Description

This is a beautiful spot for dogs. A quiet State Road runs along one edge of the property, but the woods throughout the property are the real draw. Lots of natural space to explore. When it rains, there is a stream that runs through. There are many footpaths through the woods for your dog to explore, but feel free to make new paths. The barbed-wire borders of the property are well marked by ribbons and paint, except for the road frontage.

HOST NOTE

Some areas are muddy, and storms often bring down branches, so watch your step. There is barbed wire along the orange-tagged border. Barbed wire appears occasionally throughout the property. A long time ago, this was a cow farm, and there are reminders of that history throughout the property. More recently, I believe they operated a commune here, and there are signs of that as well. The trails are flat but rugged, and you and your dog are welcome to go off the path into zone 4 and 5 terrain. Vines, roots, and other walking hazards may be present. The property inclines gently towards an intermittent creek that runs along the middle of the property, which doubles as a wonderful path when dry. It appears after a heavy rain and disappears in a dry spell.

We bought this house mostly for our dogs because I mean, look at that yard! Our boys love it and now we'd love to share it with you. Our home is tucked right off Fort Ave in a very quiet neighborhood. When you come over, you'll park right in front of the gate to enter into the backyard. The gate will be propped open for you and you'll need to pull it shut when you leave. When you come, our dogs will be in our basement with no access to seeing the backyard, as to not to trigger ours or yours, but you may be able to hear some barking occasionally. Further, we have lots of squirrels in our yard and the occasional cat that hangs out in our driveway. There are two chairs outside, a hammock, kids toys, and dog toys. There will always be access to water for your pup and we'll provide bags and treats. We will be around, but will not interfere with your visit - we know some pups just need their space and privacy and we will honor that. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Welcome to our spot! We have a lovely gated area approx 2.5-3acres, but also for our off leash friends we do have amazing woods behind the gated area that lead to a creek! We are currently working to trail that off not only for our kids and dogs but to be able to accommodate our guest. When you arrive here, we want you to feel at home, let us know anything you may need or want beforehand that we can provide! We have a large deck with outdoor furniture that you have access to, fire pit, children's toys, drinks and snacks available for if you have little ones and don't worry we'll also have adult accommodations! Dog toys are a given, can't have a playdate without toys! Raised water bowls are also located on the deck and can be moved wherever or bowls removed for smaller dogs. And our 3 will be off premises for your arrival if necessary! Otherwise they will be inside their room (they cannot be seen or heard and can't see your pup) we do have access for them to go potty depending on your stay time but in a way they will not be spotted for our reactive guest comfortability. ❤️
