Nature in the City is a unique Private Dog Park that is 1 1/2 acres of beautiful natural land with varied landscapes. Step out of the city and into our natural setting that features different areas including 2 grassy fields perfect for fetch w/discs, ropes, or toys, (balls are not best here due to all of the surrounding bushes), a couple of forested areas, several nature trails for hiking adventures, and a wetland-like area with a healthy little creek that’s a hit with the pups. They can wade, cool off, and drink from the natural water. Your dogs will have so many different sniffing and secure off-leash exploring opportunities here! Our spot is so much more than just a fenced field! The area is diverse and so much fun for your dog(s)! This is a great spot to work on recall. There are a couple areas on the trails that are a little steep, there’s a trail where you have to walk over logs 🪵, and the little creek has to be stepped over in places, so people with limited mobility may have issues in these areas of the spot. There are two bridges over the creek, and we will be adding one more bridge at the far west end of the spot soon. There are plenty of spaces and trails that are suitable for all abilities. If you’re looking for a basic fenced field to play chuck-it then this probably isn’t your spot. We are continually working on our property, so every time you visit you will see improvements! We provide a rain/sun shelter with 4 foldable chairs (message us in advance if you need more chairs and we’ll put them out for you), and lots of supplies including dog toys & balls, poop bags, hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, sunscreen, wipes, hand towels, first aid kit, and a cornhole yard game. We also provide snacks and beverages for humans and doggos! Located outside are 2 zero-gravity reclining chairs, a kids size picnic table, a round metal table w/umbrella & 4 metal chairs, and fresh drinking water for your pups. There are open areas with sun ☀️, and there is shade all day due to many large trees. Our property is VERY secure with 5 to 6 ft fencing. We walk the fence line regularly and check to make sure it’s secure. We are located close-in on the Westside of Vancouver one mile from I-5 on 78th Street in West Hazel Dell near Felida. *It gets muddy in areas when it has been wet/raining outside. We have wood chips along trails and in muddy areas which help a lot! Come prepared so you enjoy your visit. **We recently added 6 solar flood lights in the main field area for those of you who visit after dark. They provide subtle light at the entryway, main field, and the shelter for about 4-5 hrs after it gets dark outside. If you you want to explore the trails after dark we recommend putting a collar light on your dog(s), and that you bring headlamps and flashlights 🔦. ***We recently added a small bridge over the middle section of the creek! You will see a white address sign “Windenfir” You will then see a sign “Windenfir Training Field.” Parking avail in front of gate, near the exit, or in front of garage (just not blocking garage door). Agility course, tennis balls, fresh water, and poo buckets available. Hose is on if not freezing temps. After going though Windenfir training field gate you will see the back gate with a sign “Windenfir Dog Pasture." Great place to explore and let them sniff. Looking to the right when out in the pasture, the neighbors Goldens occasionally bark. Two fences between properties on this side. Owner usually calls them when barking. The pasture has goat droppings so no surprises. This is a farm :) Chickens and goats in separate area and visible to dogs (see photos). Don’t be surprised if they come up to the fence to see what’s going on. The animals have been raised around dogs and are not bothered by them. They would come out if they could. Very nice field fencing in pasture. Chain link/field fencing in training field. As of now the training field and pasture are muddy and slick in areas. Agility equipment can be slick also due to rain. Check pasture area if deciding to throw a ball/stick/small child :). Hard packed in areas and not level in some. Playhouse is open for photos and kids. What a wonderful birthday treat for our one year old shepherd mix and her sister today. They were so happy to be able to run and play freely in a beautiful farm setting with plenty of room to roam. Well drained fields meant no mud, a pleasant surprise in such a cold and wet spring!

