55This is our second visit to Spring Acre’s at Fiveash Farm. Similar to our first visit, the hosts greeted us warmly. They showed us through their pasture that includes cattle, goats, and chickens (I believe they have an alternative entrance upon request). Once safely outside of the pasture, it was off-leash exploring! This place is a DREAM for those that enjoy hiking with their pups, but have reservations about seeing other dogs along the way. It was nice being able to enjoy the crafted trails, while letting the pup sniff and explore at her pace and desire. Once into the woods, it feels almost entirely secluded from the world (some spots you can see the farm, and others hear traffic noise from the road). For being a private hike though, I would choose it every time over say... Rattlesnake Ledge. Even more exciting, once the pup was safely back in our car, the hosts gave us an up close meet and greet with their Scottish Highland cows! They’re such beautiful, and docile animals!! I am so very grateful the host have offered to share their space! I can’t wait to go back!!Amanda V.

55Our pup loves this places, it's the best of everything!! Lots of space, things to sniff, trails to run like a maniac on and water to swim and and clean off in. The hosts are super friendly and nice and you can tell they put a lot of thought and time into the area. The trails are easy to follow, maintained and it reminds me of a magical fairy land. Love it! Two thumbs up for me and two paws up from George! Sara A.

55This place is amazing. We've been here a number of times and every visit is incredible. The Sniffspot is so beautiful and John & Stephanie are two of the kindest, sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. Honestly, it's worth going to just to chat with them. And I get such a kick out of walking through the pasture! The farm animals are so cute and my reactive boy Cooper is completely at peace strolling past them all which is totally bizarre and I just love it. There is definitely some magic in this place and it's a really special experience. The Sniffspot itself is separated from the pasture by secure fencing. As soon as we get through the gate Cooper runs to the creek and splashes around then we head back to the trails. I just love the peace and quiet and beautiful woods. Cooper has the time of his life rolling in the grass, racing around exploring and playing in the creeks. We both leave here happy and refreshed and Cooper sleeps like a baby after he gets a bath. Definitely one of our favorite places on earth. ♥ Susan D.

I leave feeling refreshed and relaxed and Cooper is thoroughly satisfied and happy. Even though there are some unfenced areas, we feel completely secure here. Really beautiful, lovely place and we are so grateful for every moment we can be here. ♥Susan D.

55Visited this farm as our very first Sniff Spot this weekend - and it’s goin to be a tough act to follow! Beautiful property, friendly hosts, lots of open and wooded spaces, and even charming farm animals. My dogs had a blast. Our pup hadn’t yet had any opportunities to explore big open spaces, winding trails, and spring creeks off leash - and she thoroughly exhausted herself. We’ll definitely be back, and probably book two hours next time!Polly O.

55This is our 2nd visit and we had so much fun! Hosts John & Stephanie are so welcoming and the farm is beautiful. I'm really surprised how completely relaxed my reactive boy Cooper is walking through all of the animals in the pasture. I worried about it quite a lot but both times he didn't bat an eyelash. This time the chickens and bunnies were running all over and the steer was laying down maybe just 4 or 5 feet from the gate to the Sniffspot. No problems at all, Cooper just strolled past all the critters and the giant steer, happy as can be. Just as our first visit, we again booked 2 hours and I find this is a great amount of time for us. I was surprised to find there are a lot more trails than I realized the first time we were here and some are fairly steep with beautiful moss covered logs bordering the pathways. Super pretty and secluded. We hiked all about, regularly running back to the beginning so Cooper could splash about in the creek. This is such a peaceful place and very calming, a great place to unwind and for your pup to explore. As weather permits, this is definitely going to be one of our regular spots and we can't wait to be back.Susan D.

55This is our 3rd time here. We are head over heels in love with Spring Acres. I'm not sure how, but every visit is better than the one before. You couldn't ask for more welcoming, kind hosts as John & Stephanie...they are such good people. And I just can't get over how Cooper strolls through all the animals in the pasture....it's bizarre to see my reactive dog so completely at peace...I just love it, makes me so happy. 😊 This time it was rainy and we had the best time hiking around and discovering new trails. Cooper loves splashing around in the creek, racing around like a nut and rolling around in the grass and I love the fresh air and peace & quiet. It's nice roaming around without the worry of encountering other dogs and I am totally relaxed here. Super awesome amazing Sniffspot! Can't wait to be back!Susan D.

