for humans and dogs alike, John the host was wonderful and oh so welcoming!
Our German Shepherd puppy and 10 year old Schnoodle explored this spot with absolute delight - heavily wooded trails, an exciting river, lots of gurgling streams, many quaint little bridges, whimsically named paths. So much care has been taken with this place, it is breathtaking. Such adventures to be had for the pups and such restoration for the soul. John showed us all the important parts and got us started on the right track. I didn’t expect it to live up to rhe hour plus trip there but it surpassed my expectations! We will be back. Thank you! 55This place is a pure delight to all senses : serene , mostly shady , with a cozy beach area by the shallow creek . Gracious hosts , John & Stephanie , put a lot of thoughts & craftsmanship into the land to create this charming oasis for pets and their owners enjoyment.
Location and parking are well marked & secure , area is adequately fenced with clear paths throughout , numerous benches & chairs to rest ; bio degradable waste bags & smart disposal are thoughtfully provided .
We were looking for a safe & fun place for our rumbustious dog to roam through , and found a tranquil retreat for ourselves. Owners are doing an outstanding job to create a welcoming environment. Mila V.

55Dogs and humans all enjoyed our visit to Fiveash Farm including a meet and greet with a goat and splashing in the creek. Hosts are friendly and helpful and provided us with a tour around the property. Very picturesque with room to run and explore and some great spots for taking pictures.
For the best experience wear boots, some spots are a little muddy and the bridges can be slippery. We will definitely return for another visit!Sue C.

55It was pouring down rain but we still enjoyed our walk through the woods. Be sure to wear boots this time of year and it’s important to be careful on the wooden bridges as they are slippery. Recommend using one of the large branches as a walking stick. Highly recommend this spot for a great workout for human and canine alike!Bonnie B.

55Great spot. We have visited before, but brought a friend this time. John is extremely welcoming and the property is lovely. It was wet with the recent rain, but other than a small water crossing you were able to stay pretty clean and dry. Brianna A.

55We have been to Spring Acres several times now and we absolutely love it! To begin with, the hosts, John and Stephanie are really warm and welcoming and they are there to greet us each time. John walks us through the pasture past their livestock and because I have a reactive dog, I was really worried about it at first. However, it went very well and it gets easier each time. The area past the pasture includes a grassy area by a creek - a great place to play fetch and romp in the water. Past the creek is several acres of wooded trails which are a blast to explore with your pooch at your side (or in my case, he’s way down the trail in front of me!) It seems like we find a new trail each time too. The trails are nicely maintained but are quite hilly and do have some muddy spots. Be prepared with good walking shoes and to get a good workout. Even though the area isn’t fully fenced most of the property has natural borders like blackberries and other underbrush that keep the property well contained. The property is completely private too and there is no risk of running into other people or dogs so it is a perfect place to exercise a reactive dog. I am so grateful we found this place - now I don’t have to worry about getting my dog enough exercise and stimulation. Overall, a great Sniffspot for a reactive pooch (or any pooch for that matter.)Bonnie B.

55We had another great time! It had rained for a couple days but was beautiful when we arrived. The creek was already quite a bit higher which made it all the more fun for Jasper to splash around in. Thanks again Stephanie and John for providing such a great Sniffspot.Bonnie B.

55Alex was such a gracious and warm host standing in for John and Stephanie - thank you! The dogs were in heaven between the sun dappled pastures, the creek, mud puddles and tiny bridges. And what a relief to see the poo composter at the exit to make some deposits vs carrying it back in the car. (Bring compostable dog poop bags!) We had the perfect excursion, ending with eating our sandwiches in the lower pasture while the pups dried off in the sun before the drive home.Suzanne A.

55Simply amazing! I had missed my first booking and John was really kind about that. :) Their friend Alex showed us around when we arrived and was a great host. My nervous dog balked at the cattle on the way in and the sweet goats on the way out. She's a mess. But! She made it through and once we got through the paddock gates, she was in heaven! So many trails to wander and creeks to splash in. My old dog loved it too.
I brought a friend and we spent a good chunk of time happily sitting on a cute bench under some beautiful trees. She had a great time and I couldn't be more grateful for a place like this! Thank you!

55Wow what a great day. First the hosts are super, they met us on the drive in and walked us through the pasture, past the goats, chickens and cows to the trail area. The property is so fun, bridges over creeks, trails up, down and around. Our puppy had the best time, and therefore so did we. Melissa F.

FAQ about our Lakebay dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
