About 3 sides are fenced in and there isn't a lot of traffic on the road. **Please note: the neighbor along the back of the field has a gate that is sometimes open. Their dog cannot get out of their yard because he is on an invisible fence. He is outside about 50% of the time. If your dog is reactive, and does not have good recall, PLEASE stay away from the back corner. I don't want guest dogs entering my neighbors yard and attacking their dog. A Large professional Obstacle Course with most of the obstacles course pieces seen on U-Tube. Hello I am Mookie, a Golden Doodle who loves to play ball and my Human is Grace. She got me this place with a long yard, perfect for playing with a chuck it! I begged for a pug and she let me have Frankie. We are happy to share our yards which have different areas for different Dog needs. Human needs can be taken care of too. We are relatively new to Sniffspot and will be adding new features as we go. Our pictures show how much we have changed since we opened the very snowy end of January. Frankie and I will not be coming out to visit your dogs, but once you leave we will enjoy learning about them on our scent hunt. We believe this will create a lot of interest and fun for us and for your special family members too. A little info about my place, I have safe space to unload and load the doggos. Important to close the gate as you enter and exit the property. Everywhere is fenced. It is 2 acres total, the area that you will be playing in is a very nice long field with a small pool which gets changed between guests, and a larger one that My human adds water to between guests. it looks dirty, however, it is from the sand box and dirt hills that my human made for the dogs to play in. It is too large for her to clean after each guest. There is a water hose with a shower head that you can use for play and clean up as well. Added attraction, MOLES and we love sniffing after them. Be watchful of holes that my human missed filling between guests, she tries very hard to find them, but Frankie is a digger! This is a place for fun , everything is not perfect , but the yard is a lot of fun for Frankie and also for me! We love to explore and sometimes we see deer here and other wild animals! UPDATE: All fences are secure. IF for some reason your dog slips out the farm gate entrance to the sniff spot, the entire property is fenced, and your dog will not get out. There is a shade canopy which will protect from the rain and some chairs to relax in. You may encounter holes because dogs love to dig in the soft turf and the hill of dirt, please let me know if you find some that my human and I have not gotten filled between visits and she will fix that! With so many trees, there will be branches down. I find that the dogs love to pick through those sticks. I try to keep on top of the really big ones, but if you see any let my human know. PLEASE NOTE: If your ball or other toys go over the fence, they now belong to my neighbor! PLEASE You must not go over the fence to get them!! I have other balls and will be happy for you to use them while here, if they go over, I can deal with him later! Thank you for your consideration of my neighbors. Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, several nature trails for hiking adventures, and a wetland-like area with a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk over logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over in places, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are two bridges over the creek, and we will be adding one more bridge at the far west end of the spot soon. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit you will see improvements! We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs (message us in advance if you need more chairs and we’ll put them out for you), and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, sunscreen, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. We also provide snacks and beverages for humans and doggos! Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, a round metal table w/umbrella & 4 metal chairs, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is VERY secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. We have wood chips along trails and in muddy areas which help a lot! Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We recently added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who visit after dark. They provide subtle light at the entryway, main field, and the shelter for about 4-5 hrs after it gets dark outside. If you you want to explore the trails after dark we recommend putting a collar light on your dog(s), and that you bring headlamps and flashlights 🔦. ***We recently added a small bridge over the middle section of the creek! The pastures are cross-fenced, allowing for room to explore but not too far. An indoor riding arena is available as an add-on. It is enclosed on three sides, keeping the wind and weather out during playtime. It is well-lit for evening use. Horses offer additional entertainment but are always a safe distance with a large space (enough to drive a large truck through) between fence lines. The animals are not reactive to the dogs even when barking at them. The farm animals don't respond to the dogs, so often the dogs move on to exploring the space. We have some simple agility items in the space along with balls and other toys to help entertain both you and your dogs. As a guest, you have access to: * Fully Fenced Acre of play space for off-leash adventures * Water - Lift the green handle to start the flow of water * Poop baggies * White garbage can * Dog towels, clean ones in the clear container, and dirty ones go into the grey tote. We ask you to use 1 towel per visit if possible. * Porta Potty * Shelter with chairs and a small table you can put anywhere in the field during your visit we just ask that you put them back when you are done. * During the summer days we include a doggie pool. They are blue kiddie pools. Double them up when you use them so they are easier to empty and less likely to break. Please dump the pool and return it to the corner when you are finished. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: This is a field that has uneven ground including mole and gopher holes. Please watch your step. Please keep within the Sniffspot area. If you happen to throw a ball over a fence just message me and I can retrieve it for you. It is important to stay outside of areas marked private property. Those gates also have extra locks, but we want to be sure everyone stays safe. USE OF INDOOR ARENA: During harsh weather (over 95 degrees or winter would be those days of wind and heavy rain) the indoor arena may be an option. YOU MUST MESSAGE me before the visit to ask for us so we can make that ready for you if it is available. That space is in an area marked private property. Come down the first driveway. You will see a white address sign “Windenfir” You will then see a sign “Windenfir Training Field.” Parking avail in front of gate, near the exit, or in front of garage (just not blocking garage door). Agility course, tennis balls, fresh water, and poo buckets available. Hose is on if not freezing temps. After going though Windenfir training field gate you will see the back gate with a sign “Windenfir Dog Pasture." Great place to explore and let them sniff. Looking to the right when out in the pasture, the neighbors Goldens occasionally bark. Two fences between properties on this side. Owner usually calls them when barking. The pasture has goat droppings so no surprises. This is a farm :) Chickens and goats in separate area and visible to dogs (see photos). Don’t be surprised if they come up to the fence to see what’s going on. The animals have been raised around dogs and are not bothered by them. They would come out if they could. Very nice field fencing in pasture. Chain link/field fencing in training field. As of now the training field and pasture are muddy and slick in areas. Agility equipment can be slick also due to rain. Check pasture area if deciding to throw a ball/stick/small child :). Hard packed in areas and not level in some. Playhouse is open for photos and kids. A huge field for dogs to explore. My terrier had a blast checking out the holes for critters. Also, the nicest owners who were working nearby when we arrived. There are contained dogs and lots of farm life on the walk to the field but it wasn’t an issue for my slightly reactive dogs.