55This place is the best! It has some trails for running, water for splashing, an grassy area for fetch, some wooden bridges and best of all a cabin to hide on the deck if it rains. Riley ran around like a lunatic and Buddy was able to sniff until his heart was content. There is something for everyone! The hosts are super nice and generous and great communicators. There are some very calm farm animals - cows, goats, chicken, bunnies and a peacock to be aware that you will need to pass. They won't bother you though.Erika S.

55This spot was awesome for us! Sign out front, good parking. Owners are great and show you around the property upon arrival. There are other farm animals at the property, most ignore you completely, goats are curious but very friendly. Once your pup is allowed off leash they cannot access the farm animals. Trails to follow are well marked, a lot of small loops to follow!! Covered area to sit if you want. This is a big piece of property! So much exploring. This time of year it was muddy so bring boots and a towel for the pup if you really want to explore the whole property. There are also 2 areas that are rather flat for ball throwing etc if that is more your thing! We will definitely be back, if you and your pup like to explore through the trees this is a great spot!!Taylor S.

55We just love it here. We always book 2 hours and that seems to be just enough time for us. If we ever decide to invite a third, I would probably book 3 hours and bring a picnic. There is a creek, trails and plenty of open space for Cooper to romp and explore. The best part of Spring Acre's is John & Stephanie. They are such a kind, welcoming couple and I always feel so comfortable. ♥ I also get a huge kick out of watching my normally reactive boy stroll past all the animals in the pasture...goats, chickens, giant steer and he just trots happily through the pasture, it's hilarious. There is such tranquility here and I love seeing my boy so at peace. Just before this visit there had been days of heavy rain so the creek was really running....John warned me it could be a bit strong in parts so I kept Cooper closer to shore and he had the best time splashing around then running around the trails & rolling around in the grass. He was one very happy, very dirty boy by the time we got back to the car for the ride home. It started raining just before we left and Stephanie ran out with a towel to try to dry Cooper off, it was super sweet. Great time. This will definitely be one of our regular hangouts. ☺Susan D.

55Lovely hosts and interesting farm animals to see. Easy to find and easy to park. The private woods park is a network of connecting woods trails, mostly on a gentle slope. There are a couple of clearings as well as little and big streams. Not fully fenced, so you will want a decent recall, but no other people or dogs around and far from the road. Normal inherent natural woods hazards (uneven ground, etc) for dogs who go off trail and some of the many wooden bridges could be a little slippery for running dogs. We had a wonderful romp and look forward to returning and exploring the park in different seasons. Great opportunity for the dogs to play in a natural wooded area without worries about encounters with other people or dogs.Kate S.

55Spring Acre’s is such an amazingly beautiful slice of heaven. Lots of trails to explore and a creek that Norman enjoyed taking a dip in. Hosts John and Stephanie were wonderful and very helpful in explaining the layout and getting us started. We arrived a bit early, which I felt bad about, but they were very gracious and understanding.
Norman ( my dog ) can be a bit reactive when excited but was not bothered at all by any of the farm animals. He barked more when he was leaving! I think he could have stayed all day honestly. There is a cute cabin the Hosts are building tucked away on the property and it has a porch that was available to us to sit and just enjoy the beauty that surrounded us. There is also a very cute sitting area right next to the creek as well. Norman loved chasing sticks and playing in the water.
I highly recommend Spring Acres and look forward to many more visits.

FAQ about our Olalla dog hiking trails
Are dog hiking trails safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than a city or county park. With a Sniffspot off-leash area all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars. Our hiking trails tend to be outside the city, which lends to more privacy, but it is also important to follow typical hiking safety precautions, such as potentially having trail maps.
How do I know if a dog hiking trail works for my dog?
Sniffspot provides the tools to find the ideal spot. Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing 6 feet tall and distractions, to find a dog park with trails that works for your dog. You can also filter by size if you are looking for a certain acre park, an expansive off-leash dog park. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our fully fenced dog hiking trails. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our dog hiking trails where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. Since you are looking for trails, make sure to check photos to see if it the spot has flat trails or gnarly trails. You can also browse by specific amenities, if you are looking for a view or a beach, for instance, or other activities or fun features. You can check whether the spot has off or on street parking, the regular park hours, whether it has paved trails or a modern restroom.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog hiking trail?
In order to hike the trails, we require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot hiking trail at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
