Captain's Retreat at Bear Creek located off Highway 64 in Mocksville! 4.5 acres of fully fenced (woven mesh wire and post/rail 5.5ft to 6ft high) with trails, woods, field, and plenty of room to run and explore! Open the front gate and drive into the secure parking area. ***CLOSE AND LATCH THE GATE BEHIND YOU BEFORE GETTING YOUR DOGS OUT OF THE CAR!*** Walk through gate into the space from the secure parking area. This area has wooded trails as well as cleared areas. Densely wooded areas and thickets all around. TICK PREVENTION IS A MUST! There are no pesticides or herbicides used here. Only natural horticulture vingear for spot weed control. This area is located beside Bear Creek and when the creek is high or after a good rain IT WILL BE MUDDY on the right side of the property! Dry creekbed located across the back of the property. **The Creek is NOT accessible from the fenced property** -Water hose on site for use. Dog shower/bath area to the right of the shed with dog wash hose attached, shampoo, and wash shammy. Or you may bring your own bath supplies! Feel free to give your dog a shower/bath! ***Just added dog pool*** For use at no extra charge! Fill up/use if you'd like! (It's been stored for the fall/winter...but if you would like to use it...please let me know at time of booking) -Dog water bowl, dog brush, toys, treats, human and dog tick spray provided. This is a very quiet place on a country road where your dogs can be off leash and free to explore nature. The full four acres are surrounded by a 5 foot fence and there is a small creek running through the property. There is a wide spot in the creek that is easily the most popular spot for our canine visitors! There are larger fields and open areas for your dogs to practice their retrieving, and there are many paths in the woods for hiking. The beginning of each path is marked with quartz stones to show you the way. You will also find several benches scattered throughout the property so that you can take a load off while your dogs run and play. When it rains the property can be quite wet in some areas, so bring boots and a towel to clean off your muddy (but happy!) dog. There is a full competition size agility field within the four acres. The agility equipment is completely fenced in and will be accessible only to those who have had at least one formal beginner's agility class. This is to keep you and your dog safe and to prevent misuse of the equipment. Please message the host when you book the spot and before your first visit to discuss your agility experience if you are wanting to access the equipment. **I would really like for your first visit to be on a weekend or a Tuesday (my day off) so that I can meet with you to show you some details about the property and discuss parking. After the first visit, book whenever you want! If you absolutely cannot make it these days for your first visit, we can work something out. 🙂

We love Mutts and all Wiggle Butts. Big or little, there is something for everyone. We are around a mile off Hwy 85 and Business 85. A bench, covered porch, seating, and cold bottles of water are always included. There is a fire pit on site and add this to your reservation to roast some smores or toast your wiggle butt. There is a mini fridge on the back porch with water bottles for you and your fur friends. Plenty of parking. Please park where the owners can still access both carports.

Hi please use this backyard as your own to play with your dogs. Your pups will have nearly an acre of running room with a playground that offers 4 slides. The park offers a great hill to burn energy and work on agility. Enter through the side gate. Enjoy plenty of shade and sitting areas. We now have the Sunflower She Shed with an 8 foot covered porch with fan and an air conditioned interior room with refrigerator and snacks to purchase. If it is raining, you are covered. If we have a pop up thunderstorm, please get inside the Sunflower She Shed interior room for your safety. We will discuss money after you are safe. There is a wonderful glider in the shade, several benches with cushions, a hammock, pillows and a lounging blanket are always included. For people Extras are available such as snacks and cold drinks and frozen ice cream found in the Sunflower She Shed refrigerator/freezer.

We have a low profile, black wrought iron, decorative fence that measures 18' x 18', giving you over 300 feet of play area for your smaller furry friend. There is a water bowl, kiddie pool, toys, poop bags, trash can, chair and small table for pet parents. All surrounded by over 350 acres of field and forest, our piece of heaven on earth.

Our setting is remote and beautiful! Farmland and forest as far as the eye can see, and only 10 minutes from Downtown Mooresville, NC. Sample Road is private and graveled, with parking adjacent to the dog run area, and it's marked. There are also Markers with bright yellow tape designating the run area. We have a burn pit that is available for use during the Fall, Winter and early Spring months. Just give me advanced notice if you would like a fire burning when you arrive. Adjacent to the fire pit is a patio table and 4 chairs for your use. There are Adirondack chairs and a small table for your relaxation in the pet run area. Pet toys are there for your use, too. Even though your dog might be larger, there is a kiddie pool for them to splash about in, most dogs love water. We have a large, beautiful yard that is fully fenced. The fence is tall. See photos for tiny cracks in the fence that my 15 pound dachshund mix cannot get out of…But maybe a really tiny dog can go under or get out of. It’s fully closed off, but the pictures show the minimal gaping happening at 2 places. The yard is beautiful with different types of flowers and trees. We have nesting blue birds into the bird house. We have a baby pool for dogs to play in. There’s a trellis covered patio. We have a two year old so there are kid toys and sidewalk chalk randomly around the patio. Feel free to use! I have a baby pool set up that I don’t mind you letting your dog use. There are flowers and plants. There are lots of birds flying around and a beautiful, big sky. Sunsets are really nice in our backyard. Enjoy the seating area. Our porch swing has recently broken, so don’t use that. Park on the street in front of our house. When facing the house, the fence door on the right side is the easiest to enter, in my opinion. Do not use the trampoline. It’s dangerous. Do not use the grill, space heater, or fire pit. Thank you! There’s an outlet behind the blue couch. (Lastly, if your dog needs a dog friend, let me know and I can try to arrange for my dachshund/beagle mix to be there and to join in. He likes to be chased. I know most people won’t want another dog with their dog, but if it’s something that would make you and your dog happy, I could bring him out. He’s up to date on everything at the vet. He can be timid at first. If your dog is lonely for a friend, we can try to arrange something.)