Our visit to Jessica's country field was everything I had hoped for, and quite true to her descriptions and easy to fine. My elderly pup and I enjoyed walking the field a few times over, as she caught interesting odors on the wind and checked out little critter holes and trails, some of her favorite things. I appreciated the peaceful setting and views, so much like my childhood farm home!

Exactly what we needed: a ton of space for Willa to run and sniff and hunt field mice. I’d say as long as your dog isn’t dead set on escaping you, then it’s plenty secure. There’s a lab that lives on the back who will (playfully) run along the fence if engaged. Accessibility: It’s fairly flat from the parking spot to the two chairs set out. I wouldn’t navigate the field with a mobility device due to gopher/mole holes. We’ll definitely return! 🐕 💜

Our six month old lab had a great time - this was his first experience off leash with any significant room to roam. Like previous reviewers said, the ground is uneven, but our dog (who runs full speed and is pretty careless) navigated fine, but do beware of your dogs capabilities. I noticed the owner had some toys out to use, but we brought our own. Side note, the view of the surroundings were pretty, so that made it a nice spot for us too :) We will be back!

Had a good visit, gorgeous weather and found the place with no issues. I did see the neighbor’s dog out but wasn’t worried about our dog getting in since their gate was closed, however, there is a 2-3 foot gap by the gate that I didn’t see and didn’t realize was there from the description. After my dog running the fence a number of times with the neighbors dog, she decided to pop right through and play on their side of the fence. Good to be aware of this so we can call her away if she heads over near their gate. I just assumed with the gate closed she wouldn’t be able get through. Overall enjoyable, I think we will be back.

Great spot for a crazy dog like mine to run! I do recommend a good recall. The nearby road is very quiet and not dangerous by any means, but regardless, it is not fenced off, as disclosed in the original description. Super clean, provided balls, and a place to scrub the mud off your boots.

Even though it was a rainy, windy morning, we had a successful exercise session! The pups are fast asleep now :) Easy to find, tucked off the dead end road so there was no concern of the dogs running into traffic. It was the perfect muddy field to get the zoomies out!

Nice big field with lots of VERY interesting smells apparently. My 3 girls had a great time sniffing, romping around, digging at gopher holes, and munching on grass. The neighbors’ friendly golden retriever and my pups checked each other out a couple times at the back fence and were all very excited. My dogs luckily have decent recall or else I am pretty sure they would have breached the neighbors’ yard through their open gate to hang out. Look out for deer droppings if you have rollers or pups who like “free samples”. I have both and just had to keep an eye on them to redirect. One of the rollers really earned her bath when we got home - haha. No big deal though, small price to pay for a fun adventure with my dogs on a beautiful day.

The host Jessica was very kind in showing me where to go! The area is large and a great place for your dog to run around and sniff away! There are some apple trees that had some fallen fruit and if your dog is a vacuum cleaner it could be something they may partake in (mine just wanted to eat wet grass); however everything out there is harmless and quite a safe space for a dog to play! Would recommend coming here!

My 3 pups had a great time here! Plenty of room to run, sniff and play. There are some neighbor dogs at the fence line- but my dogs just ran along the fence with them (separated by the fence) and thought it was a fun game. If your dogs need to have zero sight of other dogs, that’s not likely here, but if your dogs don’t mind seeing a friend on the other side of the fence, they may have extra fun :) There is also about 10 feet at the entrance not fenced. My dogs have enough recall that it was not an issue.

Jessica was super flexible with my reservation as I was running late but allowed me to stay later. Great and clean space, the neighbors lab was sweet and hung out along the fence. I did have a hard time keeping from digging because of the mole hills (she loved the smells).

Are dog fields safe?

If you are looking for an adventure, but also looking for safety, Sniffspot dog fields are a great option. What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot dog field?

We require that all four-legged friends have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. Make sure to check host rules before visiting to ensure, for instance, that you are following allowable sports activities rules and any special events rules.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot field at the same time as me?

No. Facility rentals are for private play time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the area during visits, so this is perfect for a private adventure for you and your doggie friends, and perhaps a human friend. Hosts understand that many guests have dogs in training and are nervous owners. So when you book a Sniffspot dog field you have the entire private spot to yourself. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between time slots so you will not run into other guest dogs or a previous person when coming or leaving in the field parking area. Some hosts may have multiple fields, but there is always a buffer between fields.
