The ability to take dogs out without the stress of coming across other dogs was worth every penny! The attention to detail with welcoming touches was such a nice surprise. Water available for dogs, chairs and benches for sitting several places along the wooded trails...just lovely. We will be regular visitors for sure! There is a Chuckit stick and a couple of balls hanging on the fence east of the gate (to the right of the gate when facing it from inside the property). Walk to the opposite side of the field and you'll find a trail that leads into the woods. There is a doggy station with water, poo bags, a trash can for poo bags, and benches. There is also a map of the trails through the woods. Look carefully at the map and then follow the little red markers attached to trees that indicate the trail location. Make your way through the woods and back to the grassy field. That hike and a little ball chasing takes about an hour. Note: The field and woods will likely be muddy in places so wear boots. Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks.