We’ve been here several times and my dogs love it. When we pull in the driveway they get excited. I don’t even have to worry about letting them out - they go straight to the gate. No detours, no wandering off (& I have 3 to keep track of) Very nice place with lots of smells to sniff & lots of room to run

This spot is still one of my favorites! It's always clean. I can relax because fencing is secure. It's quiet, with the occasional rooster call . Lol. Me and Niko love seeing the Alpaca's when they're about. On my list of favorites!

Nice spot to let your dogs run around for a bit. Chickens, ducks, and a couple of Alpacas are visible from the area but not close enough to cause much issue if your dogs are reactive to that. First time the host will show you the quick two gates to enter the area, really only a 30 second brief exchange before you can let your dogs play! Very nice people!

Quiet (other than chickens) and private. Was able to work on off leash recall easily. Didn’t feel spied on or like my dog was going to disturb anyone. Fence is really secure and I didn’t feel like I have to chase my dog around.

This is a wonderfully secure place for my puppy to sniff to her hearts content. She enjoyed watching the Alpacas and chickens from a distance. Also, Lisa was extremely kind and showed me the areas that we could be in. We will definitely be back.

It was very nice and peaceful. Plenty of space for the dogs to explore and play. There are very cute alpacas in the back which made my heart melt. You can see some of the chickens too but they weren’t distracting at all. Fencing was very well done.

So much fun! Clean, well fenced spot in a quiet, chill neighborhood. We enjoy watching the chickens and alpacas when they are out in their fields. Pyrfect spot for my Great Pyrenees to be as close as he'll ever be to a livestock guardian dog. Lol 😆❤️ My appreciation to the host!

Host was helpful. Space to explore. Nice sitting area under a tree. There are chickens and alpacas close by, but there's distance between their enclosures, so it's not possible for your dog to be right up next to an animal on the other side of the fence. The host's dogs were inside the whole time and we heard a little barking at one point, but not much, and we couldn't see them at all, so my reactive dogs didn't flip. A great space for some dog exercise and exploration!

So amazing and secure! My puppy loved exploring the paddocks and especially enjoyed an unexpected encounter with the cat, who hung around for a little while as he played. In addition to the dogs inside the house, we did hear and see a German Shepherd in the front of the property right across from the driveway who was intent on barking at the fence, so do be aware of that! Overall, a great experience and the host was very nice.

Our dogs really enjoyed it! It is 3 fenced areas linked together, but the one main area is plenty big enough for frisbee/ball throwing. There’s lots of interesting nooks and crannies for dogs to sniff around and explore as well.

My pups loved all the areas to sniff and there is enough room for my 65lb dog to play fetch. One of my dogs is an expert escape artist and even though he was able to get under one of the gates it only leads to another fenced area, which is totally safe and easy to get the pup back and trust me if there was a way out my dog would find it. The host suggested I put one of the chairs in front of the fence and problem Solved. Host is very kind and place is very clean. Highly recommend!

This was a great spot and lived up to the title of a "sniff spot" with so many smells and 3 separate paddocks to run between and explore! Lisa was really responsive when we got stuck in traffic and were running late. Our dog got to see the alpacas and chickens across the field, sooooo interesting!

My dogs had an absolute blast. Even my husky was worn out. Plenty of room to run. They were close enough to the animals to see them, which really interested them. She had the animals far enough away with enough buffer areas that we didn’t have to worry about the dog’s getting anywhere near them. So that was perfect. Fencing was secure enough to hold them. We LOVED this sniffspot! Lisa was so kind and showed me aroubd when I first arrived. My pups had the greatest time exploring the multiple fenced areas. There was room to run wild, sniff trees and bushes, climb wood chip piles, explore dirt patches, and plenty of toys to toss around. This spot is close to my house and I will be bringing the pups back for more visits!

What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot fully fenced dog park?

We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not permit use by pregnant dogs and we do not permit dogs with a bite history. We require that guests sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules, such as staying within the designated off-leash areas. Each park location also has their own set of rules that guests need to follow, such as limiting excessive barking.

Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot fully fenced dog park at the same time as me?

Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
